Hi, I'm Pete. Northern Works is all about DIY furniture and home improvement projects that help us to consume less, and create more. I've got an ever-growing list of projects, and I'm excited to learn how to build things that I want to use, and that we'd love to see around our home.
If you value great design, but want to consume less of the fast furniture, then I'd love for you to join our community here on UA-cam where we can learn together and share ideas.

Hi mate! Sorry to keep going on about the flue, but it is important (I’m a gas engineer btw) the minimum hight for the flue termination from the roof is 1000mm. The one you installed looked about 300mm. If it snowed there’s a real possibility the duke termination will get blocked up. If I were to come round to service your boiler I would have to class this as “at risk” and turn off your boiler.
Also it looked like it was touching the wooden beam? This is class as a compostable material and is also not allowed, maybe you could slide a metal plate between them 🤷‍♂️
Anyway I don’t want to sound like I’m nagging or being pedantic, just trying to be helpful.
    Great video my mate 👌

Not at all chief, super helpful as always. I’ll get that sorted asap. This is why UA-cam is great!

How much weight can you safely put on those fence posts?
And I do expect something to try to keep light, dust and sound from going over the fence into the neighbors space.

It has been nice watching you build your workshop. I'm looking forward to seeing how things progress! My workshop is a old shed in my backyard. I may tear it down one day and built a new one day.. Cheers!

Looking good Pete and good timing considering the July we've had in the North West (and rest of UK to be fair).

Good work fell. The comment at the end about being in a space that inspires makes a lot of sense! My basement is meant to be my workspace but it’s messy at the moment so not used. Might just give it a tidy soon…

Love to see you make a home in new workshop space. I'm also not electrician in UK (I'm licensed in EU). However, You should put electrical cable (looks like standard 3x2.5mm2) in some mechanical shielding. This would create extra protection from tearing up isolation and opening live wires. In US this is called Romex (probably a brand there). In EU you can buy some plastic/metak tubing with standard sizes ( fi. 18 or fi. 25).

Yeah, I’ve been thinking about a lockable cabinet for the power tools. The gates are secure, but I guess you can’t be too safe

Dam Pete that's coming along really nicely. Can't wait see what workbench you go for?? Must say though that tool cart is crying out for another one with a mitre saw stand in-between it mitre station done!! 💥 Love the storage idea. A Done sommit similar in my shop although am having move out that!🤬🤬🤬 Not impressed that's for another comment what u could also do is stick few cross sections across front to give u space stand them vertically. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍
