I was wonderin.. "hmm, I wonder how you do that?" searched it up on the youtubes then said "yep, of course dude was the first to pop up in the search results here with the knowledge." You always got the great tutorials, my man. Thanks again.
Did you load up and instrument? Make sure you’re dragging the file into the playlist area of the bank you’ve created, and make sure you’ve got an instrument loaded up. Hope this helps!
Have you ever had issues with beatmaker 3 not allowing you to drag midi files in? Sometimes it will allow me and then other times it won’t. Normally when it starts doing that it won’t let me delete notes I made myself, open plugins, or switch to another project. Normally I gotta restart my iPad Air and even then it won’t always allow me drag in midi files I’ve imported
Yo for everyone on BM3...You gotta drag the midi file onto the instrument/plugin instrument. Then, and this is the most crucial step-drag the same midi file onto the track in the actual DAW track. Then it’ll show up. If it’s a multi track- go to the sampler, then go over to mapping and hit “learn” on every octave. Then copy and paste. Hope that helps. ✌️ ❤️ and 🥙.
Thanks for looking out for the community. In this video, I show the process of dragging the file onto the track right next to the bank. Unless I’m wrong, that should be all it takes, so long as there is an instrument loaded onto the bank.
Music Technologist yeah man I dunno what the deal is. I think it’s an older 32GB iPad problem. I also don’t use a midi controller at all so, maybe that’s the problem? I have to do that every time I wanna use any file I’ve converted to midi so maybe I’m converting them wrong??
@@discowolf25 I'm having the same problem as you, but even when I try your steps it won't work. Unless I understand wrong? What I do is: Load a plugin/bank Drag and drop midi file to plugin/bank Go to arrangement and drag and drop midi to the track, import Nothing shows up I go to the sampler Click on the 3 learn buttons Go back to arrangement and drop the midi file again Nothing happens
@@Pharcyde139 Hey, I’m having the same problem. Did you ended up figuring out what you did wrong. I was so upset I uninstalled the program and installed it back, added the MIDI files, but NADA, zip. Kindly let me know if you found something. Thanks.
I bought the unison midi chord pack because you recommended it and after following your instructions the packs show up on beatmaker but all have a small question mark on the left corner and won’t show up when I drag them anywhere? Please help! I love you channel I’ve been binging it all day and subbed this morning
The question marks are normal, mine are like that too. They should show midi data when you drag them onto your tracks though. Make sure you’re dragging them into the playlist on a “bank” channel (not an audio track) with an instrument loaded. Once you’ve dragged the file in double tap it and your midi chords should be there.
I’m not sure if things changed, but I recently purchased the Unison pack and followed the video to the T. For some reason the files won’t load into BeatMaker 3. I can see the files in the imports inside the DAW, but they won’t open. I reached out to Unison support and they told me that it can’t be used on tablets/iPads. If anyone else has recently experienced this feel free to chime in. Also if anyone knows how fix it let me know, thanks!
Definitely! It’s not the same as a drag and drop pre-made pack, but I covered the Suggester app in this video ➡️ ua-cam.com/video/F2qTQaexJmY/v-deo.html, and in my opinion, it’s a much better tool! Not to mention, it’s just fun to use!
I exported a midi file from fl studio mobile, and imported it into bm3 following the steps in this video. But when I drag the midi file onto a track it doesn’t appear. It prompts me to import and transpose the file just like you showed, but the midi track isn’t showing up in the song sequencer or piano roll. Any help appreciated. 💯🙏
Sounds like the midi file you are trying to import is a multi-track midi file. Unfortunately, the only way to import your midi tracks into BM3 is if you have individual midi files.
I have the 12" IPad Pro 2 years old , I downloaded Unison, zipped it, unzipped... I drag 1 midi to the bank track it works, I try to drag a 2nd one onto another track it doesn't load and then it basically stops BM3 from working... I can't add a bank, an instrument... Nothing.. I start a new session and when it opens the new session BM3 doesn't work, I have restart the iPad get it to work ... I also downloaded Legacy and that works fine, no problems... Can you help me please?
Most definitely! There is a piano roll for each instrument that you can click notes into. The only thing it doesn’t have is the FL style step sequencer where there’s rows of boxes where you trigger each box on or off.
Why zip? I don't understand. It's just so easy to import files directly through the Files app. Just copy them into Beatmaker's Imports folder, or drag the files if you're using an external/network drive.
If you have a midi drum file, you would still drag it in the same way, you’d just have to make sure the drum samples you’re using are mapped to the same pitches as the notes in the midi file. You can check to see what those are by dragging in the midi and opening up the piano roll.
Another way to do it is to open the files app and save them in the Import folder within the BeatMaker 3 folder. Open BM3, re-scan the database, and then navigate to the files within the imports folder.
At the time of making this video, BM3 was having issues with files not showing up in the sample search unless they were imported the way I did in this video. Since then, after updates to BM3 it seems like that is no longer the case. I have since been able to just save things in my imports folder, rescan the database, and then my samples are searchable and tagable. I’m thinking about doing a follow up video to this one to help clear up the confusion.
Music Technologist Yes, please do a follow up. Would really appreciate it. I bought the unison midi pack too and followed your instructions, but it’s simply not showing up in the import folder or anywhere in BM3 😩 🙏
