    This video was made in Denmark, whch has a law mandating Daylight Running Lights all year round. Helps safety during times of low ambient light and cases where there's backlighting from low sunlight, or even midnight sun.
    Basically, it makes the car/truck easier to spot. :)

    Wish we had those in America... When I lived in Germany we had them :/

    Not only in the UK, but all over Europe they do. It's mostly because of length restrictions.

    In Eweden the max truck length is 25.5 meters, it makes no sense sacryfaing cargospace for a long hood.

    not just in the uk its for the whole of europe and they do so beacaus of the smaller roads in europe.

    This is not about "North America hasn't understood" something. We understand it just fine. In our cities is where we use COE and day cab short nose tractors. However in much of US & Canada there really isn't a need for them. Plus our roads are wider than European roads. But that is simply a legacy issue for Europe and not a big deal. I've driven plenty of both types of trucks and found them both useful in their own right. Heck, the first truck I owned was a COE.

    Actually that is not the reason. The UK uses cab over, because of length limitations for road use. It would be a waste of space using 2 meters purely for the engine when you could use that 2 meters to carry more load on the trailer. That is the reason why cab over engine is used

    Shorter turning radius, and better visibility.

    Forgive me, but I'm not an english native speaker - whats the difference between cab and truck?

  • @TheAwesomeBart
    @TheAwesomeBart 11 років тому

    Just what I wanted to say :p If you want to use that 16/18 meters as efficient as possible, why would you put the engine upfront?
    Engine upfront is safer for the truckdriver though, but that's an other topic.
