Nether archaegology is a really good idea but a dagger with not cool down I think could have the potentional to be VERY strong, and mojang wouldn't want to add it becase they feel very negativly about pre 1.9 combat. Adding the vines back would help a bit

As someone who adores Trail Ruins, I got quite a lot to say about Archeology. Specifically, trail ruins are my favourite structure in the game. This is mostly because they feel very different in how they're played. It's not difficult in the traditional way, but some suspicious gravel spawns high up, or suspended in the air. If you dont have proper lighting, the suspicious gravel can more easily blend in too. These make it pretty easy to accidentally break suspicious gravel- and thereby whatever loot was inside. I don't really take points about loot for archeology super seriously, tbh. Archaeology is, in effect, loot chests but different. If the loot is bad, thats not really archeology's fault. They could include crafting parts for a new machine, or weapon, etc. and they just didn't- but that applies to all loot chests too. What i like about archeology is how it makes the environembt play a lot more into what you do there. Watching the ceiling & lighting are important in trail ruins. Managing your air bubbles is important in the ocean ruins. Neither of these things pressure the life of your character too much, but do still provide some good level of strategy that I think archeology enjoys very much. Some spaces, like the Desert Well & Temple don't really have as much of these difficulties, which I'd like, but I dont think they're required either. Also like loot chests, some are allowed to be basically free, and that's OK. As a side note, Bundles will complement much of archeology's current loot tables extraordinarily well- many of the decorative components stack to 64, which meshes nicely with bundles. This may not always be the case, but it's nice while it is. I think they could lean harder into the being careful part of it though. Having a buried structure with say, moving parts could easily shatter some gravel/sand and provide even more of a different challenge than even the trail ruins.
I like the trial ruins as a structure in theory and I enjoy the feeling of unearthing this large structure and speculating on what it could've been, but I"d almost rather just ignore the suspicious gravel and destroy it because things like magenta stained glass panes aren't worth my time. I'm not asking for a weapon or anything out of theme with the feature. I just want more depth added to the exsiting parts.
I don’t think Minecraft has a drowning in content problem. It has a LOT of content, but a lot of the content needs drastic improvements and I want Mojang to improve it that’s why I’m suggesting improvements not additional features
Honestly it’s a bit of both, The coding is pretty hard to code but they know how to do it, but the employees are so lazy they just don’t care enough. Another major factor, i like to spread false information across the internet.
Eh the java edition is because were dealing with Notch's spaghetti code and they have to code for 2 versions bedrock and java. I don't think mojang is lazy just bloated and inefficent
You also get the relic disc, even just for that it's rewarding. If you think about it archaeology is quite a genius feature, from my own experiences I've found its hard to be motivated to build something or just make any landmark or sign that I did something in my world. Most of my hours and progress on that world are to be found in my chests. This is an annoying habit since I do find great pleasure and satisfaction seeing things I built, if I come across a trail ruin I will dig it up because I wanna get the cool disc and armor trims to add to my chests and inadvertently I find myself having set up a little base with chests for the random trash I've found and a ladder to get down into the stupid hole in the ground that I dug. Now that random place in the forest has become a landmark and a small base. I think archaeology is just one of those features that is there to disctract you from things like "beating the game" and getting the best armor like so many youtubers making "why minecraft isn't *blank* anymore " videos seem to think. Minecraft usually stops being fun when you have your perfect armor and tools. It only starts getting fun when you start building and actually giving you're world some personality. Great video by the way, you have really solid editing.
Thanks for the compliment on my editing, I think of it as bad but appreciate the support nonetheless. I think people who get the best armor and stuff often struggle because they want minecraft to be a survival game with objective progress. Something more similar to terraria, I just wish if mojang was gonna have a major update surronding one feature it could have more depth. I think archaeology could be a lot better with more work, and thats all im advocating for
Most of the “crap” they have been adding is bad… like what’s the point of the sniffer?? Can we get like a Minecart revamp? Add different track options, movable tracks stuff like that!
Idk what you mean by movable tracks you can toggle tracks using red stone not sure how much movable you want. Also fundamentally Mine carts will nearly always be trumped by elytra/Ice boat highways. On the positive side there new experimental changes are helping
Archaeology is boring and uninteresting. Why do people defend this? you travel a long way, to brush a block for an annoyingly long time for a worthless reward. People make amazing mods that genuinely improve the game in a quarter of the time it takes Mojang to make an update. Not to say that all the updates are bad, although some are (the cliffs half of caves and cliffs).
I agree but I do prefer the cliffs part of caves and cliffs because it affects the surface which is where I spend a VAST majority of my time. Nearly every biomes generation changed after that update
If you just want overpowered items then don’t go to dig sites, they are completely optional. The Sniffer is entirely optional and is meant for decorative building flowers and to get a nicely colored dinosaur, the loot in archeology is meant to make sense (you can make a story or history based on what you find, I find things and that’s how I repair ancient trails correctly.) and contains armor trims and pottery. Both of those are optional customization things that just make the game cooler. Archeology is great for what it is, the only thing I want with it is some more stuff to dig up and explore. It’s plenty interesting, it’s great for exploring the underground trail and finding out what was used for what. Mojang updates are a once a year large update, any more than that and the game would be overcrowded and people would complain that it wasn’t “Minecraft enough”. They have a vision for the game and are doing what they do to fit that.

I think archaeology could be a lot better with more work, and thats all im advocating for
You deserve over a million subs
well you can help with that
why dis editing go so hard🔥🔥🔥

Most of the “crap” they have been adding is bad… like what’s the point of the sniffer?? Can we get like a Minecart revamp? Add different track options, movable tracks stuff like that!
Idk what you mean by movable tracks you can toggle tracks using red stone not sure how much movable you want. Also fundamentally Mine carts will nearly always be trumped by elytra/Ice boat highways. On the positive side there new experimental changes are helping
for real they just keep adding stuff without proper optimization or anything, updates fell off 1.16

They have a vision for the game and are doing what they do to fit that.
doesnt need to be said
