  • We wanted show you the difference between the new range of Pulsar Axion handheld thermal monoculars, to help you choose the right one for your needs and your budget.
In this second test you’ll see unedited footage from the Axion XM30F, alongside the Axion 2 XQ35 and Axion 2 XG35 at long range - over 500m. So you can compare the image quality that helps you detect people or animals the size of a rabbit across a couple of fields.
You’ll see a number of different warm objects, and we’ll explain what’s going on for each Axion while we adjust some of their settings and test out their digital zoom.
See part 1: Comparing close range identification here: • XM30F vs XQ35 vs XG35....
See part 3: Comparing Maximum range detection here: • XM30F vs XQ35 vs XG35....

Very helpful, as was part 1. Thanks. I see an XG35 LRF in my future.

This review set is perfect for answering my questions on these systems and others too. Examples include whether they could be used in daylight - quite apparent here!
My budget isn't big and I'll be headed for the cheapest model shown here - my first ever.
My actual line of interest is in low light photography. When I'm out there in the countryside doing my 'thing', I'm always curious as to what made sounds on the land around me. (my photography is a type of light painting and done on static subjects such as ruinous castles)
Time to buy myself a treat methinks!

This will be such an asset to your kitbag. The clarity will be even better at night, as the ambient temperature cools it's easier to pick out warm objects like birds, animals and ruinous castles (that will have absorbed the suns energy during the day).
I think you'll get a lot from the different colour palettes and the XM30s ability to record pictures and video.
Keep an eye out for our 'One Minute Guides.' There's a few more being planned to help new thermal users understand and get the most out of any Pulsar device.

Cheers! Have you seen part 1, 3 & 4 of the Axion Mega test? They're good too.

Thanks, will do. We're just about to publish the next video in the series to test these three Axion at a REALLY LONG RANGE. Make sure you watch it on our Thomas Jacks channel.

No worries - we only show genuine footage in real situations to demonstrate what thermal imaging can do. All three of these easily detected someone over 500m away - way beyond what you'd see with the naked eye. If you need more detail, have a look at the Pulsar Merger, or Pulsar Telos.
