The beauty pageant was a private firm's and her winning was a marketing strategy. Also, in the actual contest Miss Universe Japan, the only mixed contestants to have won were 1/2 japanese and 1/2 black, and 1/2 japanese and 1/2 indian. I'm not saying white beauty standards are not a thing but why try to create controversy and further ethnic tensions with bullshit stories
