    Matt this is very well done. Thank you for this and all your videos. I have the same condor bag, Stanley cook set and GSI cup and have considered using a stuff sack. Either way, your video reminded me to put a cotton bandana in my kit as a back up water filter. Really like the canteen pouches too! Man you have a great plan there. Great video and thanks again!

    When I first started I packed up a cheap Chinese water bottle holder. I thought I had everything I needed in there. Then I went looking in there for something, and I could never get it all back in the way I had it. I tried, all I did was break the zipper. Great packing job and kit, Matt..

    Nice kit! Just bought a maxpedition 10x4 h2o pouch with shoulder strap, pad, and two maxpedition pouches....one for each side. Starting my load out purchases now. Your video gave me some great ideas for my hiking/survival h20 pouch. I especially like the way you utilized the bandana to easily access your cooking set. I will definitely use that idea! There are some changes I would do... like a little more comprehensive FAK, I would lose the whistle for sure! That thing won’t last long (I know, I had one!LOL!) I replaced it with a Couhglans 4 in 1 pealess whistle, compass, magnifying glass and thermometer combo.much better quality and much smaller. Takes up much less room. I also have one attached to my hiking staff. After 3 years, they are working great! Cutting tool, like a SAK Hiker(great saw!), and a few other changes and additions. But your video and kit are awesome, and I look forward to future videos!! Thanks! Great job!

    Mid 70's lol. I won't be seeing anything that high for about nine months. You are right on one thing though. Each kit is different. For example, your kit has way less porn and hooch than mine does. I guess you have to pack for the environment you are in.

  • @bartwalker474
    @bartwalker474 5 років тому +1

    Hi Matt! How are you Sir? I can tell you are evolving and changing not only the gear you carry your kit in, but also the actual contents of the kit. It's a natural progression towards higher end gear that weighs a lot less and serves the same function. The 10 C's and all that. We all go through this evolution. I like what you have in your kit. I like that it weights only 5 or 6 pounds or whatever you said. I liked your pistol belt with the butt pack and the ammo pouches filled with tunafish pouches that contained crackers inside. I am still using mine. It looks so much like yours it would surprise you. I like the suspenders etc. etc. I have ALICE packs and 3 day assault packs if I actually go on an overnighter, but I find for a hike around with my friends and family the pistol belt works best to disperse weight and even the load. The military got it right. I thank you for showing me how to set it up and put an Amazon box inside the butt pouch to make it all ride better on the pistol belt. Thanks Man! I like your videos and learn things from each on I see. keep on trucking Matt-you! Stay away from those alligators unless they are awesome looking Florida Gators cheerleaders. Ha Ha.

    I think a good tourniquet and leather gloves people lack of having people would want to protect their hands you get a scrape burn splinter cut in your hand you will be done. Plus keep your hands somewhat more cleaner, when I'm out with out gloves setting up camp by the time I get done my hands are dirty.
    Leather gloves help when pulling the hot pot off the fire gathering wood ext. Great kit thank you for sharing I think I will look at my bottle bag closer and maybe I can modify it also maybe there is more space that I've over looked like maybe fit a ground blanket in it they make those smaller and lighter. A fruit plastic bag at the Grocery store they can be folded or rolled up real tiny and take up no room at all.

    Wow! What are you gonna put on your long johns when it get below 50??? LOL! Nicely done on the video as per usual. I think there's some room for a Spam single or two in there yet. I believe that those 5-1 whistles are one of the cheapest insurance policy you can take out in the woos with you. Mega woods walker did a video on them a week or so ago. I asked him to field test it and to see if you could actually start a fire with ferro rod that's on it. It took him a bit, but it can be done. I'm going to have to look at getting myself one of the pouches now to go along with the stove ya talked me into. I;m gonna have both billed to you!! LOL!

    • @nowakezoneforever6021
      @nowakezoneforever6021 3 роки тому

      @@FloridaBoyBushcraftSurvival it would be to give a little more room since the Stanley in the cup fits so snug. However, yesterday I was messing with mine and it seems the insulation is attached to the outer cordura, not the inside material. So it would be much more tedious than simply cutting away that inside piece. I’ll stick with the stuff sack and yes, there’s now a handkerchief in my kit! 😉

    Revisiting this video a year later how are you still liking it? Have you changed it much or are you still running it that way? That does seem like a lot of weight for a single strap and it looks a tad unwieldy; how does it carry? I have a few different water bottle carrier kits and find them useful but recently I picked up a Hazard 4 Rocket '17 sling bag that I might go with instead.

    • @FloridaBoyBushcraftSurvival
      @FloridaBoyBushcraftSurvival  5 років тому +1

      It is still set up the same way. The wide strap really distributes the weight and it does not feel heavy at all. It really carries well and does not get in the way....
