I've been trying to decide between the s650 mustang platform, c8 corvette and now I've been looking at M3 and M4. Been going through your videos on M3 ownership because I've been looking at sport sedan options to be more practical. People really appreciate content like this when they are looking into ownership of cars. Very minimalist and effective solution to a problem OEM should fix. Thanks for the tips and tricks.
I noticed when you pushed up on the guard it flexed. I have the mishimoto guard and that thing is rock solid. Absolutely no flex at all, almost like its a skid plate.
Even my previous and taller 23’ X4M engine was destroyed when my sister decided to drive down a ditch and over metal wire. The oil cooler was punctured and the engine was starved of oil. $45,000 estimated in repairs from the BMW collision shop. I only had the vehicle 2 weeks when that happened.
Thats an amazing product and honestly I wish they could add a piece of mesh as well just to prevent any special screw that decides to fit in and be a bum that day lol. But this is definitely on my list!
Well, this is interesting! Thanks for sharing. I’m awaiting delivery next month of an Individual 2025 M440i xDrive coupé with the $2500 Cooling and High Performance Tire Package option that includes the under bumper oil cooler. I imagine although it’s a G22, the oil cooler shape & mount are the same as on a G82. I’ll touch base with the part manufacturer to confirm. Thx again for the alert!!!
One thing that would take this design to the next level is if the holes in the guard had an angled channel. Air could still flow but it’d be even harder to touch what you’re trying to protect.
CSF oil cooler is $500 or cheaper depending where you get it… I think it’s a better deal considering it comes with a guard as well as better cooling. That guard posted alone is $350
Any noticeable difference in oil temps with this installed? Seems like the cooler would get slightly less air flow but probably not enough to cause issues.
1) lighting in the fins of a diffuser could be sick. 2) the lighting displayed on the splitter would be sick on a rear wing as well like the maxton design wing. ua-cam.com/video/Bo2l6G4dJ_M/v-deo.html
The warranty part is not necessarily true. We literally just did an engine on a G82, all warranty for this issue 3 weeks ago. But it's still worth protecting none the less.
Multiple cases have been reportedly on the forums in which BMW did not cover engine replacement. It's far more likely that comprehensive insurance will be needed to cover the engine damage.
I don't understand why you keep highlighting that thread on bimmerpost of 35k in damages. I know that thread very well. His damages that totaled up to 28k-35k were from the below. What you should of talked about was how he was lucky enough to stop right away and not damage his motor after a busted his oil cooler. Front Bumper Front L and R Combination Lamps Engine Oil Cooler Trans Oil Cooler Steering Gear Assembly Front and Rear Catalytic Converter Exhaust (MPE = $5k) Rear Diff
Thanks for chiming in. I keep highlighting it because of the severity of it. Something so simple as a guard could prevent all the high cost of an engine. Anotherpull gave an example of his buddies G82 M4 in the video. He mentions he was lucky enough to stop in time.
And mr Sharky if the engine would have been damage his bill would have easily doubled. lol. I work at the dealer. Warranty will not cover that at all and a long block with labor replacement easy 25k +.
@@terrencepope137 I understand that. That’s not the point I was making. I am for the product but the case that was pointed out was not for a new motor it was from non related components due to running over something.

I appreciate it . Thank you for checking out the videos I definitely take my time on making sure the content is solid for the community
Have you looked at either Blackwing?
I have this on my G80 and it’s a sleek design high quality material. Highly recommend!

was it a bolt on installation ? did you had to cut into anything or modify to get it to fit?
@@davissonnguyen Complete bolt on. no cutting. Its also bigger so protect more areas. Really rock solid item.
Mishimoto is the way
A sacrificial piece should flex a bit. You don't want it to be solid because now you're risking the mounting points being damaged too.

Had to replace this myself. Great video
The Mishimoto is the best piece for this. Simple install, built like a tank.
Exactly lol might as well get upgraded cooling with protection.
It isn't.

@@StocktonBomb to be honest there's so many ventilated holes where are flow can flow in that I haven't seen any changes at all
Why not just upgrade oil cooler? The upgraded ones come with a protector also
Do a reaction video to the 2025 LCI
I actually have one going live at noon 👀
This is some nice music at 1:45

What was the write up for it. I've been hearing from others who have gone through this and on the forums.

Mishimoto is a better quality product, hands down!!
