  • Pascal Oudet produces oak turnings that are as surprising as they are beautiful. By turning very thin and then sandblasting away the spring growth rings, he creates stunning pieces that are mostly air.

    I been blasting woods and other stuff for that matter for over 30 years, change media, pressure, etc, different woods, density of nozzle etc, all great amazing looking end product, did not know many people did it. I personally like it.

    Spectacular work.
    In the sandblaster at work the expanded metal mesh in the bottom is held up with 2x2s, which get textured in a similar way.
    I am really enjoying this series of videos, I hope they continue.

    His art is just amazing, kind of a shame he is thinking of leaving his other job, I have a pacemaker / defibrillator and without it no wood turning for me :)
