Major kudos on standing up for that lady. I have been a biomed for 14yrs and have never attempted to take the test. I personally always felt like the test is a scam. I guess it looks good on a resume but that is about it in my opinion. But good job on passing though.

I took my test back in 2014. The wait for knowing if I passed sucked! It was out of pocket and only paid back by my employer if I passed. I hated all the imaging questions they threw in. Worst part now is keeping up on on the recertification.

And they repeat questions and the answers are even more closer to each other in being correct

    Great job Justin,
Sorry about the chaos with your test. My proctor was very organized, very deliberate in everything they did. Watched us lock our stuff up, spot on with checking our ID's and followed the test procedures. They were very friendly. I commented on some questions as well, having the opportunity, I took it for sure. I took the test the same time as a coworker, and he tore the keyboard up even more than I.
I wholeheartedly believe the test was written by people who have been out of the day to day of what we do. Some hoity toity better than thou types just looking to reinforce their egos, thus the gotcha questions.
And AAMI, please get better at each step of the testing process. It MUST be seamless. No registration issues, no email glitches, no website crashes or slowdowns. We are the customer, we are paying for the test, again, we expect perfection. Or at least make the processes easy like ordering on Amazon. And what is it with having to wait for scores, i.e. another coworker having to wait for his CHTM results??!?!?! Luckily, my CHTM test processes went well, my CBET registration was horrible. All in all, glad I took the tests, CBET was a great score, CHTM, not so much.

Congrats from one CBET to another! I’ve taken multiple IT/clinical exams and unfortunately what you’ve expressed doesn’t stop with that exam. I can see you starting a RadTechBootcamp/Udemy style of modules/courses but for BMET/CBET. That program style is becoming a staple for Radiologic Technologist programs.

Congratulation Justin passing the exam I’m very happy to you, role model to all of us. I was about to pass the test two but I missed eight questions. The biggest challenge is the cost of the exam. I wish if one day Employers will cover the cost or half of the exam so everybody get an opportunity to take the test. Sadly, and unfortunately, everything about money.

thanks for sharing. My son will face this some day. I worry for him too because his ASD (formerly Aspergers) makes test taking extra cumbersome.

I disagree with the specific model being mentioned as not every biomed would know that model but I do agree that "monitor" is a very generic term. I believe physiologic monitor, vital signs monitor, display monitor would be a better descriptor to point the test taker in the correct direction.

Man, I am in I.T. and the certification questions in my world are just as bad, unclear, and many times wrong. It's so frustrating. Why are these tests like this? I remember growing up in school and tests were so straightforward. What happened to the world!? ... Oh and congratulations on passing!

I hear you on taking tricky IT exams with vague scenarios that are best answer or least likely. Some questions are often between two answers based on one or two keys words. Attention to detail often might be between pass or fail.

@@brandonplank4233 I took the AAMI class prior to the exam. They said the pass rate is 52% of the people and I believe it. If you have 69% on any category of the test, you fail. Even if the test as a whole you pass. You still fail. Tough test.

You & others out there have been stressed about the CBET exam, & many compare themselves to their peers. Not everybody is on equal footing to start with. In the beginning (I think late 70’s), there was no study guide & just a list of 5 textbooks to study. Not many passed. The release of study guides increased the pass rate. With the Army recently, I have personally witnessed the extreme, where they hire a company to help teach Army BMETS, most of who recently completed training. These companies know a lot about the CBET exam & provide practice questions close to or exactly like the questions on the exam- close to being answer key studies. This exponentially increases the pass rate. Secondly, Army CBET candidates count their school training as time of experience, which really moves them forward in numbers. This likely does not produce more proficient biomeds, but does produce CBETS in larger quantity. I see comments here of multiple failures in taking the CBET exam, but keep in mind that not everyone starts with equal footing in resource & this does not reflect your intelligence in comparison to your professional peers.

I'm pretty sure that I've been the biggest critic of the CBET certification. However, I know that some doors are closed without it and I don't like that realization.

@@BetterBiomedChannelThe CBET should be more like what the BAR is for lawyers & the PE is for engineers. It should also be administered the same way with everyone starting the test with equal advantage.
