I would say that the more strength you have the better, absolutely. If you'd be able to do a 200%BW pull-up I would assume you're not many weeks away from the OAP (still need to get used to only using one arm...). I have heard of people that could do OAP, then focused on weighted and seriously leveled up, then could never regain the OAP. But this seems very implausible. I would say that working on WPUs is always a good bet. However, for those that cannot wait to pursue the OAP, you can start training for it whilst doing weighted pull-ups (at least if you got some pretty good WPUs already)
Yep, in my experience OAP led to some gains with weighted pull-ups. Far from what I would have been able to do if training only WPUs but very positive given that I wanted to at least maintain the weighted pull-ups whilst achieving the one-armer
These are excellent tips, you could do training phases, such as OHP for 3 months then weighted pull-ups 3 months and alternate
Thanks man! And yeah, very true! That's a good way of doing it as well --> alternating phases of strength and skill focus 💪
As always, solid vid and very informational. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it 🔥
Nice vid bro! And good tips
Thanks bro, much appreciated 💪🦍
What about going for weighted pull-ups/chin-ups until bodyweight (or more) and gain the OA pull-up "for free", at least in terms of strength?

So did u see thar the OAP carried over to weighted pull ups or at Least maintenaned or improve weighted pull ups?
