    I want to join the chorus of very happy viewers whom watch your vids - a very good explanatory style to go along with your expertise! Well done! You want comments and suggestions? Here are mine - I have not found ANY BM vid that does a great job of explaining BM patterns and scenes. The relatively brief mentions that I have found still leave me scratching my head. Please put one together for us! Lastly, on your recent fav gear vid I want to say that I bought a CME X keyboard based on your earlier review and have wondered how in the world you make that thing work?! Love the form factor and feel - but for me, nothing about it works well - on any of my software options. I have several Novation keyboards, including the mini, and the CME simply doesn’t come close. Perhaps I have a bad one. I see you still love yours so I’m gonna have to haul it out and give it another whirl. Thanks again for everything - you’re doing a great job!

      Thanks for thoughtful comment! I’m glad you enjoy the content! As far as patterns and scenes in BM3, I would definitely say stay tuned! I’ve got a couple of big BM3 videos in the works and I think they’re really going to clear up confusion for anyone who feels lost in the BM3 workflow, or is unsure how to get things done in the app! As for the XKEY Air, anything finicky that I’ve experienced with the controller has turned out to be due to issues with the DAW I was using it in. BM3 is what I know best, so if you need help connecting it to BM3, let me know! 👍🏽

    I created my own folder structure and move my files into the appropriate sub folders. I think it's a good addition to tagging, but you have to have a good proven folder structure or you will have a mess.i suggest taking time to think it thru. Thanks for an excellent video. Hey Steven! Glad the videos are helping! Yes, you can share kits! First, press and hold on the bank you want to share, hit save bank, and MAKE SURE you select "Copy session samples." Then go into you files app, under "On My iPad" tap "BeatMaker 3," then open bank presets, find the bank you saved and zip the folder. Share that zip with whoever and make sure they unzip it in their bank presets folder, and then they will need to open up BM3, go to settings and tap "rescan database." After that, it should show up in their banks under "user packs." Hope this helps!

    Great video. Pretty sure you can make a New Bank and just save those samples once without it 'making copies for each project your in' . For example.. if I create a New Bank to use in different projects as long as I just load that Bank and don't save it/copy samples within different projects... I don't think the Bank will create multiples.

    • @MusicTechnologist

      This is correct! What I meant was any time you save the samples within a project, it will create duplicates in your samples tab. Saving it once is fine.

      @MusicTechnologist  4 роки тому

      I don’t actually have Koala sampler yet, so I haven’t had the chance to test it yet, but as long as it can be used as Inter-App Audio, you can just load it as an IAA plugin on a bank in BM3 and then just record from Koala into the bank as you’ve suggested. Alternatively, you could just export your individual tracks from Koala and drag them into BM3.

    • @MusicTechnologist
      @MusicTechnologist  4 роки тому

      Yeah, I have my set of grievances with the iOS file system, but I think this one has more to do with BM3. At the time of making this video, BM3 was having issues with files not showing up in the sample search unless they were imported the way I did in this video. Since then, after updates to BM3 it seems like that is no longer the case. I have since been able to just save things in my imports folder, rescan the database, and then my samples are searchable and tagable. I’m thinking about doing a follow up video to this one to help clear up the confusion.

    My struggle with MB3 starts after a the import I to the import folder and putting my project one by one loop into separate pads. MB3 will not play them when I press play. • @MusicTechnologist
      @MusicTechnologist  4 роки тому +1

      @The XenoBotDesigner - Putting loops onto pads will not make them play when you press play. You can either hit record and trigger the loops when you want, and then playback, or you could bypass the pads all together and just drag your samples onto separate audio tracks in the playlist. If you’re not getting playback after that, check the play buttons to the right in the playlist and double tap them to clear it if the circle is going around. Hopefully I understood you correctly. I certainly can be complicated at first when getting used to BM3.

    • @SyntheticSan

      @@MusicTechnologist Thank you so much. Will give it a try. Still a mystery for me why the developer keep it that complicated. Not often but sometimes. I used to have connection issues more often before I turned off midi out in BM3. I think somehow it can only handle midi in or out one at a time. In the midi settings, turn off midi out for the XKEY Air and see if that works. If it doesn’t, I would say leave it on the charger for awhile and then try it again later. I’ve found sometimes connection isn’t great when trying to charge it at the same time. All else fails, close the app and swipe it out of memory and reopen. If that doesn’t work, restart the iPad. lmk if any of that is helpful.

    Bro that’s not the actual right way to import samples in Bm3 it’s another method but the correct way is going to iTunes. Then apps then the bm3 app and import file folders directly into it.

      Idk what you mean by going to iTunes. If you mean plugging your iPad into a computer to import files, that seems far more complicated than even the method in this video. At the time of making this video, BM3 was having issues with files not showing up in the sample search unless they were imported the way I did in this video. Since then, after updates to BM3 it seems like that is no longer the case. I have since been able to just save things in my imports folder using the files app, rescan the database, and then my samples are searchable and tagable. I’m thinking about doing a follow up video to this one to help clear up the confusion.
