- Today in this video I will be sharing my 12 year later review on my old reliable speakers these are my absolute favorites when it comes to bang for your buck. Sound quality is good and they've lasted 12+ years with a 32W max out put (20w Sub + 6w Speakers x2) definitely surprised on the sound

16 years and the bass and quality still doesn't dissapoint
i agree
I bought my logitech x-230 2005 and its still works great! On/off Button works too, and i switched the Button eyery morning on and in the evening off, since 20 years (nearly) What a unbreakable Speaker.
I scored a working set of these recently at Goodwill for $12. They sound great in my Street Fighter arcade cab.
Nice score, I just scored a set at goodwill to for $15!
Just picked one up for 12 😂
I am listening to this video on this sound system I found it in a corner collecting dust today and it sounds good
I have 3 of them at Home! 1 for my TV, 1 for my Gaming-PC and 1 for my Phone (Music).
They are just amazing and the last ones, I bought them used for 5 Swiss Francs (about 6 US-Dollar). They are just amazing and I don't see the Point replaicing them. Of course they dont have BT or LED, but they're here for sound, that's it!
All 3 of them are still working perfectly.
Favorite speakers of all time, fully agree.
With the newer speakers you pay for bt and led, but durability will lack, with old things they had to be good and reliable otherwise no one will buy them, it's just consumer trick.
I think I bought mine in 2006 or 2007 sometime when I was a bacholar. Had so many laptops & PC's utilizing this set. Currently married with a kid and this system is still going strong. They don't make them like they used to. Will probably install in my coffin someday.
I still have mine and use them almost daily, only thing that i changed was the speakers after 10 years the on and off button doesn't work, so they are on all the time, either way this was one of the best purchases of speakers i ever did.
I had the Logitech X-530's which uses the same speaker style, you can rotate and if I'm correct, you can do the same with these to mount to the wall behind or in front of you desk/monitor. On the baseplate stand, there is a spot to hang on a nail, made specifically for that and you can orientate the speaker itself to your liking.
I currently use the Z323, what these became, which includes RCA inputs on the subwoofer. Paired with a Creative Fatal1ty Professional card and using their console for the surround and equalization and... others in my office can't believe the sound coming out from my desk. From bass heavier songs, to Opera with it's highs and fidelity, to movies with surround sound (the dedicated sound card handles this like CRAZY with it's X-Fi) and of course, video games and well... These (and the Z323 update) are hands down THE BEST 2.1 speakers you'll ever own!
My dad still has these and they work amazing, I'm jealous lol. I'm trying to get speakers for my pc.
Still using the lower-end x210s to this day. I interchange them with the newer z333s and some equally old creative ones (can't remember the model). These are definitely my favourite. The z333s mostly stay connected to the tv because they have good mid and high end, but the bass is more on the punchy side, so less enjoyable for music. The creatives have the most powerful bass (honestly the sub can become uncomfortable to listen to), and good highs, but weak mids. The x210s are great, good highs, strong mids, and while in terms of volume they have the weakest subwoofer, it's the best sounding one: the bass can be punchy when needed, but is mostly silky and rumbly, the type of bass you feel going through your body instead of hitting it. Even after all these years they are amazing. Would definitely like to try out the x230s to see how much better they are.
16 years, still working, only mini jack needed to be replaced
Had mine since 2006.....still thumping
Yeah I still own these, I've had them for around 16 years and I think the cable that goes from the sub to the speakers is finally starting to fail causing some issues with bass output unless I wiggle the cable. Not really sure what I'll replace them with, even 16 years ago they were £30 (currently 36USD) brand new in the UK, so I figure to get anything close to the quality of these speakers I'll need to spend a lot more money!
Very true, nothing like the old days getting quality products for less amount of money. Replaced mine with a $400 setup hopefully they can last just as long or longer
@@TechReviewsTV Actually, I'm pretty disappointed by the build quality of these speakers, although the sound is really good. 12 years ago a bought 2 sets, one set died completely after about a year, the other set was not used very much but still the right speaker died a few months back... Now I will try to put together the parts from both and make a working set
I ended up buying another sub from eBay this week as I've had the same issue (along with a port tube which got loose), with mine approaching 17 years old. Still sound great , and if I replace them it would cost me a lot more than the £25 I paid to replace the sub.
Logitech startet selling those in 2004. So some models out there are 20 years old. Just incredible right?
It released for 50 Euros but just a year later you could get them for under 40..
I also have the set.
I have taken the stand of and placed them horizontally under the screen, between monitor and table.
I still have mines and it works like a charm only thing I had to change was the 3.5 input cause had some problems on it 🔉🔊
LOL I have two sets of these and found this video trying to find a 3rd set to plug into a spare PC.
I've had to re-solder the serial cable into the sub on one set due to me not caring for it.
My friend gave me these just to test and he also gave me a Trust GXT 38 Tytan Speakers too, he said he didn't used them anymore and didn't have a use for them, and they both didn't sell for him, so he decided to give them to me anyway, and all I can say, they're pretty good 🔥
What a great gift
@@TechReviewsTV ong! I have an audio system already, so both of these speakers systems added to the bunch give me surround sound, so I can hear every beef and stink of my music, it makes my room a whole studio.
@@sjsiemkaподскажите, а как именно вы это подключили всё вместе? Спасибо
Listened to this video on mine, they've seen a few PCs in their life. They look and work like they did on day one, and sound just the same.
There is larger version out there that was made for surround with a bigger subwoofer.. You can use that for 2.1 Stereo too..
I recently retired 15 year old PC but decided to still use my X-230s for my new built 😅
19 years later and I just found out the front of the speakers can be removed for cleaning.
I still used this speaker anw😊
I,ve got my speakers from uncle, beacause he had a new set, so he gave me "broken" speakers, after pluging in to PC they works perfecty, sound is very good. I like them, but the biggest problem is that they don't have standby mode...
Is this set good for apartment use? I have a Logitech Z-2300 right now and it has too much bass. Can i tone down the bass a lot so that i dont hear it when i stick my head down the table?
There's a volume knob on tha back, you can turn it all the way down.
@@Frank_Pods i was gonna buy one untill i realised it was 100 kilometers away. im sticking with my speakers now
There is a bass knob on the volume controller, even all the way down there is a lot of bass, the Z2300 is a monster, you'd be a fool to part with it
@@Frank_Pods that's not the Z2300, the knob is on an external controller
I have X-230. Maybe 18-20 years old afraid to buy new pc speakers because i know they won't sound as good.
My Logitech X-230 speakers suddenly give no more sound. Checked all the cables, inlets and outlets but nothing helps. Lights are on, hear some static noise, but no sound. Anybody any idea how to solve this?
Mosty it's a cable problem. Try to move around the VGA cable at the sub... If it works in one position, fix it with tape.
@@PedroVanDust Jip. Mine does that from time to time too if I move the cable.
I don't need to buy these in 2023...because I still have and daily use the set I bought back in 2007 😇😇
Mine are on their last legs. I bought them in 2006. Today I finally replaced them with a set of Z313 which do not sound nearly as good.
can you pls tell me what the jack is? Idk if i can plug in my headphones
Standard 3.5mm
@@TechReviewsTV thx
Wanting a wireless upgrade on this trusty old bunch!
That would be so cool
My son got me a used Logitech X-230 system many moons ago when he transferred colleges. My performance test was Motorhead's career masterpiece live complete concert 2 cd "Everything Louder Than Everyone Else" 1999 recorded in Hamburg, Germany. Recorded LOUD in the first place (thanks to modern mobile technology) it captures their live concert experience IN YO FACE. Mikkey's double kick bass drums can be heard/felt at the other end of the house, guitar riffs and solos soar and bass...well...it was drummer Phil Taylor that quipped "Lemmy isn't a bass player; he's a f*cking rhythm guitarist". Despite US seeing the band a dozen time over the years my wife hates this cd as it keeps her awake at night...I can play it properly when she's away LOL. God bless Logitech!
Can you use them without the subwoofer? I picked a pair up at goodwill, but learned after that the whole set comes with a subwoofer.
I don’t think you can maybe if you get a adapter For vga power
@@TechReviewsTV ok thanks
No... You can't...
And it would be pointless anyway...
3:45 i just bought 3 sets lol
i wish they would still produce them as new
nothing comes close to them below like 200€ now
I really appreciate you watching the video and commenting 😁 makes my day. Also 3 sets😮 I wish they did make them new and didn’t discontinue them either.
these are my bbs
I'm literally still using them with my PC, no problems at all since day 1
I acquired these speakers used. I find that they have no mid-range. The satellites are too small, or something is wrong with a highpass filter, which I don't know how to diagnose. The speakers accentuate Ssshh sounds around 3 kHz, and the bass does its thing separately. The subwoofer works well in combination with other speakers that go down to ca. 120 Hz. It is heavy and doesn't not rattle on then table. The sound is also bearable if I dial in a cut at the upper mids with an EQ.
What I don't like is that the unit has no jack conectors. The cables are hard soldered. I needed an adapter from RCA connectors. Logitech could have made decent full range speakers or poor man's studio monitors at no more than double the cost if they essentially provided 2 subwoofers with smaller drivers incorporated into them. The satellite is so light that it must be held down to press the power button.
You dont get this built quality any more! Logitech sold tons of units of these so you can get them easily on the used market..
I bought some for 14$ 😁👌
Nah turn the bass down that port is chuffing like crazy
Damn you're so cute😊
