- In this video, I’ll show you around the Logitech X-230 2.1 speaker system. For best results listening to the sound, I’d advise you to use some good quality speakers or earphones, so you get a better idea what they sound like.
The speakers have a great sound for what they’re made for but can distort with everything set to maximum volume - this can also vary on the quality and type of music.

Same! Although the speaker wire end that goes into your computer can fail (prolonged bending of the wire can cause internal cable split, like for iPhone charging cables). Then it only gives sound into one speaker. If/when that happens, this might help: ua-cam.com/video/jCpuWcu0ydc/v-deo.html

Got them back in 2006? 2008 perhaps? Right speaker just stopped working sadly. Did not think that looking for a replacement would be that difficult! Considering the PreSonus Eris 3.5 or 4.5 at the moment.
I had these speakers for YEARS. They never failed me, but I thought it was time to upgrade. I just ordered the Logitech G560 Lightsync speakers. I'm hoping they are just as good, if not better. But yeah, these X-230's? WONDERFUL speakers. Would give them a solid 10 out of 10. Great quality and they last for YEARS if you take care of them.
Did you get your mew one? Are they worth the Upgrade?
@@GamerDan89 I did indeed. I had mixed feelings at first. I unboxed the new G560's, set them up and AT FIRST I felt like they didn't sound as good. But as I have used them more, I've gotten used to them and I do like them. I would suggest anyone upgrade to them, they are quality. But then, I have stuck with Logitech speakers for a very long time, I like their product.
I have had my x-230 for 15 years and it still works, currently I use it with a plx500 record player
20 years later, my logitech x-230 still works fine.
Just like others have said, mine are still working perfectly! I actually bought the Z533 Logitech speakers a few years ago and they already conked out on me. The old guard is still king
Bought them about 15 years ago, considered them probably the best in its price class, still in almost daily use. Keep the bass knob between 1/3 and 1/2 to avoid overdrive (too boomy sound) and everything else seems to be quite in balance.
I've had these speakers for ages now. Got them used from my son when changing colleges. Incredible from the outset personal tests for booming and ripping IN YO FACE Motorhead's live "Everything Louder Than Everyone Else" to my staple home/office classical FM radio streaming WBJC 91.5 from Baltimore (but at different eq settings LOL). World class bang for the buck and (knock on wood) I've never needed a reason to change.
I have so much respect for these speakers, with the knob on the sub at max, the damn thing shakes my whole room, and close to the whole floor, u can also hear it from the basement. Best cheap speakers on the market
This is the best set of PC speakers you can get for 15$. Just set the bass speaker volume fairly low and it's mint.
i picked up a z523 sub/amp
and im using that with the X-230 speakers it dosent work with out some tinkering though but that just makes a amazing combo

Was thinking of buying new speakers since I had these for at least 13 years. But they still work great, so I'm keeping these.
Year 2005. The last time I've bought PC speakers. 17 years and yet still using them.
Best sounding computer speakers ever in terms of vfm. Just turn the bass setting down (almost off) and you'll get a good bass without its tendency for the base to overwhelm.
I have these same speakers. I cant remember when i go them. they sound great though.

I've had mine for over 16 years, and they're still going strong. I just tried to replace them recently with the logitech z623, but they just weren't the same, so I sent them back. I don't know how I'm going to find a replacement. The sound these provide is too perfect, for me.
bro mine aernt working, the green light wont turn on, any tips?
The only flaw to these is the bass is to much even at zero in reverberant spaces but rolling something up and blocking the port works perfectly. Makes them work as a superior sound bar replacement. Ive been looking at alternatives for a new system but I know the chances of being disappointed for a lot more money are high, Its hard to believe how far 20 watts can go until you hear them :)

Subwoofer works hard.. it gives hard loud sound and it can be disturbing for neighbours. Do you have any idea how can i turn it to minimum ? even the switch is alrady on minimum, its still too loud. Thank you
I have 2 sets of these and both still working, but also both have little subwoofer problems (one more than another), the subwoofer doesn't work all the time and I have to "play with "subwoofer bass adjusting button" to make the subwoofer start playing again or even give it a hard tap.
Any idea of we are able to use the sub as part of another system such as car audio?

Today I sadly packed my x230:s away. They still work but theres something wrong with wiring. Almost 20 years they lasted. Doubt my new speakers will do the same.

I bought just the subwoofer at Goodwill. Is it possible to use it with just the subwoofer and no speakers?
I doubt it as the aux jack is from one of the satellite drivers, so the subwoofer has no input connection for a media source/device. Although if you were to open the subwoofer enclosure up and connect the wires on the sub driver directly to an amplifier, that would work. Hope this helps!
Mine broke after 10 years still the best speakers plus subwoofer i ever had it's a shame they don't sell them anymore.
Have a look at ebay. Full of Logitech. Even with this model.

@@kristiant96 Well done! Happy for your success Kristian. Connected the set with a jack to RCA cable to the subwoofer output on my ONKYO amplifier. The door and the windows were shaking.
Help me pls, when i put the jack in my pc or in my cellphone, they don't work... :(
Try restarting both devices to see if that fixes it. You can also try anotber AUX cable, and make sure the green light on the main satellite is on (this means the speaker system has power), or a different audio device (a different phone for example). If it still doesn't work, your speake system will most likely have a fault. Hope this helps!

These speakers don't have a Bluetooth function.

The volume control on the satellite was around 60% and the bass was 100%. With everything set to 100% it sometimes sounds distorted.
