I was being a little facetious to illustrate my point. Indeed he has had a few shinning moments with 8 career wins including a major, plus 16 wins on the European tour. But when you think about what his and the public’s expectations were when he had the great duel with Tiger in the PGA Championship in ‘99 his career has been a bit of a disappointment. He was supposed to be a real challenge to Tiger. But Tiger has ten times as many tour wins and nearly triple his European tour wins. Yes Sergio has been able to make a good living with a golf club in his hands but he is generally not well liked because of his constant sniveling about Tiger and his frequent displays of poor sportsmanship as illustrated in this posting.
He also looks a bit like Adam Sandler which is amusing

I was a PGA club pro in my twenties, but in order to become one you need to pass a Performance Aptitude Test which involves playing 2 rounds in one day and beating a particular score. I practiced so hard for it, and took it so seriously, I found myself throwing clubs like this. Then one day I just decided to never let bad shots get me angry again, and my scores dropped overnight. I wound up passing the test on my first try
You just need to take a split second to tell yourself to relax, and that a bad golf shot is totally insignificant in the grand scheme of things. The game is a lot more fun too.

I was once at that point at age 17 and broke my sandwedge in half. From that moment on I thought to myself "dude, you play that game for fun and a little bit of a challenge to yourself. Don't get angry, your life doesn't depend on it, it's just for fun." Never ever played a round with anger again.
I did similar. Was getting really upset with myself & embarrassing everyone around me. I walked off at the 14th & afterwards I decieed not to play for a few weeks. Came back & apologised to everyone that witnessed it that day & promised myself I wouldn't get upset like that again.
Followed him for a few holes at the British Masters in 2017. Genuinely the most miserable man I've ever seen on a golf course (and I'm not particularly cheerful).
I learned this very early on playing golf. The game is no fun once you reach a certain level of skill and can't repeat it every time

The one and only professional golf game I went to was a Skins game in Palm Springs and Sergio Garcia hit the ball into the crowd and nailed me of all people. I was playing golf in Castellón Spain, at his home club. His father was the pro there and I think he bought it. It’s nothing special, anyone can play there but at breakfast in the morning, he came over to our table to say hello. He knew the local guy were playing with. Yeah I have zero need to brag, this is my only brush with a celebrity. So when I tell you he was a really nice guy who then again said hello and asked me about my round later, I promise you that he’s not the villain you’d think he was. We all know folks with anger and composure problems so I say give him a break, he’s clearly working with a trait you’re either born with or not. I give him the benefit of the doubt that all humans are entitled to. Unless he is unkind to widows and orphans, who are we to judge.

I personally love Augusta national but have always thought it was a little unfair. Because the grass is mowed so closely around the greens, You can hit a great shot Have it spin been back a little bit and then all of a sudden you're in the water.And this guy grew up in Spain he probably didn't realize the fried chicken remark was an insult
I commented a year ago, I will say more. He played at a Spanish local course as a junior, national team event, and there was only one guy in the team who could stand his attitude, plus the image he left behind is still remembered today on some of those courses, an overprotective father and a clearly spoiled attitude. I'd love to be able to say otherwise.

@@KevinBostwick I agree. He lost early tournaments that were close and it broke him. Look at how many majors Phil cane in top 4 before winning. At least 15. But he stuck to it. Them Rory who blew a 10 stroke lead in his first major on the final day. That could have ruined his career but instead he won the following 2 majors and has more wins since. Some have that great mind set. Sergio doesnt like you said a mental midget.
is it a penalty to ground your club in the bunker after you've hit your shot? If so he's REALLY racking up the strokes. Some of these shots arent even that bad either.

Augusta is like heaven on earth....I would love to just step foot on that course let alone be able to play the course. Sergio doesn’t realize how lucky and blessed he is to have a bad round and walk off with a 100,000$ check!!!

After losing the Battle at Bighorn, I had the 'pleasure' of driving Sergio, his caddy and his girlfriend back to the Clubhouse from one side of the highway to the other. He was beyond pissed, cussing at everything and everybody and telling me how to drive from the back seat. It was about 90 degrees outside and I should have just kicked him out of the SUV and made him walk. He truly is a very immature jerk!
I wonder if he does these things when he is on a course at home and there is no one else around. I bet not. Whenever anyone acts up on a golf course, no matter how young or old they are, it has to do with the tantrum being meant to convey to the audience, "I am better than that and it is all the fault of the golf course". It is a fact. Nothing is ever their fault. There is no sense of personal responsibility. If your kids do that and you do nothing about it, you are in for a very miserable relationship with a total a-whole for a kid.
