    The Steven Wilson Yes Album is superb. It’s the only one I have in the series. If you like the 40th In the Court, I’d recommend the 40th anniversary CD/DVD version of Larks’ Tongues in Aspic. The remix of it is an eye-opener, and there’s a 30 minutes live TV performance on the DVD!

    My dad had that King Crimson album when I was a kid, probably still does. I remember playing 21st Century Schizoid Man over and over again. I also played with the speed, to see what it sounded like at 45 and 78 rpm. One of my favorite albums of all time.

    They couldn't find the multi tracks or master tapes to the Going for the One album. Unbelievable really!
    Anyway, I would love Wilson doing his trick on the albums Tormato and Drama. Two albums I am very fond of :)

    2 masterpieces right there, especially ITCOTCK, which is my second favourite album of all time, after Crimsons third album "Lizard" that is.
    Also beyond excited for Crimsons catalog to come on spotify, as it means that i can finally listen to their last 2 albums, and because it'll make a very convenient way to listen to my favourite band :)

    I listened to the Shaggs album Larry and thanks for the tip but I couldn't make it all the way through it,I was laughing so hard I couldn't talk to my wife,I had to stop,I guess they give hope to whoever wants to make music that just about anyone can make a record and I mean anyone!,it's also kind of sad for me being a musician to realize that the Shaggs as bad as they are are more known to the world then I am! Bob.

    Really hope you enjoy King Crimson Larry. I didnt like it on first listen. Then I was at a record store in Barrie and was talking to the owner, and I mentioned not really getting this album. I was annoyed that it was a "rock" album but 21st Century Schizoid Man and maybe the title track were the only rockin' songs on there. He said to me "you have to just view it as progressive, rather than progressive rock". I took it under advisement, and.... the album is now one of my favourites!

    Larry you gotta track down the archive edition of Flowers now. Elvis's Spike album has the other songs from their collaboration. I'm like you when I rediscover a classic like Astral Weeks ("greatest") but I eventually calm down and come back to earth and know it's Abbey Road. Steve Wilson is a genius at remastering. His Chicago II is excellent as well.

    In The Court of the Crimson King!!! My fave prog rock album ever! Sorry, my opinion is somewhat biased because King Crimson was one of the first actual progressive rock bands, influencing Floyd, Yes and Genesis to go in this direction musically. Yes, Astral Weeks is a great album, but I've always preferred Moondance

    I remember asking you about this album and if you had the remaster . Damn that seemed like a while ago. Anyhow, I really like these McCartney remasters !!! I was listening to “Pipes Of Peace” And the entire album has grown on me. As a guitarist and pianist myself, the arrangement of the title track off that album is superb. Then again... most of Paul’s stuff is musically arranged brilliantly!!! You know I want to cover the Shaggs title track “Philosophy Of The World” , but in tune!!! But I am still debating on that Haha.

    I always enjoyed flowers in the dirt. I saw him touring that album in 1990. First tour since wings. He played a few of the songs from fitd. I always enjoyed the costello collaboration. So like candy from elvis's mighty like a rose is my fave of their cowrites. I like in the court of the crimson king. Been years since i heard it.

      Forever Changes is a masterpiece. Da Capo the album before it could have been except for Revelation which is nearly 18 minutes of Love trying to do a Goin’ Home by The Stones on Aftermath which In my opinion didn’t come off either apart from Brian Jones harmonica which is outstanding. Whoever plays the harp on Revolation just could not play like Brian. Anyway I am digressing. Forever Changes is monumental.

    • @catsofsherman1316
      @catsofsherman1316 5 років тому +2

      @@BigSky1 agreed. Da Capo is definitely saddled by that long tedious jam track. The comparison to the stones song is apt. Going home for me keeps otherwise classic aftermath from being on the level of the string of albums starting with between the buttons through exile on main street.

    I wonder where Larry finds the room for all those Cds. He must have a very vast house. Here, all the music stores have closed since a couple of years. So we have to order them by a dealer or go to the flea market. The last time I bought a CD, there were still mammoths on earth.

    The Shaggs are the Best Group in the World :( - Tough Love equals talent & they are still touring. Love Flowers in the Dirt . A very under rated album. That yes album is classic & I Love the King Crimson album with Greg Lake. I have both on vinyl when they came out. Good video P.S. The Shaggs are really not for everyone. LOL

    Flowers in the dirt is a bit boring. Not bad, just nothing special. But maybe I should buy the newest remaster, maybe I too will discover it again. I stick my stickers on the sides of my cd shelfs. Had to check out the shaggs and now my ears hurt. I like Jon Anderson on the Lizard album by King Crimson, the whole Lizard album is great. Don't like the cover of their first but the songs are fantastic. There's a nice song by Steven Wilson named Drive Home. The first solo album by Jon Anderson is great. Love all of Yes in the 70's, hard to pick a favorite, maybe Tales from topographic oceans, but the album before and after were top shelf classics too.
