There is so much turmoil with both Sauber and Alpine, there are several options. With Audi dumping some ownership to ME investors, and the fact they are slowing down their involvement, it leaves one opening for Andretti to take Audi’s place. And at Alpine, with Renault pulling out, and with so many American celebrity investors, there is another option there for a full takeover of the team by Andretti/Cadillac. It’s way easier to buy out versus build a team. And with Andretti already having built infrastructure, it would make either the Sauber or Alpine move attractive, as the seller can walk away clean, and divest themselves of facilities immediately. A big plus for Renault already, as they have other uses for the engine facilities and team, which is why they bailed. If Audi is having big money issues with VW, again, bailing out now and having Andretti take over - with that same ME investment - would be easier. I would bet on an Alpine sale as Andretti’s best option… it takes the whole money delusion issue off the table for now, and gets them in place for moving forward for the future…even if they use Mercedes engines for 2-4 years. 😁👍
True, and Mike can be difficult (I’ve worked with the family in the past), but who would have thought Ryan Reynolds would invest in Alpine; that Renault would bow out of building engines; or Audi being in financial trouble…anything is possible!😁👍
they should have 12 teams
The tracks are to short to have more….
I hope that we get smaller cars and have 24 cars in the grid
Why not go back to the max 26 slots like in the old days so 26 drivers, 13 teams.
nah 11 would be enough. 22 cars, with top 12 receiving points.

The problem is nobody will sell to them. Andretti has spoken many times that they tried to buy teams multiple times

The decision was made when the DOJ told the teams to lawyer up before arriving in Austin. It's just a matter of working out the details.
Andretti's not allowed in F1.
Why do does F1 not realise that is why I left?
So the only thing that changed is that the only willing engine supplier quits , that surely makes a 2026 entry more unlikely.
FIA & F1 better start giving clearer answers
