I remember watching _Jacob Two Two_ every morning in Cartoon Network before going to school (back in the day, Cartoon Network Latinoamerica had a block of non-U.S. cartoons between 5 A.M. and 8 A.M.). Its a good show, and a cool piece of Jewish representation in children's media, I'm not Jewish but's still cool.

I think there's other shows with Jewish repsentation, such as Libby in Molly Mcgee
but I've always hated Jacob Two-Two. The school atmosphere is very mean-spirited, the principal and teachers are such horrible people they have committed so many crimes towards children such as Forced labor, slavery, etc and even got away with it, the students themselves have gotten meanier as a result of their abuse, A lot of overused gross-out moments too, such as constant vomiting. That school is just a miserable place to be that it makes some Nickelodeon shows more tamer.

I’m a Canadian animator, I have to point out that Canadian animation is not at all dead, in fact it’s thriving and a huge amount of animation is made in Canada. The distinction is that most of these shows now are made for streaming (and not always for kids) rather than TV by American companies, rather than Canadian. For example, Hilda, inside job, and final space are three cartoons that I really liked and were/are made by Canadian animation studios. (The latter two were unfortunately cancelled) during Covid, so many animators were hired in Canada and they needed more. There was so much being made, although it has slowed down now; more projects are always being picked up. Basically I want to clarify that not as many original Canadian productions happen but the actual animating is done in Canada for a lot of recent shows.

Its kinda nice to see someone talk about Canadian cartoons other then Total Drama and the giant category of bad shows we have. I grew up on most of these shows and I remember watching Teletoon almost every day, I have vivid memories of playing games on the teletoon website and trying so hard to watch Teletoon at Night because I was curious. I dont really remember anything about these shows anymore though.
I do remember trying to watch Detentionaire but I never knew when it was on and stopped watching cable before it finished so I never got the full story. I also remember watching a lot of Bakugan Battle Brawlers which according to Google was a Japanese-Canadian show, the more you know

I can take a guess why Storm Hawks wasn't well loved by YTV, and that would be Spongebob, since Nickelodeon pushed that so hard.
Heck, in my city and I am an adult who loves cartoons, while Storm Hawks aired. Alot of the best cartoons were moved to Teletoon an affiliate of YTV and was made an extra channel so not only did we loose a decent channel we lost most of the best shows, and didn't have the cash at the time for expanded cable.

My siblings and I didn't have Disney channel or Nickelodeon so growing up, we always watched YTV, Knowledge Network, PBS Kids, and Kids CBC and sometimes Teletoon or CN if we were able to subscribe to those. There're so many.. it's kinda hard to remember all of them but whenever I see those intro compilations.. it's like I'm instantly sent back to the mid 00s. What's fun is also recognizing VAs in other media 😹 I know a lot voiced some Barbie movie characters (which we watched too) and some anime.. thanks for making this vid! Super nostalgic 😸💖
