Thank you doc! I`ve been told I have an enlargend heart but noone have told me what it really is. Good information.
Thank for this information, my Dad died when I was 9 years old. My mother said he had an enlarged heart and the his valves had become too large, a surgeon her in Salt Lake City, Utah tried to help him but he died shortly after walking up from the surgery. The Doctor said his heart was the size of a football. Please don't delay seeing your doctor for this condition. My father was turned away from the Mayo Clinic because they said they could not help him. A local Dr. here in Utah performed a valve replacement but my father could not survive the second surgery.
Thanks Doc….. l feel much better since I watched this video 🙏🙏

I was diagnosed with an enlarged heart last Thursday after a stress test on the treadmill and an ecosonogram right afterwards but my cardio doctor didn't really explain it too well. He just doubled my bp medication. Metoprolol from 50 to 100. I was so worried about it but I feel a little better after I saw your video, thanks.
Yes. There is no such thing as an enlarged heart
I hope you are still doing fine.
I hope you're still doing well! 8/9/22.
Any update
When I was diagnosed with heart problems, my doctor failed to answer the questions I was too stunned to think to ask, too. Next appointment, ask him to explain causes of enlargement and other issues and give you the specific medical name for his diagnosis of your heart problems. Gives you something to look up.
You look great doc! Handsome and brilliant! Most of all calm and reassuring. Your approach is a god send. Thank you!

How long will it take for people with high blood pressure to develop enlarged heart?
Hi I have an enlarged right atrium through exercise is this something to worry about?
Thank you very much Dr. Gupta.
I begin to believe that many, maybe most people, do not want details on their condition. There are, however analyticals who understand physics, maybe biology, electronics, mechanical, process control and automation, and troubleshooting.
Decades ago a physical (a GP I guess) suggested I had an enlarged heart but I was young and it was lamely dismissed by the first cardiologist (my parents' doctor) I ever had. That one looked at an x-ray and held up his fist and rotated it, obviously implying the old "rule of thumb" we seemed to hear that one's heart should be about as large as one's fist. I left it at that. Eventually I left that one because he would become irritated when I had questions and brought in things that I was trying to reconcile (build into my mental model) for my understanding. He felt that I was questioning his evaluation. This occurred more than once, not discussing me, rather Mom and Dad.
I have had my current cardiologist for I guess 30 or more years. He told me I had an enlarged heart. Of course I asked where and how, and whether it was as compared to prior Echo Cardiograms and other tests or applying "standards" to my most recent echo. He started with saying it was the "muscle" so I asked, "the wall or septum" to which he said responded to the effect of "septum, well actually the whole muscle". Another visit he pointed to a drawing, indicating my upper right, quadrant that I inferred as possibly the descending aorta. The next time he said it was on top of the heart in a more or less horizontal part of the vessel. Such vague and conflicting information is what bugs me. I expect other factors are involved, such as what I did at work and play as I was growing up, ancestral lineage perhaps, heart rhythm and rates, blood pressure, responses to stress, and many others.
I'll get another to look and hopefully find one who will explain my specific condition as you have so well in general here. Thanks!
Hope you found your answers.
hi Doc I was Diagnoised with an enlarged heart the other day after ECG it does scare me but thank you for your video. Hello What does it mean when the ekg shows possible left atrial enlargement with pronged QT as compared with another EKG from a year ago. I have a history of PAC’s PVC’s but recently went to E R because I am noticing them when I begin exercising. This is new for me- when I had them in the past, nothing in particular brought them on. Now I am concerned that exercising is making a possible condition worse. I am very active bike 30+ miles a day and hike at our place in Colorado which is very high altitude. Any advice?
PS- I consulted with you online a few years ago about my palpitations.
Any advice of this?

If you have an enlarged heart what pains do you feel? Abdominal pains and all round to the back?
Good day doctor, i always watch your videos regarding PVCs everynight and you are the reason sometimes ease my worries. I was suffering with palpitations these previous months. I decided to go to the doctor and I had all my test including holters and echo. After all the test, I was diagnosed with cardiac arrythmia - PAC and PVC. My doctor suspects that the cause of my PVCs is because i have a dilated ventricle and dilated atrium (moderate enlarge heart). I have high cholesterol and triglycerides too. My doctor gave me (metoprolol) beta blockers 25mg and was divided into 4 (6mg per day) for my palpitations and in 3 weeks of medications nothing was change and i feel its getting worse day by day. Is this can be cure? How worse is my heart? Is my enlarge heart reversible and can back to normal? Is this an early sign of cardiomyopathy? I so worried right now because my PVC don't stop. Please answer me, i cannot enjoy my life now, i was in strict diet and avoid all triggers but nothing has changed. I want to go back on my normal life please HELP me
How are you doing now...?

can an endone (or varied drugs) overdose cause enlarged heart?
I need help. Dr told me after lots of tests heart is too big. He prescribed latex 2x daily limited to 1.5 leters liquid. Eating drinking seems blocked breathing difficulties when lying? Tightness in chest is usually caused by gas bloating? Oxygen shortage?
Dr. Sanjay, is it possible to reverse an enlarged heart thru exercising if it was caused by naturally large size, fat around the heart and being over weight? Those were the reasons my healthcare provider gave to what cause my enlarged heart. I'm not sure what I could do. I'm in my 20s if it matters.
Nam Goes Ham , I found out today, 05/17/18, that I have an enlarged heart. I asked this very question because I am morbidly obese. He said that losing weight, exercising, and changing diet would certainly reverse matters. Take care! I hope this help. I have fluid build up and am experiencing edema. It can be painful. I hope you haven't gotten to this point. Again, take care and I hope you have much success!
Definetly because of overweight. Lose weight and definitely gives you motivation to lose it now

My sister's heart is huge, and they did some studies for her and they told her that her heart is almost to her stomach and pushing the ribs... is anything that can be done for her or is too far gone... I know is hard to talk about this because is so sad, and we (The family) never knew it was to that point, she was born with a heart murmur so we thought it was that, but it is not... what can be done in her case? We need help fast...
How is she doing now? Hope she's getting the best of attention and care. That's what she needs now.
What about people who constantly exercise like athletes?
My hr is very slow. I woke up gasping for air then took my heart rate. It came up as 48. Should I be concerned? I'm 25 years old, smoker
David Wesa quit smoking first of all. I used to be a smoker before my lung collapsed forcing me to quit. Everyone says quitting smoking is impossible or hard. It's nonsense, by far the easiest habit to kick once you realize the most difficult part is finding a new way to drop the same habits you used as an excuse to smoke, like after eating/waking up and lighting up. Cigarettes are pure evil and once the damage is done your up shits creek and can't come back from the damage. Once you quit your health will thank you and trust me it's easy just don't give up!
I'm very very concerned and my cardiologist won't explain to me what's going on. I'm 61-years old and I've already had two major heart attacks one in 2012 and another in 2014 they had to place two-stents in my Right Coronary Artery and I've had extreme high blood pressure for three-years my recent blood pressure was 167 over 110 and A stress test was done on July 28th and it showed that my right and left Atrial are enlarged along with hypertrophy along with 35% plaque build up in my left ventricle AND I also have an inferior scar on my heart from possible heart attacks that I didn't even know that I've had
I'VE BEEN TAKING HEART MEDICATIONS SUCH AS CARVEDILOL BUT THEY DON'T HELP PLEASE SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT DOES ALL OF THIS MEAN
Best advise is to ask for second opinion or fly to York after getting an appointment with this doctor.
Sir ecg shows right ventricular hypertrophy and trop I is 0.72
Can you please do a video on Enlarged Aorta?
Can hawthorn help for this condition? Thanks
I was told by my doctor after doing a ecg this that my heart is enlarged so I will be doing another this which is a scan 24 hour holter in March so this video gives me hope not to fret about a enlarged heart that's diagnosed by ecg
People please take b vitamins for your heart also selenium, magnesuim and most important TUARINE, please research these

Marco Antonio - D3 K2 as well
Why? What exactly will that help with?
Exactly..
I’m so worried! I was told I have an enlarged heart and I’m only 31! Doctor started me on BP meds! I was already in the process of losing weight and eating healthier but this really scared me. Doctor said it could be reversed. So I’m keeping that hope. I’m trying my best not to worry.
I know the feeling darling. I have the same diagnosis. You're not alone. Stay healty, stay safe and take care of your self. Keep your head up. We can both get through this.
Shannin Moetu Thank you so much. I’m just glad to know I have it. Many people could be walking around and not knowing and could possibly become worse and have heart failure. It definitely gave me a wake up call to take my health even more seriously. Since taking BP meds I haven’t had as many pvcs, which was getting really bad! and I feel much better. I’ve been watching my sodium intake and working out 4 days a week. I feel good. Sending prayers to you.

I'm 44 and just found out I have a "mildly enlarged heart". It was by accident during a stomach CT with contrast. Now what? I've felt bad for years with exercise tolerance. I requested a stress test a year ago and the doctor basically said no. Which I found odd as I've had such had problems with long Covid. I've also had several syncope episodes. many Doctors in the US are horrible. I wish I could see you as my doctor
Dr , I have a question . I have very bad health anxiety that revolves around my heart . I've had hundreds of ekgs , they started off normal every time . Now they say t wave abnormality , and just recently last night it said (possible enlarged left atrial) blood work and chest xrays looked good so they said . The Dr did not seem concerned and sent me home , but I'm very concerned. I do not have health insurance or the money to see a cardiologist . Please shed some light on this for ne
justin yelverton i share the exact same anxiety. I vlog about my crazy health anxiety as well. I have extreme anxiety over cardiac issues. So I feel u!
Hi Justin ,
My advise is : besides all the physiological tests you're doing for your heart please consider targeting your health anxiety . Usually anxious people get more health problems than relaxed people . Please see a psychologist to treat your anxiety asap. You might end up having no health issues after you treat your anxiety
Me too, ask your doctor if you can take xanax.
Sir, My left chest is bigger than right and painful sometimes , what does it mean??? I am suffering from anxiety as well.
I'm 31 years old man.

21 here, just got diagnosed with mild left heart enlargement. Not too concerned over it nor are the doctors. Just keeping track of my BP. I had an echocardiogram after going to the ER after my apple watch showed I had signs of AFIB after drinking my preworkout, which after reading that caused me to have an anxiety attack. Could just be something I was born with, my mother has an enlarged heart and is fine, and so did my great aunt, she passed away a few years ago due to unrelated causes. Life goes on my friend, don't let it worry you too much.
