I guess I was lying when I said the Khamsin mix I made a while ago would be my last MGRR boss mix, because here this one is. It's actually been sitting on my hard drive for a while now - I made it before I went on vacation at the end of July - but I just never bothered uploading it.
With that said, this mix combines the Instrumental and Maniac Agenda Mix of the song that are actually in the game with the "original version" of the song - the beta-recording of the mix that they had in the game before they re-recorded it for the game's release. In spite of a couple of awkward moments between the singers, I think it turned out all right.
No word of lie this time, this is my last mix for MGRR. I've pretty much lost my interest in the game at this point, so I'm also not sure about doing anything else with the game, at least for right now. I'm still trying to figure out what I'll be doing with my other videos at the moment, as well. I have a decent idea of what to do, but I don't want to promise something that I can't keep immediately, so I'll hold back on it for now.

Funnily enough, Virgil and Jetstream sam have the same japanese voice actor, Hiroaki Hirata.
Edit: Hiroaki Hirata voiced Virgil ever since devil may cry 3, so no way did Platinum games unintentionally make him the voice actor for Sam, lol.

I realised Jack had a goal but not the drive to commit while Sam was the exact opposite. Willingness to go all out, but without a reason to fight other than fighting. And in the end Sam just tests Jack to see if he has become willing.

This guy, even without the cyborg enhancements and HF Blade, is probably stronger than Big Boss. That's scary. What's even *scarier* is imagining him with Vamp and Armstrong's nanomachines, and even some Cyborg enhancements on top of that (if it's possible). If he had all that then he'd probably be the single strongest Metal Gear character by a wide margin.

Same! I finally did Armstrong on Hard using Sam, but it was on PC so the boss fights were there when you complete the game. I think you unlock Sam & Bladewolf's bosses by finishing their campaigns.

How did you get the vocals sound different, did you use the Vocals Only version of it?
Interesting how Sam has a scar that's very similar to the one that he gave Raiden, possibly got it the same way too. Except he was able to keep his eye, unlike Raiden. Just one more subtle nod to his superiority in skills that Raiden managed to overcome through his cybernetics.

Its easy to think this theme is about sam, since its his fight song, but the lyrics are actually about Raiden embracing himself like Sam wanted him to.
"Memories broken, truth goes unspoken, i've even forgotten my name" Is about Raidens continual attempts to hide the killer he was as a child, attempting to bury the ripper persona and hide who he used to be (or rather, still is) from the people he loves, even going so far as to rename himself Raiden or mr Lightning bolt. Notice the people he loves call him Raiden, but his enemies all call him Jack because they see him for who he was and still is.
"dont know the season/the reason im standing here holding my blade" is about Raiden slowly losing his sense of purpose for his fighting throughout the game, slowly slipping back into the primal hunger for violence he had as Jack the Ripper and abandoning his facade of justice.
"a desolate place without any trace, its only the cold wind i feel"; this is probably describing the unfulfilling feelings Raiden has as a "hero", and how his crusade against the WINDS of destruction is driving him on not for justice's sake, but because killing and fighting makes him feel alive, in a way he probably hasnt in a long, long time.
"Its me that i spite as i stand up and fight, the only thing i know for real" is Raiden finally dropping his facade and no longer lying to himself (or rather, spiting). He still is Jack the Ripper, and he always will be. He is done denying it, and finally embraces the killer within.
"Man in the mirror nods his head" probably refers to Sam, Raiden's foil and rival who helped him to embrace the Ripper within, happy that he finally got Raiden to embrace what he already had; the urge to kill.
"the mountains dont give back what they take" is about Raiden trying to leave his Ripper persona behind in Liberia, but now knowing this unending lust for war cant be left behind, his loss of innocence on that battlefield cant be reclaimed; it died long ago, and now jack the ripper stands in its place.

It's more likely that the lyrics are about BOTH of them, rather than just being about Raiden or Sam, if you want to look at it as not being about Sam. I mean, just think about it, the lyrics fit with both of them, and Sam is a kind of rival to Raiden, so it works that way as well. Just assuming you've played the Ssm DLC, that would better contextualize what I'm saying.
Edit: forgot to mention about the little monologue before you fight Armstrong. That would also help.
Honestly all of the boss themes can be interpreted as applying to both Raiden and the boss, though to different degrees

Nah he's better as a DLC main character, a role that he already has.
They both are, since Raiden just continues what Sam has begun but failed to and Sam helps Raiden accepting his true self before facing monsoon.
Sam knew that Raiden could beat the senator and let him slash his way in where he could easily have stopped him. He just showed up to see how efficient Jack the ripper was against Desperados lieutenants, but I have in mind that he would have finished the business himself if Raiden failed.
He was the protagonist if you took the time to play his DLC campaign.

I'd like to see a version of this where Raiden dies, but Sam takes up his ideals, and takes the fight to Armstrong with the same urge to kill him he did back in DL-01. Like Sam could take him, he would know what to look out for fighting him a second time. I just wanted him to get proper payback for his lost arm man

awesomegmod Raiden with a weaker cyborg body suplexed a MG Ray. Sam was forcing THAT Raiden back with his sheer strength and Pierced THAT Raiden's left eye and sliced his left arm with EASE while still SMIRKING with his classic shit eating grin. He did all that while just CASUALLY testing Raiden's limits. Plus he was still slightly faster and stronger than Raiden even after getting his enhanced Cyborg Body. And the best part is , he's still a fully fledged human with just a power suit and cybernetic right arm ... You can now guess the obvious highway gap between skills strength and speed for yourself.
***** Sam was already massive strong , durable , agile and fast with a huge amount of stamina. He was cutting through 5 - 20 ton robots like the Metal Gears like nothing. As if it was all in a day's work. Sure his HF blade and the power suit he was wearing played a part on that. But his strength and durability played a many times MORE bigger part for him into doing all those feats. The only reason Raiden won was because he was either equal to him , or outclassed him no all those physical attributes by the end.
Only after killing Sam we realized that he was still Human ... A fucking HUMAN did all this shit mate ... I can't even BEGIN to imagine what would've went down , if Sam ever got the nano-machines modifications or Raiden's cyborg upgrades ...
As it stands , Sam's very easily , currently stronger than most of the mainstream Marvel heroes right now.
