Hi there 👋🏻
If we haven't met yet, my name is Alina 😊 I'm a German psycholgist and currently in training to become a psychodynamic psychotherapist. If I'm not working in an in-patient psychiatry or reading books, I create content about psychodynamic theory online. My mission is to help people understand themselves better to lead lives that are more free, meaningful, and connected.

I love that quote so much. "We are not determined by our experiences, but the meaning we give them is self determining" -Alfred Adler
My wife and I went to Barnes and Noble yesterday and I had it in my mind to find a book called The Courage to be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi and Fumitake Koga. Luckily I grabbed the last copy they had. I am obsessed with the premise of the book and was introduced to Adlerian Psychology. I feel this will be the catalyst I need in my life to become a more positive and goal oriented human being.
I just came here to say, I reached to this video because of the same book I just finished.
Adler's theories & practical-minded outlook is incredibly refreshing. His concepts of lifestyle and the 'personal philosophy' is so grounded - shame he's not more widely appreciated!
Absolutely! He’s been widely neglected and only reached more popularity through the book “The Courage to be Disliked”. His approach is so down-to-earth and easy to understand. I wish more people knew about him - hence why I make the videos :)
@@PsychodynamicPsychology Yes, thank you for the insightful videos. Have been reading the aforementioned book, and was looking for content to peruse
fantastic video. Beautiful voice this woman has. Adler was some person!! Great content. Thankyou.
Thank you for your kind words!
Thank you so much for your Simple, Clear, and Powerful explanation! I recently just discovered Adlerian Psychology in the book "Courage to be disliked" and got really interested in the concept. Your video expand the knowledge I've got and the exercise to fill in the blank is really helpful! Subscribed ❤
Hah yes I did the same - the audio book and listening to it again now. I don't know about any other psychologies but this one just seems to work, to set one up for a good life - I wanted to understand why he never achieved the popularity of his contemporaries - was it a weakness in his ideas or his ability to spread them?
I recently read 'the courage to be disliked' which I really enjoyed and chimes with my worldview and purports represent adlerian psychology. Two questions 1. does it? and 2. What are the main shortcomings or criticisms of Adler - why isn't this thinking more widely adopted compared to his contemporaries?
'Adlerianism' has really helped me!! especially the 'precious' concept of how we hold concepts in . . .
Fantastic insights. Well explained 👌👌👍
Thank you for this video! Very well put together, and I feel like I understand Adlerian theory more than I did before watching :o)
That’s wonderful! Exactly the kind of goal I hoped to achieve 😊 Thank you so much.

Thank you! Glad to hear and welcome to the club :)
The effort towards goal fulfillment may not necessarily be a transition from a lower to a higher state.
Question: is the free journal prompt the same journal prompt as the last video?
Yes, indeed, it’s the same!
Congrats.
You are smart and really beautiful.
I do like the way you explain things
Thank you, Sharon!
