I don't care about the background unless it is so fussy and complicated that it distracts me from the person in the video. I find this one very calming and nice. So, for my taste, I wouldn't change a thing.

I think the background adds an element of 70’s Emmanuel vibes that I for one enjoy - it makes videos such as these both informative and vaguely illicit!
Hi Ruth. Personally I'm not fussed about the background and am more interested in the content (i.e. yourself 😊). Though I think the current choice of window, with a little greenery just showing and your stunning peacock chair, is rather aesthetically pleasing indeed! X

The background is fine but if you want to change it, I wonder if more of the window in the shot by changing the angle slightly, Keep the chair and put flowers (fake or real) on the sill. You could use flowers from your garden. Something small. I absolutely love your videos btw!

Hi Ruth, in my opinion I’m not fussed about the background (unless there is something really distracting going on). I love the peacock chair and it looks a really calming space. I would have no issue if this background stayed. Lovely video btw x
Retinol, pah! You look all of about 25 with your gorgeous baby face.... I absolutely love La Roche Posay, way and above those of twice and thrice the price! I wish that CeraVe did a factor 50 because their SPF 25 is lovely.

The dewy glow from the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter really IS amazing. You are right. I couldn't believe the result when you applied it. This could be a crazy question but what about using a bit of that OVER foundation? I love the coverage of my foundation but I would sure love that finish over my cheeks, some forehead area, chin, etc. Do you think that would work?
You need a lovely lush plant next to that chair.
Just needs a plant or a candle or something on the window sill but otherwise nice and calming and doesn’t distract from the important part... you!

I really enjoy your channels..especially with the children and 'Dexter, and Mr Bear. Very well written, honest, and funny. Seasonal flowers or things the kids made would be a nice addition to the background. It isn't necessary though, the focus is on you.
I also don't care a lot, though a plant would be nice to not only have beige and brown tones

Eye cream is a must for me while living in hot and dry SoCal. If I put my face moisturizer with spf near my eyes it would sting them for hours! Been there done that don’t want to do that again. Currently using Chanel eye cream and Lancôme moisturizer before Mac concealer and bare minerals foundation.
I use serum under my eyes and that's all. Years ago I used Power K eye cream from Peter Thomas Roth. Of course to really deal with dark circles that are genetic rather than allergies or sleep deprivation, you must see a specialist. Anyway, it was nearly $100 for a very small container and the cream left me with milia. It frustrates me to no end that this happened. I'm using an acid applied in little amounts and it's helping. I can't afford at the moment to have a dermatologist remove the milia. So lesson learned - some problems can't be fixed with topical, over the counter products and rich creams on thin areas of skin can create a problem.
On videos like yours I find a bunch of stuff in the background distracting, or I just don't notice it. I pay attention to you and the products you're talking about- in my opinion I wouldn't worry about it!

I thought, like you, that the Laroche Posay Anthelios was the best SPF because it's 50 but also light and doesn't make your face look white etc but then I discovered the Dr Jart Every Sun Day Fluid and my mind was blown, it disappears like it never existed and I've been using it during this heat wave and my face has been very well protected. (my friend brought it from Korea but I'm sure we can find them on Amazon or something). Would love to hear your thoughts on it. Loving your videos btw xxx (love to see different backgrounds just bc I'm curious to see more of your house ahahah, but that chair is everything!!)

For those that think all skin is the same and it's fine to use the same product for everything, that's certainly their prerogative. However, I suggest using a foot cream on your face and see what results you get. Skin actually isn't all the same and reacts differently to what you put on it. But hey, do whatever you think best.
I will forever use specific products for specific areas and specific reasons. Just like I wouldn't use my winter night cream as my summer day cream... I wouldn't be happy with the results, and it's not because the products aren't fabulous. I treat all my different skin for all its different needs, and as those needs change. Decades of research, billions of dollars and all sorts of new technology are involved in creating skin care for specific skin care needs. There is actual science behind all that marketing.
As for your background, it's absolutely lovely, fresh and calming! The only time I'm put off is when there is so much mess, it becomes distracting. I would pick up before I have people in my home and it's nice if the content creator "picks up" (aka sets up the camera away from the mess) when they invite hundreds of thousands of people into their home. Of course, if you're doing a cleaning or organizing video, it makes sense to show the messy before. I think you get my drift... I just don't like seeing piles of distracting stuff while trying to concentrate on the message/be entertained.
