Wow! You should see what a big mess I just made. It's nothing like yours! I'm going to keep trying and keep watching. You're very inspiring!! Thank you for your videos.
Lois- simply watching you at work is inspiration enough bUT when I try to emulate on my own account I see that I am learning well from you. Thank you very much - art is underpinning my life now! And you are helping with your clear directions.
hi Louise... your hand is wonderful.. you have master stokes.. you are a seasoned artist.. I find your tutorials excellent.. I tried to paint too....it was okay but no where near your beautiful paintings..I am a novice.. I am trying to improve myself.. hope some day i paint.. it with ease and perfection as you do.. I am greatly inspired by your tutorials.. thanks a million for it.. dr shipra
Lois, I have been watching (and doing) your tutorials for a few months now (I am a covid-newbie with a now serious watercolour addiction) and I just love your style. You make it look so much easier than it is. I am loving learning from you, (Chris Petri and Karen Rice are my favourites too) and will give this one a go tomorrow...playing with making clouds which osn't my strong suit. Thank you!
I love YOU I love your art... I love your teaching style... OK so I just love everything and you are a great inspiration !! Thank you for sharing your talent with us.. Love and Peace from Vancouver Canada...
Wow Lois, I loved this tutorial. The landscape/seascape is a subject I'm always drawn to. It makes my heart sing and I feel I can breath in a wide open space
Beautiful work Lois.I suggest to put the paper on desc without angle when you lift out the clouds. In that situation paint dont rush into lift areas so quickley. Thanks for all your videos.
Amazingly beautiful Lois. You have so mastered those nice moody skies. You are truely a master painter. You inspire me to put more time and care into my skies. I don’t have brown madder. Could I use indigo, Payne’s grey and burnt umber ? I wish I could see seascapes where I live, but will be satisfied with hills and mountains.
Lois, thank you for the amazing effort you put out on these videos. Got in the habit of watching your vids late at night on UA-cam. Started watercolor painting at 69 recently, and though I'm in love with doing it, it's quite frustrating most of the time. But that's for another time. I do have a rookie question. I was trying to "duplicate" your Stormy Seascape here and having the usual issues with water. Go figure. However, my question concerns my brush. I just bought a brush called a Wash/Glaze brush. It's flat, 3/4". I used it for the first time today on your painting that I was trying to duplicate, but as I use it, the bristles, separate and it looks like a fork. Disconcerting when attempting to paint a straight line. Is that normal for this type brush? No other brush that I have does that. I apologize for the mundane question. Thank you.
Beautiful! I've been binge watching your videos and now going to sign up for patreon. 😃 Somewhere you mention that the Cotman sienna is paler and more yellow than other watercolor brand siennas. Of the professional brands such as Daniel Smith, M Graham and Qor, which color might be the closest to what you use? Again, thank you so much for all you share!!
If you use a strong mix of colour and don't brush over the colours, they should stay yellow and blue, they will only blend if watery or if you brush over and then they will mix to greem
I’m afraid not, my UA-cam channel is for more straightforward loose painting tutorials for beginners and intermediate painters, the more abstract and semi abstract style is my personal style of painting
Quel beau ciel dramatique !! Merci pour la démo, c'est toujours un plaisir de vous voir peindre !!🧡

You're welcome, keep trying, maybe adjusting the amount of water and/or paint each time, it's all about practice and experimentation!
Thanks so much. Perfect timing for me as I've been wanting to especially practice skies!

Hi, I’m afraid I don’t know as I’ve never tried them
hi stunning painting what watercolour brand of paints do you use?
Superbe
Wonderful clouds. But so difficult to do!
Thanks, but they aren't too difficult with a bit of practice!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎨
Please wath kind paper you are use thank you so much i love it
Thanks, it’s Millford 100% cotton cold pressed paper
I see you putting your blue quite close to the yellow, but it doesn’t seem to go green . Mine seems too
If you use a strong mix of colour and don't brush over the colours, they should stay yellow and blue, they will only blend if watery or if you brush over and then they will mix to greem
Thankyou
Because yellow ochre isn't true yellow. Add a touch of red and a smidgen of blue to cadmium yellow. Hey-Presto... Yellow ochre.
On dec 15 you posted an abstract beach painting, absolute perfection.i dont suppose theres a vid of it?(instagram)
I’m afraid not, my UA-cam channel is for more straightforward loose painting tutorials for beginners and intermediate painters, the more abstract and semi abstract style is my personal style of painting
Well all I can say is,I love your personal style
See if you can manage without using the word “just”
Beautiful
