The problem I notice for amateurs (myself included) is that the sand on public courses is like playing out of concrete. I’ve played a few really high end courses and the difference is unbelievable. The quality and upkeep of the bunkers makes a huge difference.
Totally agree. Anytime you see a video or an article on bunker play, it's always on the assumption the bunkers will be pga quality- nice fluffy, fine, deep sand. I'd love to see these guys go to the typical public course and see how they adjust their technique to deal with the kind of sand most of us play out of- hardly any sand, pebbles in it, very coarse, often hard pan an inch or two under it.

Great view into elite player's sand thoughts........pretty cool, but like TW said, amateurs don't practice enough to do what they do, with all the adjustments they can make for the conditions.
it really depends on the conditions and the player. I chose a 10 degree bounce 56 because the public courses I play at normally have really hard green side bunkers that my 14 degree bounce 56 would bounce too much and catch the ball thin. Id rather have more dig and leave it short on the green than thin a bunker shot 10 yards over the green. I also like to open the face a ton which adds bounce naturally.
@@bobbyDD Makes all the difference. Pelz teaches his system, then you just adjust what you need to when you need to. Being a good putter, and a grinder, really helps. Even better, be a great iron player and avoid as many bunkers as possible. Jack's short game wasn't that good early on, since he'd often hit 15 greens a round, and never had to be that good.

The sound of Tigers shots sound so much crisper, but I assume they are both hitting great shots
Jason is arguably the best bunker player on the planet and Tiger knows this! Taking a crisper shot and less sand is more on a knife edge.
this is the best vide i've ever seen before. Tiger and Day are my favorite players. i want to practice the bunker shot too.
Tiger: i got so many lesson from seve ... trying to come out of these stuff ...
Day: yeah ...
Soffwan Nair I couldn’t believe he just brushed that off...It was like he didn’t know who Seve was or something.
Dead true
2 brilliant golf minds. Love this kind of content. So raw.
Tiger Woods is the greatest at a lot of things. Greatest bunker player of all time.
Taylormade please have more of these videos. Love this stuff.
Listening to this you would think it was Jason with the 15 majors!
Thought the same 😀
He’s better from the bunkers. Golfers aren’t like basic ass “sports fans”. You know, the kind of dumbass who would say one running back is better than another because they happened to be on a couple super bowl winners.
The talent gap between these two is nowhere near as big as you assume.
The talent gap between those two and the best golfer you’ve ever met is enormous
Jason has one of the top short games on tour!
I agree. Jason should shut the f.. up and let Tiger do the talking.
sehnaz1 Jason is one of the best bunker players on your, they’re sharing their game and tiger is not arrogant and too proud to not take advice too. Shame you are
this may be my favourite golf video ever
no dislikes nice job
This was absolutely amazing....application of knowledge is power
