Awesome Kingfish! That’s actually the final species I’m after(that I’m aware of) for kingfish I don’t have yet! Great catches! In FL I typically catch gulf or southern. As for Spanish mackerel I landed my lifer (the Atlantic Spanish mackerel) on a freshwater in-line spinner! The brand I believe is blue wolf? It’s a set of 5 and the teal green one landed me 3 new species the first hour after trying it for salt😂 that’s one of the reasons I love experimenting with freshwater lures in saltwater; many of the bright colors that rarely work in freshwater are huge hits with saltwater species
Thank you! Best of luck on your hunt! I got my Spanish Mack in Florida and also got my Gulf Kingfish down there! I believe the spinners you’re referring to are Blue Fox. I do well on them when targeting stocked trout in freshwater
What works best for me in south jersey on any beach out front a1/4 oz round jig head tipped with a 6in white gulp swimming shad just jig jig drop in the surf you will catch flounder
That’ll be the plan this summer! I had gotten a new saltwater setup that’ll be great for all sorts of species so I’ll be doing a lot of jigging for some flounder as well as tossing metals around for blues.

14:25 that’s definitely a grunt but not too sure about pigfish… haven’t seen anything like that myself, interesting catch for sure

It was a northern king fish southern king fish are usually larger then the northern they co.e here already good size
Yeah after I dove more into the pictures I took I could tell that it was a Northern, but I’m always a little indecisive in the field hahah
