I want to see a larger variety of skinks in general in herpetoculture. Of course ETS and Schneider's skinks are future species i would love to work with and breed. But, some others that deserve more recognition and availability are Kenyan zebra skinks, gidgee skinks, pink tongue skinks, peter's banded skinks, sand fish skinks, the list goes on. Love me some skinks! I also appreciate the recognition Dayyan and Mike Tytula are bringing to Stenodactylus... i'm patiently waiting to spot some CB on morph market.

We have two axolotls, we used to have a green keel bellied lizard but he passed away a few months ago. We saw emerald tree monitors a lot more than we saw green keeled lizards which is surprising because they’re not super expensive. People are starting to captive breed them which I think is amazing!

Love this style of video! Nice to mix up the top 5 with 7. And I wish I saw more Colombian Rainbow Boas on channels! I got mine cause they were the "cheaper" and less intense option than Brazilians. And mine is such an amazing snake. Great to handle, an amazing eater, and extremely inquisitive.

If you want a small, "tree monitor looking" lizard. Check out Keel Bellied Lizards. They top out at 12-14 inches tip to tip with about maybe 4-5 inches of that being body. Mine is about 7mos old, 2nd gen CBB and quite often a silly goose. Took about 4-6 weeks to get him to climb onto my outstretched hand. In a Leap Habitat 17Dx22Wx36H, with fogger. All around fun lizard. Fast, though. And does not like the sensation of hands enclosing him. When that (or even the appearance of that) happens, it's a full on sprint to whatever he's pointed at.
His hair-trigger change from calm to sprint is the main thing currently keeping me from getting him out more often. Something I'll continue to have to work on.

I dont think people talk enough about uromastyx. They should be about as possible as beardies are since they have relatively the same care requirements ourside of uros needing very hot temps, but having a full vegetarian lizard that can eat its own substrate for food is never a bad idea

Weird, I see axolotls everywhere, I was at a reptile expo a couple of months ago, and I think most of the booths were either ball pythons or axolotls. A lot of the fish stores around me have 5-6 in stock most of the time, they always have new ones every time I go in there too.

    • @archergonzalez711

You're right, but... They succeeded breeding in captivity. In the wild it's a different story... Here in Mexico, they just had gone... "Disappear" in the wild. I was skeptical at first as you do, because I see them everywhere, but it's true... If we can't take care of them in captivity, they will disappear... Forever.

He also had kidney disease. I miss him a lot they are wonderful species very close to my heart. My first Reptile was a bearded drasgon and between those two I think my uro was very close to being my favorite between him and my beardie.

I've commented this a lot but I think Rankins dragons are very underrated. I think they are perfect as they are a scaled down bearded dragon, ideal if you don't have the room for a beardie or prefer having a pair instead of 1 lizard (rankins are more social and cohab better). Size wise these are an alternative to lizards like leopard gecko's. But being a type of bearded dragon they are as easy to handle and interact with like a regular bearded dragon.

Oh, man. I love my lotls, but when my male passed i didnt want to get another...keeping two tanks cold enough was kind of a challenge, and since they had that surge of popularity and then it died down the price when you can find them is through the roof. I miss that little guy, but between that and the fact the received wisdom on how much space they need has really shifted past few years i'm letting myself shift to frogs, when my females go i will probably still get an axie to replace them, but i definetly feel you

  • @BlackDouglas1000

I like a list of 7 because its 2 more than 5. For an amphibian that seems to have left the pet trade so you don't see them...newts. When I was a kid my dad kept a fish tank and he always had these newts in it. I have learned that these are the 3rd stage of life for these creatures so that may be one of many reasons they don't show up any more.

I liked the clips of the referenced comedian interspersed. I think it would be neat to have more comedy references like that. Or more animal jokes generally? I’m not sure how the latter would work without changing the tone/feel of your content. Maybe some funny 90s animal reference clips, like Steve Irwin favorite common quotes or the Kratt brothers (Kratts Creatures more than the latter shows).

Seen to many get tree monitors thinking they can hold them and keep them in a exo terra only to hear them to complain they died or are sick because they dont have proper room or money to provide proper care.
