You talking about these shows 'not' airing is wild to me, because they were right before school for us in Québec. It would make it hard for us to miss an episode.
I'm Canadian and the chibi moments in Martin mystery never bothers me. They often happens when Martin pranks Diana. I nevr find them annoying or too distracting. It adds a bit of comedy to the show 🙂 I like Team galaxy. The heroes visit a different planet, the aliens have various designs, the gasgets and weapons are fun, the robot dog is adorable. It's a great show, i'm happy you like it too!
great video and its nice to see someone talk about The Hollow, i feel like it's mostly ignored/forgotten. Also I grew up with most of these shows despite being in australia lol Just goes to show how far-reaching these shows are despite being from Canada, somewhere seen as smaller in impact for cartoons than somewhere like America
it's actually funny because the kids' slot of the Canadian channel TVO would sometimes air shows from both the UK (i.e. The Big Bang - an actual science show - not the sitcom, Fingertips, and Art Attack) and Australia (Tracey McBean, The Way Things Work)
As a Canadian watching this, I was put on one helluva nostalgia trip. I watched Spliced, League of Super Evil, Jimmy Two Shoes and Atomic Betty as a child (Back when I was a cishet girl).
the fact that you mentioned The Hollow makes me so happy!! too happy actually if im being honest. its just makes me so sad that this great show with interesting plot and stylish visuals didn't get as much recognition as other popular original series. GO WATCH THE HOLLOW NOW!!
20:57 - THANK YOU!!! God DAMN I finally found this show thanks to you! I actually saw the purple guy in the thumbnail and immediately recognized him. I was at work in a classroom once and I saw an episode of this back in 2018, I was intrigued and really wanted to watch it. Then I proceeded to forget about it for a few months and was unable to find it because I didn't know it was in Netflix, and it was IMPOSSIBLE to find via google based on my recollections of the first episode ("show with kids trapped in a room, weird magic guy")!
Jimmy two shoes, Storm hawks- I think I was obsessed with them thank you for bringing these back to my attention, also showing me new ones - Team Galaxy , Martian mystery Atomic Betty💛
Team Galaxy is a show I forgot the name of but remember loving it as a child. Thank you for putting the show into this video, brought back a lot of memories. It was one of my favourites, just under Storm Hawks.
Reboot is amazing. I know the cgi was rough, but they took advantage of the fact they were literally telling a story taking place in a computer to make it work.
Nobody ever talks about the fact that Reboot was literally made in a pre-Toy Story world. When you take that into consideration, Reboot is nothing short of a technical marvel, for its time
Yeah, even now I look at the show and I don't perceive it as being low-quality CGI because it's so distinctive and itself. It never depicts the users and the games are from the perspective of the programs, so I just think "that's what computer programs look like."
Omg I've been trying to remember Team Galaxy for YEARS! I remember watching it pretty regularly as a kid and for the longest time, couldn't remember the name. I live more in central Canada, so maybe the time difference gave it had a better timeslot? Idk, but thank you so much for making this video! You brought back a lot nostalgia for me! 😊
There are four Canadian Cartoons: Yvon of The Yukon, Mega Man Fully Charged, Transformers Beast Wars, and the most obscure cartoon that deserves better, Rollbots. Plus some honorable mentions: Hamtaro & and Yakity Yak.

19:26 I thought Admiral DeGill was the leader? Anyway, great video. It’s nice seeing all these shows again and I forgot how good some of the theme songs are. Unfortunately I never got to watch much of Team Galaxy or Storm Hawks, in fact; I’m pretty sure I only ever saw a single episode each.

Oh my God I grew up watching Spliced on tv in Ireland and it slowly came on later and later until i could only watch it early in the morning or at night. I recorded all the episodes I could in advance so it's great to see finally someone talking about it!
Having grown up in the BC Lower Mainland, Being Ian hit really close to home, literally. Despite it being a cartoon, it was actually hilarious to see Vancouver just as Vancouver, despite decades upon decades of American film using Vancouver to portray just about every city in the continental US.
I was scrolling on Netflix once and saw it, decided that there was nothing else better to watch and gave it a try. It was amazing! Although the ending (spoiler alert) was kinda bittersweet, with the real bodies returning to normal. But their copies minds still remained. Kinda reminded me of the game SOMA
5:51 I distinctively remember the horror movie "Splice" coming out at the time the cartoon "Spliced" was running, and getting the former when looking up the latter. I also remember the platypus character (I forget her name) being the 'normal' one of the group because she's a fusion of a duck and beaver that just equated to a real life animal.
Out of all the shows i remembered, Being Ian was a name i couldn't remember but vaugely remember watching and was the reason i clicked on this video. Thanks for putting my 15+ year search to rest.
I grew up watching most of these, since Brazil's cartoon channels (CN, NIck, DIsney, etc) loved to get these syndicated shows. There's a special place in my heart for Jacob Two-Two and anything made by Nerd Corps. Great video!
Man this was such a trip down memory lane. Growing up I didn't even know how many of these were Canadian, I always just assumed like every other piece of media our cartoons were coming from America. Great vid 🔥
I find ytv over played most of these shows, I don’t know if it’s because I skipped school a lot but I remember all of these like it was yesterday 😊 thanks for the blast from the past !
I know we don’t have a lot of Canadian cartoons in recent times (but) the province of Quebec did get few good cartoons in a few years. 2023 is a struggle year for Canadian media but we keep moving forward to bring great stuff. Here is my liste: Cracké Family Scramble Red Ketchup L’Agent Jean/Super Agent Jon Le Bon Mini-Jean et Mini-Bulle/Mini-Jon and Mini-Maple Le Facteur de l’espace/The Postman of space (not sure is the official English title) The Dragouilles If there anything a miss let me know. Great video btw, happy new year.
Dragon Booster was actually amazing and I am forever upset the series ended on the title screen for Academy and then that show never happened because "they didn't sell enough toys".
@@tomykong2915 It's rough around the edges, fitting as its their first show. But I find it to be charming and I think it improves in a satisfying way as the series goes on.
Oh my gosh! I loved Team Galaxy! It would always come on at weird times. I feel like it never had a solid, consistent airing time and cartoon network would play it whenever they felt like it.
Great video, so much nostalgia seeing these clips and some with the YTV and Teletoon watermark in the corner. Wished you mentioned Wayside and Kid vs. Kat too. Canadian cartoons aside I swear all my fav shows as a kid got cancelled early, Storm Hawks, World of Quest, Spectacular Spider-Man and Wolverine and the X-Men 😭💀
This video was like a trip down memory lane. I remember most of the shows mentioned in the vid, even the one mentioned at 11:08(albeit vaguely. The opening, concept and the robot are familiar to me at least)
I so remember Team Galaxy having more than 3 episodes though :c Another great Canadian shows were, The Ripping Friends, 6teen, Quads! (adult cartoon), CyberSix, Yvon of The Yukon, Di-Gata Defenders, Hot Wheels Battle Force 5. I know there's plenty more to mention, but there is so much of Canadian shows I so remember watching everyday/after schools.
I'm so happy you made this video, as a proud Canadian, I HOPE you make another one on shows like Fred's Head (my personal favorite), BraceFace, Class of the Titans, What's with Andy, 6teen, Stoked, and many others. Especially Fred's Head duuuuude it needs to be known, so underrated, anyway, keep up the good work
Remember when Andy drank a ridiculous amount of grape drink and he had to pee really badly and all the bathrooms were out of order and he had "you're an 8" repeating in his head? thats all i remember from Whats with Andy lol
I always remember martin mystery, totally spies, and team galaxy being a trio, but basically anyone talking about them only ever talks about totally spies, and *maybe* martin mystery, just because they had a cross over. They always leave team galaxy in the dust, even though it was very much in the same style/genre the other two were! It should be included more often, it's like they're ignoring the middle child (even tho it's technically the youngest)
Remember all of these. Definitely have a Nostalgic fondness for this era if animation/ Canadian animation & they generally all hold up. Love the representation! 🇨🇦🇨🇦
I can take a guess why Storm Hawks wasn't well loved by YTV, and that would be Spongebob, since Nickelodeon pushed that so hard. Heck, in my city and I am an adult who loves cartoons, while Storm Hawks aired. Alot of the best cartoons were moved to Teletoon an affiliate of YTV and was made an extra channel so not only did we loose a decent channel we lost most of the best shows, and didn't have the cash at the time for expanded cable.
God, this video awoke memories in me that I didn’t know I had. I’ve literally seen every show featured in this video, including the ones that only appeared as b roll clips. Some I’ve only caught glimpses of, but others still come to mind from time to time like Jacob Two Two.
I'm deeply happy you put Atomic Betty on this video, I adore that show. Atomic Betty deserves WAY more attention. I also enjoy, Jacob Two-Two, Being Ian, League of Super-Evil, and The Hollow.
this caused a lot of memories to flood in from all the canadian cartoons i used to watch, and it makes me wanna do something to represent canada better because of how so little of canadian art/animation is put out
I only heard of jacob two two a year a go when I read the book that probably inspried the show during english. "Jacob two-two meets the hooded fang". However I remembered several of these shows, one Im shocked you didnt mentioned was Slugterra, that show is a favourite.
Amazing video, and a really fun nostalgia trip. I've subbed for more! Team Galaxy: OMG I remember loving this show but yeah, it was like never on! -- didnt know it was by the same people as Martin Mystery, makes sense now in hindsight since they're similar art wise. Stormhawks: One of my faves. LOVE the art and the story/characters.
I actually posted a reply that talked about Storm Hawks some time last year on a Twitter post that was discussing forgotten cartoons (most of them being Canadian in origin). It became one of my most popular posts and made a lot of people amazed that it in fact was not a fever dream. It's a shame that the show never got finished properly.
I've watched almost every single cartoon you've gone over in this video 😂 I love it! Now if only more Canadian cartoons like these could be made - or better yet - some of the ones that didn't get the treatment they deserved (like Storm Hawks) being remade or continued or something
Holy shit seeing storm hawks unlocked a dream memory I had as a kid. The intro of them using bikes launching off the ship is what i did in the dream. I remember having so much fun in that dream. All these shows were so fun to watch when I was younger.
YO I FUCKING LOVE BEING IAN I had to stay up so late just to fucking watch it, one of the most memorable moments I remember is when Ian made a fake map for his older brothers
My absolute favorite moment is when Ian's older brother, Korey, goes to the mall. He rides down an escalator, but the power shuts off, and he gets stuck. He starts freaking out and it makes it onto then news. Great gag
This was a blast from the past. I forgot most of these shows but having a visual aid helped. I was like "I watched that growing up. And that. And that." Other then Atomic Betty, I think I've watched all the others.
Artistically speaking... I owe a lot to these cartoons and they're still some of my biggest influences today. My siblings and I didn't have Disney channel or Nickelodeon so growing up, we always watched YTV, Knowledge Network, PBS Kids, and Kids CBC and sometimes Teletoon or CN if we were able to subscribe to those. There're so many.. it's kinda hard to remember all of them but whenever I see those intro compilations.. it's like I'm instantly sent back to the mid 00s. What's fun is also recognizing VAs in other media 😹 I know a lot voiced some Barbie movie characters (which we watched too) and some anime.. thanks for making this vid! Super nostalgic 😸💖

It adds a bit of comedy to the show 🙂
I like Team galaxy. The heroes visit a different planet, the aliens have various designs, the gasgets and weapons are fun, the robot dog is adorable. It's a great show, i'm happy you like it too!
the animation style for Storm Hawks is giving me a lot of proto-Nimona vibes
great video and its nice to see someone talk about The Hollow, i feel like it's mostly ignored/forgotten.
Also I grew up with most of these shows despite being in australia lol
Just goes to show how far-reaching these shows are despite being from Canada, somewhere seen as smaller in impact for cartoons than somewhere like America
it's actually funny because the kids' slot of the Canadian channel TVO would sometimes air shows from both the UK (i.e.
Man, I fucking LOVE Jacob Two-Two and watching some of the later episodes be produced in widescreen made me appreciate the backgrounds much more.
I'll have to rewatch Jacob two two. Can't remember alot of it, I was only 8 yrs old at that time.
Oh man I loved the league of super evil so much! I forgot it existed but thanks for the preteen nostalgia!
I have absolutely no idea how Yvonne of the Yukon was able to are if you watch it now it was insane that I was considered children's TV
Hamtaro is just a dub
Omg you just split my cranium open, YVONEE????❤
Rollbots, man I use to watch that religiously
yvon of the yukon was so whack.... and I loved it!
Martin Mystery, Storm hawks and 6teen were phenomenal cartoons
just finding this video now, hit me right in the nostalgia, i LOVED team galaxy, thank you for unlocking a childhood memory
Jacob had all the opps bro 😭
I REMEMBER TEAM GALAXY IM WITH YOU!!! i remember all these shows (except the hollow but ill check it out), i got so much nostalgia from this video. i completely forgot being ian and jacob two two existed but as soon as the theme songs played i was able to sing along. and i think about league of super evil way more
8:24 Voltar: "Mustache?! That's my skull."
As a American who grow up with a lot cartoons or go into cartoons later in life and didn’t realize they were made or co-produce by Canada I appreciate you are making a video
Thanks for making this list and this excellent video. Love it.
Plus: The HOLLLOW is superb! Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!
Never thought anyone else would remember Fred's Head :') grew up watching that, I'm 22 now and rewatched it recently, it holds up pretty great
19:26 I thought Admiral DeGill was the leader? Anyway, great video. It’s nice seeing all these shows again and I forgot how good some of the theme songs are.
Unfortunately I never got to watch much of Team Galaxy or Storm Hawks, in fact; I’m pretty sure I only ever saw a single episode each.
I'm so glad I came across this video. These shows invoke such nostalgia in me and it's nice to see others reflect on them positively too!
I might check The Hollow anything that was work on by Robert Valley(aka my fav artist) is a must watch.
I gived that show a shot, and it's not that good and interesting as you think.
@@maurycyoseka1057 I think if you make it past the first 4 episodes it's actually pretty okay. Not amazing but not bad either. I don't recommend the second season though cuz that is bad
It’s not that great but any designs Robert Valley does is terrific, from MotorCity, to Love Death and Robots, to Tron Uprising
@@lumisaa i hope that the mentality in your homeland are much different from the cartoons whiches been shown in canada
Oh my God I grew up watching Spliced on tv in Ireland and it slowly came on later and later until i could only watch it early in the morning or at night. I recorded all the episodes I could in advance so it's great to see finally someone talking about it!
I'm surprised nobody mentioned "Mysteries of Alfred Hedgehog."
Having grown up in the BC Lower Mainland, Being Ian hit really close to home, literally. Despite it being a cartoon, it was actually hilarious to see Vancouver just as Vancouver, despite decades upon decades of American film using Vancouver to portray just about every city in the continental US.
The hollow is an amazing show, it’s beautiful, I love the style, love the rep, love the concept
Team Galaxy has truly flown under the radar
Out of all the shows i remembered, Being Ian was a name i couldn't remember but vaugely remember watching and was the reason i clicked on this video. Thanks for putting my 15+ year search to rest.
There were a lot of names here I remembered but completely forgot the name for.
phenomenal video!
This channel is so underrated?? I expected you to have around 2.5k?? You’re work is great!
Great vid 🔥
Spliced was my go-to show back in the day. Loved the character designs and the characters themselves. Should’ve deserved a season 2
I find ytv over played most of these shows, I don’t know if it’s because I skipped school a lot but I remember all of these like it was yesterday 😊 thanks for the blast from the past !
Thank you for reminding me of Team Galaxy, I have no clue if it was a good show, but I completely forgot about it.
Someone had to acknowledge the Canadian animation industry.
I know we don’t have a lot of Canadian cartoons in recent times (but) the province of Quebec did get few good cartoons in a few years. 2023 is a struggle year for Canadian media but we keep moving forward to bring great stuff.
Here is my liste:
Cracké Family Scramble
Red Ketchup
L’Agent Jean/Super Agent Jon Le Bon
Mini-Jean et Mini-Bulle/Mini-Jon and Mini-Maple
Le Facteur de l’espace/The Postman of space (not sure is the official English title)
The Dragouilles
If there anything a miss let me know.
Great video btw, happy new year.
Great list. I also recommend Dragon Booster (from the people who made Storm Hawks) and Grojband.
Dragon Booster was actually amazing and I am forever upset the series ended on the title screen for Academy and then that show never happened because "they didn't sell enough toys".
Doesn't have nearly as much personality in the art style as the other 2 imo
@@tomykong2915 It's rough around the edges, fitting as its their first show. But I find it to be charming and I think it improves in a satisfying way as the series goes on.
HOW DARE YOU REBOOT IS A BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE
Funny that you mentioned that no one remembered Team Galaxy because I clicked on the video because of it!
Got the nostalgia is palpable >< But how dare you show What's With Andy while talking about bad shows!!! XD
I so remember Team Galaxy having more than 3 episodes though :c
Another great Canadian shows were, The Ripping Friends, 6teen, Quads! (adult cartoon), CyberSix, Yvon of The Yukon, Di-Gata Defenders, Hot Wheels Battle Force 5. I know there's plenty more to mention, but there is so much of Canadian shows I so remember watching everyday/after schools.
It's also nice you brought in the mention of YTV.
MAN I LOVE TEAM GALAXY!!! I’m so sad that many people don’t know or remember this show ☹️
Same
Time to summon all my Canadians with the name of ONE SHOW. Bakugan.
You're welcome.
So many memories resurfaced while relearning all these shows that were mentioned.
Dawg I remember all of these, and sometimes I feel insane knowing about them when all my american friends online have absolutely no idea what they are
I can take a guess why Storm Hawks wasn't well loved by YTV, and that would be Spongebob, since Nickelodeon pushed that so hard.
Whatever show was at 25:00 I also loved. My god the nostalgia is crazy rn.
As an American seeing these cartoons as a kid was my favorite part of the day
Gosh, I remember almost all of these shows growing up. It's so nice to go down memory lane, even if the shows are a little cooky at times
The ending of the show is so mind blowing in The hollow! Definitely watch it!!!
Jacob two two SLAPPED! One of my fave shows and that animation was so cool! Never seen anything like it since
A lot of Canadian cartoons presented only in the first 22 seconds of this video include butt jokes or fart jokes.
Terrance and Phillip at it’s finest
Great gag
i remember being too poor for cable so we had satellite still and all we would get was qubo and everyone at school thought i made these shows up
This vid proves my memory was real lol so many shows i used to watch but i remember no one talking about them or knew about it
I like you, this is cool. I really enjoyed some of these shows growing up.
what about 6teen? i really liked that one
6teen is great; my sister is practically obsessed with it
This was a blast from the past. I forgot most of these shows but having a visual aid helped. I was like "I watched that growing up. And that. And that." Other then Atomic Betty, I think I've watched all the others.
this video was a nostalgia trip and I got reminded of so many shows i completely forgot existed.
