Happening to me right now and it feels like I'm being stabbed in the back for being great at my job. I feel like a sucker.

There is absolutely no excuse for wage compression. Its affirmation that your existing employer has been ripping you off for years.

New hires at my job making as much or more than seasoned people on the job for 10+ years. It takes them about a year to get up to speed and are still only doing about half the job.

Yep, I’m experiencing this right now at my place of employment. 4 years later, and I’m in a senior level role. I get the news today that the level 1-3 specialists are getting a 9% pay increase. I get my evaluation and was told I’m getting a 1.05% raise. Like wow, way to slap me in the face for training your 1-3 level specialists to get where they are today. Mind you, they’ve been in the role since the beginning of February. Make it make sense.

If you move to another company, you will likely get a 10-30% raise.
This year I left my old job, for a 30% raise for a contract position and then another 30% raise to go direct.
In the end it was like a 75% pay increase.
This could never of happened if I didn’t change jobs.
My in-law jumped like 3 jobs in 1.5 years and he jumped up positions and as a result will likely double his salary.

You're not the only one. I'm going through this scenario as well. It's very sad to come to the realization that the only way to give yourself a $3k+ annual salary raise is by leaving your current job and finding a new one. It's wrong on so many levels and it should be illegal.

Thank you for making us more aware of “pay compression.” Now I can be more proactive about defusing it in my situations of employment.

As someone filing two job responsibilities while not even breaking the top 25% of pay for an entry level position for a company I've been with for 3 years in this position some, this hits home really hard.

Accidentally found out that the level 1 marketing associate I helped trained has been getting paid more than me....
TMR I am getting reviewed for a promotion (level 3)... we'll see if they make up for it the compression I'm a victim to after putting in the sweat for 5 years. I will be insulted if they pay me barely more than what hes making as a "minimal effort gen z employee

I'm wondering are they giving more pay to the younger generation or the ones that took the vax. Because they already are replacing humans with robots. I've been seeing UA-cam ads and so far they've been showing robots working in the place of business.

Yes. I’m 27 and was offered $19 as a manager. I had to demand a raise 3x it finally increased to $21.50. An 18 year old was just offered $18 for reception (I started at $15 w/ 11 years of work and education experience) I can’t believe they offered that rate to someone with 1.5 years of part-time grocery store experience. Looking for other jobs now! Experience and loyalty does not matter to large corporations

Consequence of our march to socialism (bad), and unfettered capitalism (equally bad) allowing real estate values to surge, causing regressive wealth redistribution
