    I realized the tractor was in the wrong gear this whole day... should have been in LOW for this type of work... 😂

    Thank you so much for making this video. I have had my compact tractor 3 years (last tractor I owned was 40 years ago and a real tractor) I thought for sure, since my Kubota LX 2610 was made during covid; that it was just a piece of junk and there must be something wrong with it, for example I can't remove a 2 inch sapling. I can only scrape maybe 1/2 inch of soil. I have been so disappointing in it. Now I see they are just so under powered. I think I will just keep my snow blower on this and get a Kyoti brand for doing everything else and something with a lot more power. My 20 year old Arctic Cat ATV does a better job at pulling saplings out.

    Nice video and good job with the trail clearing. We worked on our trails this last weekend, just need to get the video edited. Subbed, liked and watched complete. Really good work!

      That's great! Perfect time of year; no bugs, no leaves, grounds thawed... Thanks!

    So close to 1k subs! (i'm #991!) Just got my L2502 this weekend, will eventually be making trails too. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks for the sub! I'm sure you'll be impressed what you're able to accomplish trail building and a whole bunch of other stuff with the L2502. Enjoy!

    Very well done! I am impressed by how much that Pirahna Tooth Bar helps you get some nice grip on those trees. I am trying to move old piles of brush without a grapple and the bucket simply has no grip ... I'm sure a bar like that would help! 1000 subs fast approaching, excited for you! Cheers, Alex.

      Thank you, Sir! Cost of the tooth bars have gone up since I bought one but it'd probably be $200-$300 well-spent in most cases.

    loving your videos! have same exact tractor also performing very similar tasks around my property. just a few ideas for you after watching this video: when knocking those little trees over, Ive found using my grapple, pushing the top enough to grab it, wiggle, and pull them out. secondly, turn down the HST to Low or Med, don't run high speed, think you gain pushing and pulling power with front end if you don't transfer so much fluid to HST. awesome vids! we love watching!

      Thanks! I definitely should have been in Low gear for this. It does make a big difference. We've only recently got a grapple but I don't know that the style we went with is conducive for grabbing saplings. I'll have to give it a whirl this spring...

    Def need guards/skidplates for the filters under the floor for that type of work. Learned that the hard way with my tractor. Also watch for falling limbs when pushing over saplings, i had a widowmaker land on my hood one time doing the same work on my oroperty. Sapling brushed against it and broke it free

      Agreed! I feel lucky I haven't caught a stick the wrong way yet.. Plan to order some guards this summer before a couple project I've got coming up. Thanks!

    Do ya find the R4’s tires are good for bush work or would the R1’s be better for traction?

    • @Academy_Farm
      @Academy_Farm  Рік тому +1

      R1s were designed for this type of work; pulling in the mud, so they'd be better. I don't do much of this type of work though, so R4s are better all around for me.

    Just curious if you have a video on your stump grinder? Wondering if it’s worth the purchase. Thanks

      I do! Pretty comprehensive review if you search the channel. Yes, for us, and most people with trees, it's well worth the purchase. Thanks!

    Neat little tractor. Do you have a grapple to help move the downed trees?😊

      Thanks! I do; this'll be my first go at cleaning up a mess like this so I'm looking forward to the challenge.

    Where did you buy your tooth bar and did you install it yourself? If so how easy was it to install?
    Thanks so much Mitchell

    • @Academy_Farm
      @Academy_Farm  Рік тому

      I ordered it online from BXpanded. Very simple to install; just drill 1 hole into each side of your bucket, near the factory edge, and bolt on. Yes, I did it myself.
      Good to see another Mitchell on here; I'm Mitch, too!

      Awesome thanks so much! I just bought a L2502 and have lots of trails to cut in! I definitely think it will be worth the money to invest in the tooth bar!
      Awesome it's always nice to find another Mitch out there!

    Were you able to pull 3-4 stumps out with your tractor?

    • @Academy_Farm
      @Academy_Farm  10 місяців тому

      3"-4" stumps? Yes, most of those are no trouble; especially the conifers in my area.

      I wasn't! Should have been in Low for this work. I pinned a comment here when I realized it... Good catch!

    Kids love their way overused catchphrases, like a ton of this and a ton of that, and everything is a ton, ton, ton, even though they're describing something that is not heavy at all.
