Whether you like to use design trends or prefer to stay away from them; I love to try and predict them! I hope everyone is having a great end to the year, I'm so stoked for next year :). ❤
This year was fire! I learned so much from all your videos! Thank you!
Thank you so much :)
IMHO serifs and maximalism are ugly and hard to read/understand
I prefer clean and perfect design than that piece of individual garbage
Thank you so much Will for the heads up, your content delivery really helps. Really appreciate your time you take to teach
These are fun, I'd love to see a recap at the end of the year to go over trends of that year and whether your predictions were accurate
what I love about these trends that extend to anything visual is that we see both globally (the inannet) that both maximalist tastes and minimalist tastes are growing. that's leading to some really cool art and UI designs where bright loud elements of maximalist designs are missed with the efficient functionality of a minimalist approach.
I'm sooo ready for 2024🎉
The sparks ✨ in your eyes while predicting more logotypes 😄
Let’s gooo 2024!!!
Love the sellout in the end 😂 No but I totally agree that hand lettering is ”back”. Happy new year!
This was great, thanks for the video.
I love this trends!!! I wanna be an active designer this year 😭❤️
FRUIT S A L A D D D D !!!! - Dude I am binging your videos for the last week... you know what was amazingly valuable - your start up 'mistakes' video! Just Whow! its so difficult to image you guys as start ups! Keep it up and thank you soooo much for not just teaching but entertaining us too!!!!
Glad you like them! :D
and I predict that Comic Sans will make its glorious comeback

Great! Waiting for some exciting interesting content like this in 2024 from you ❤...
And..Happy new year 🎊
Happy new year!!
This is great! I've designed my website to make it look like its from the 90s. work in progress.
Wow, what an insightful glimpse into the design trends of 2024! 🚀 Loved the breakdown of predictions, especially the rise of Bubble Writing and the embrace of Ultra Vibrancy. The idea that our generation is moving away from the cookie-cutter and craving more individuality is so spot on. Bubble writing has this unique, squishy charm that's refreshing and adds character.
The emphasis on vibrant colors and the connection to advancements in screen technology is fascinating. It's incredible how screen advancements are influencing design choices, creating a more visually stimulating experience. Also, the mention of Bento layout is intriguing-organizing information in a compact, yet visually appealing manner is a game-changer.
The exploration of utilitarian design and its paradoxical aesthetic is a bold move. It's like appreciating the raw, unmasked side of design, which resonates with the current minimalist trend. And AI imagery making its mark, not as a replacement but as a tool in the designer's arsenal, is an exciting evolution.
The Serif Plus prediction is a breath of fresh air, especially the idea of quirky serifs adding character to brand identities. The explanation about screen technology making serifs more legible is an interesting insight.
Maximalism as a reaction against minimalism is a trend I'm all for! The aesthetic of excess and vibrant colors showcasing diversity and individuality is a visual treat. The Mascots and Cartoons comeback is nostalgic and fun-bringing back those expressive characters is a delightful move.
Lastly, the resurgence of hand-lettered logo types is heartening. The imperfection that adds character and soul to designs is something we can all connect with.
Thank you for this insightful breakdown! Looking forward to seeing these trends unfold in the design landscape. Also, Logo Launch sounds like an incredible course for diving deep into bespoke logo type design. Cheers to a creative and vibrant 2024! 🎉
love the food examples :D great video! :)
its so cool to see brazilian work being mentioned!
a beautiful vision congratulations 👏
Damn you're right I do almost all the things you just say! Well I'm in love with retro font, saturated color, hand writing font since last years but still, impressive
These trends are quite exciting to check out and get inspired! My only personal concern is how the aesthetics of the bubbly one will last, especially if it doesn't have a backing for brand's strategy, for example. Other than that, trends are extremely cool to find and support designers, but additionally, in my opinion, it should be a tool to start navigating your work, and not something to complete rely on, when working on client projects (unless, of course, it makes sense for the client's business or campaign, etc.)
Great Video and looking forward to 2024! Bubble Writing and Handlettering definitely are my favorites for next year. Also as an illustrator, seeing the come back of Mascots fills my heart with joy! I always envied Japan for having a mascot for literally everything while here in the west we used to be minimalistic as heck and even threw out mascots. Glad that they might be everywhere soon (as long as it's not clippy.......)
it's funny though how on one hand people yearn for personality and individualism. For a Design to have soul. But on the other hand they use generative AI which is just soulless. Kind of contradictory in my opinion.
Love your info share but music could be better. Thank you
Hey! Great summary! Seems like 2024 will be an exciting year for graphic designers!
I'm glad you talked about AI in a rational way, as a lot of designers these days impose a fear over that (to either fear it or to really really strive to make massive progress as not to lose your job a designer, which I myself think it's bonkers and too exaggerated).
Bubble writing and jelly mascot combo 👌🏼
yeees!
Have nice new year, bro! Cheers from Hungary!
Happy new year!
I love Bubble Writing. 😅
It's really fun for me, as a Brazilian, spotted that you used A LOT of brazilian folders for music festivals and stuff to show exemples of vibrant collors trend. Brazil making tendency? hahaha
a gente tem umas mentes muito brilhantes por aqui!
My typography teacher in college was from São Paulo and talked about the design influence from there, even 30 years ago. Love it!
I'm so excited for ALL of these. I have a natural preference for bright colors and maximalism in all areas of design so I'm really looking forward to this!
Are you serious right now?
As I said in my other comment:
"IMHO serifs and maximalism are ugly and hard to read/understand
I prefer clean and perfect design than that piece of individual garbage"
I think good design is good design. As far as trends go, well the bubble/sticker word effect was trendy 2 years ago. Even in 2024 you can update a retro style. So I wouldn't jump on trends b/c then you will get stuck trying to make that trend work even when it doesn't. But nice informative video.
I have enough of these extremes! Come with me, embrace MEDIUMALISM
Would love to join the Logo Launch course!
Really enjoy watching your content 😊 can you please make a video on pricing
Sure thing!
WoW
Hi, maybe a stupid question, but I really like the poster you have next to you at 10:46. Do you remember where you got it?
keren bang❤❤❤
Rajeev Mehta Sir🙌🙌 0:40
Do I need a Wacom tablet to do graphic design?
that tickled my pickle. thank you!
Perfect!
Im watching this video as I am working on my portfolio. Which contains A. Mascot, B. Bubble letters, and C. Bright vibrant colors all for one project. Lol you def got those trends down. This is coming from someone who tries to stay away from trends.
Yeah! These styles are trending now, but it won't last too long I don't think :)
❤❤❤
❤
Nice

Thanks!
Question for the community, At 3:48 the designs WILL showed, I wanted to know, where such posters are actually used.. I have worked with clients and companies but no one actually needed it. On the contrary, I definitely like the minimal presentation it has.. So, m just curious to know how or where to use that?
I added a Milanote link so you can see all the posters and work in use :D
great video
Thanks!
What your think of helvetica
Merry Christmas man!🎄✨
And a great video!! ❤️
Btw I have to tell you, in the thumbnail, the 3D text "DESIGN" has a poor render quality I think, you need to change that!
I tried! I need a new method of exporting from illustrator to Photoshop. Thanks for watching mate :)
@@willpatersondesign ❤️
Bento box is also very De Stijl
Enojed the video a lot. I simply can't get myself to like the first two examples and mascots. I call them "Behance" trends. Last 2 years, if you made any mediocre project using those aesthetics, your post would simply blow up and everyone would be so amazed.
I am not a fan of "trends" per se because of my design field, however some trends are inevtiable. I've recently started using AI images for some of my projects and it turned out great. It's not a replacement for anything, but a tool, like you've said.
Why do most youtube graphic designers use gigantic microphones and microphone stands? Thanks for the video. It's great.
yaaay
Where did you buy your hat?
Can you please list some useful bubble typeface we can use.
F37 Burton is lovely! 🙂
@@Danny-tt6jz thanks
Can we say, ios control centre is inspired by bento design
I think AI will be so ubiquitous that people will crave hand made stuff
Basically going backwards... I recall many of these from my youth...some that inspired me to imitate and copy as I learned...
It always comes back! :)
@@willpatersondesign very true..
AI will be used by more and more people because they don't have the talent to actually design, so they will use a push-button solution to promote what isn't theirs. Design, music, cinema, the list goes on. Your hand-lettering, especially on paper, is always thrilling to see being created before our eyes.
not only music is in a retrovolution

Keep up the good work brother! God bless the New Year!
thank you for choosing Ukrainian posters/ it is important for us
When do we get a maximilism tutorial 👀
Good idea :)
Does somebody know the brand of his sweater?
River island :)
Who's the artist behind 2:15? I loved their work but there's no visible credit
So everything created with a showel will do, got it.
Are you behind the elevenlabs voice that so many people are using?
Can i learm 2024 plz reply me
Modernity. 🤓
0:13 Hello guys, what is this webstie?
My pickle was tickled 🤌🏻
Bubble letters filled my notebooks in 1998
These all apply to 2023 already though
Who is deciding the trends to be “this or that”? Just asking.
Hat.
That was quick!
It's not individualistic. It is group think after group think. Called a fad. Individualism doesn't exits in the internet age anymore.
Spot on - these fads only target certain groups who respond with their attention and wallet.
😁😆😆
No agree
Yikes, back to the nineties but with bigger fonts.
Can someone please let me know why you cannot be a popular creative without using a thick chunky keyboard with one inch deep keys?
I don't like using them but then that must make me unloveable or something?
Haha, I don't think it's a prerequisite! Use whatever keyboard you like :D
@@willpatersondesign Hi Will, thanks for getting back to me and I must say your channel is an absolute delight, nice work. Having said that I must insist that clunky new/old keyboards and creative YT Content Creators do seem to have an extremely high correlation beyond that of pure coincidence thats all I'm saying...
O al cliche 😂😂😂😂
No music over your voice please
Bubble is still cringe, especially 3d versions
fk anyone who uses AI as a GD. ur not a GD your a businessman with a laptop
10th prediction. AI WILL END YOUR CAREER.
Pardon, lack of aesthetic, in nothing's design philosophy ? Seriously ? Ahahahah
Avoid trends unless you want your work to look cliche, amateurish and just like every single other designer on planet Earth doing the exact same thing they saw in this video.
Let’s gooo 2024!!!
