  • Raw and burnt umber are two types of natural pigments commonly used by artists. But what's the difference between the two and how do they mix with other colours? I test out the two colours and show how they work in a painting.

    Which is more transparent ?

      They're both pretty opaque. If you're looking for a transparent version of either, Liquitex has those available. I haven't tried it in either of these colours, but I have tried transparent yellow oxide, which is beautifully transparent
