Garland Mfg. based out of Saco, ME, has been producing plastic pins for candlepin bowling for at least 30-40 years, so this isn't a new thing for us in the candlepin world, but when they first came out, people also were like "What is this" because they sound SO much different from the old wooden candlepins, which are pretty much no longer made anymore. The synthetic resin pins last a LOT longer than the wooden pins, and candlepin as a game is pretty hard on the pins.. The whole game itself is tough. As for these, yeah they sound so different, so we'll see what happens over time if these become more adopted or not, since they're so much more durable than wooden pins and do not need to be replaced nearly as often.
15:50 I'm actually surprised that you left just the 4-pin. From what I've heard, it seems that a very common complaint with Twisters or any synthetic pin like Brunswick Max-Life (outside of the sound of the pin itself) is that if you go high, you'll likely leave a 4-9. Not one or the other, but both.
Nice 😊 Always like to see centers repurpose their old wood lanes into something else usable for the center. Making them into table tops always look nice and adds character to the place.
If you ever come down south to Texas, I’ll be sure to give you plenty of recommendations for great centers throughout north and central Texas. Congrats on 1.5k subs!
Our center was using these grey necks all the way up to last year. But since we couldn’t find anymore we had to go to the twister red rings which I’m not a fan of over the greys. The red ring breaks off compared to the grey neck color. Got cases laying around in storage.
Congrats on the 1.5K subs! Nice to see they preserve the old lanes into tables, I like the idea. I've never seen this kind of Twister pins you have... pretty cool! Looks like they didn't connect the strike indicator light on the masking unit. Keep the great video coming!
Thanks! Twister pins definitely influence the pin action and sound of bowling! Not my favorite personally, but I like the variety of differences in pins. Thanks!
I normally don't like twister pins sound they make but when there up close they actually sound alot better for som reason. And I would love to see you bowl on amflite 2 wibc abc pins and the eagle pins
Love the wooden lane tables, gives a good atmosphere
I was hoping for a 300 Game right there but you got chocked in the 9th Frame lol Congrats on the 1.5k subs and awesome Bowling on the Twisters!
I knew something was off that 9th frame, I should have baulked like Sean Rash lol

So cool they made hi-top tables out of their own lanes. Great video.

Thank you! I don't have any plans to go there yet, but I'm looking forward to the suggestions
Nice stroke. Good bowling. I have a Vulcan pin from 1950s, never used. It was given to me by my godmother who worked at a hotel/bowling center in Mn.
You mean strike
I love your videos so much I keep watching the old ones
They had to have brought in a forklift to put those tables in. Four guys on a five-foot lane section and it was still back-breaking. Worth it though.
Happy 1.5K subs! And I really love how those brick Twisters look!
Awesome I may have smashed them pins when I bowled ABC that year

The brick gray twisters are a rarity these days! I personally like them more than the red stripe too
@@PinDominator You personally them more? What?

They used to have the working strike light a long time ago. Thanks!
Great video! I hope I get to experience the Twister pins one day even tho they sound not as good as wooden pins. Btw, congrats on 1.5K!

I prefer twister pins over wood pin
I love your shirt man! Where can i get some?
Thanks, my mom got it for me for Christmas :D
18:48 It's almost like I've seen that pin before. Sorry, Randy.
Randy's always paying me a visit lol

Twisters do sound pretty neat up close interestingly. Unfortunately I do not have a case of the ABC Amflites or Eagles :(
Congrats on 1.5k subs! Playing bowling for a living is fun but I'm a 10 yo kid, btw is that brunswick a speed?
Thanks! I don't bowl for a living tho, I ain't that good lol
Bruh you almost get a 300 game, for me I never get a strike, I ever played bowling once but in different country in Malaysia, I'm Indonesia
looks like that shaker board is having a hard time getting pins back to the pinwheel, for whatever reason
Yeah I noticed that.
Yeah, Lakeside's shakers have always stunk. It's not the pins
or they aren't using enough pins. 21 per lane please.
@greenmachine6146 there were 20 pins in the pinsetter
What was up with the pins not getting back to the pin wheel very fast. Sad they have star shields masking units and they are not active.
@@lightingnut They probably neglect shakerboard maintenance. On the low end, most of their lanes share this problem.
the 1 and 2 ball lights need work
All the lanes need ball lights work haha
They have strike indicating lights too that aren't in operation
@@PinDominator - the strike lights only work when the star shields are turned on
Really not a fan of the sound. Kinds dead.
That's synthetic pins for ya. I enjoy the pin action tho!
