no shaq one of the greatest centers of alll time was another big reason they won in the first title 06 losing him was the main reason they struggled until Lebron and bosh came and they started winning again
As great as Shaq was, he wasn't the same when he was in Miami and the struggle to fit in with the Heat's physical regimen actually made him worse. Once Miami decided to trade him, it was all downhill from there. Though it may have meant trading more assets, I think Miami should have gotten Stoudemire instead of Marion from Phoenix.
Sarver cheaped out when he bought the team. In 2006 and 2007, Phoenix essentially got cash for trades that included Brian Grant, James Jones and picks that became Rajon Rondo and Rudy Fernandez. I think Shaq was a poor trade choice since he both he and Amar'e played close to the basket. Marion shot about 35% from three at the time of the trade, so he could space the floor for Shaq. Amar'e was as close as untouchable at the time but who knows what might have happened behind closed doors?

Something of importance not mentioned = This Miami Heat core of Shaq-Wade was supposed to win it all in the 2004-2005 season, but they had a HORRENDOUS game 7 loss at home against the Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals. This was the Heat season to win it all, mainly since Shaq was still an MVP-caliber-player. They won like 60 games and were just dominant. The Heat swept their first round series against the Nets, and then swept their second round series against the Wizards. Not only that, but this was a young roster overall. Next season, 2005-2006, Shaq was no longer an MVP-caliber-player for the rest of his career, nor an All-Star-player for the rest of his career, and because of it, the Heat no longer had that eliteness in them like they did in the 2004-2005 season, and they were also no longer a "young" team since decided to go for more of a veteran roster after the 2004-2005 season. As you mentioned, Heat won 52 games in the 2005-2006 season, and they werent that dominant team anymore and mostly benefitted from the East being weak this season (asides from the Pistons, Cavs, Nets). Heat even struggled in their first round series against the Bulls (who only had a .500 record of 41-41). And in the second round, many were picking the Nets to beat the Heat, and the Heat even lost homecourt in the second round against the Nets after losing game 1 in Miami. But then afterwards, they turned it on and backdoor swept the Nets by winning the next 4 games, beat the Pistons in 6, and made a great comeback against the Mavs to win it all. Again, the 2004-2005 Heat was their season to win it all, with 2005-2006 being their "try to repeat" season. Meaning, they should have broken this roster up after the 2005-2006 season and gone younger and rebuild, and trade all their veteran players, even Shaq, after this 2006 season to a younger contending team. Heat had no chance of repeating nor being great in the 2006-2007 season with the same roster that won them the title, even if they didnt have all the injuries. If they were healthy, they would have been a 4-seed at best, and would have faced off against the Bulls either way in the first round, and would have still lost to the Bulls in the first round (except I doubt that they would have gotten swept). Bulls went 7-1 against the Heat in the 2006-2007 season (4 games in the regular season and 4 games in the postseason, and also they played them tough in the playoffs the season before)
The big reason? Age. Shaq and GP were pushing into their mid 30’s the season after and couldn’t keep up with the more young established teams at the time. Plus you add D Wade’s knee injuries that haunted the rest of his career, and you pretty much have the reasons why they couldn’t repeat.
They won the championship with just a 52-30 record. I truly believe Dallas was the better team. The refs screwed Dallas. The Heat got 49 free throw attempts in Game 5, Wade got 25 of them. The entire Mavs team got just 25. The final score? Heat 101 Mavs 100.
Yup Casuals and heat fanboys cant accept this reality. There's atleast 4 fouls in that game alone where no one even touched wade and he got FTs for them. All you need to do is shave 2-3 fouls and 4 FTs,and Miami loses game 5 Game 6 went down the same way, wade getting FTs to defend their single digit leads every time Dallas went on a run to overtake them.
That was the 2nd time in Bulls history where they swept the defending champs. 91 they swept the defending champs Detroit Pistons and in 2007 they swept the Miami Heat
Gary Peyton was the reason why the Heat won in 05'-06' by telling Shaq to hand over the team to Wade. Which was something Shaq couldn't do in LA with Kobe. Then Wade just took over in the finals. I actually told my friends in high school that the Bulls were going to beat the Heat. They thought I was bugging.
I think the Heat has the same trick now, they know when to push for it. That championship team wasn't the best in the league, no chance. Same with the latest two finals appearances. But they just knew when to go and when to invest. That's actually what made me a Heat fan; growing up watching Wade and knowing that the team will reach it's potential when the moment comes. As a grown man now with less and less time to watch the games, that's what keeps me going after the Wade era, that trust. I hope it stays the same
You're telling me that a team with Shaq, Gary Payton, Jason Williams, Alonzo Mourning, and Udonis Haslem is better than Ilgauskas and Larry Hughes? Who woulda thunk it

For 06 Miami's championship 🏆, I only felt happy with those 90's tough guys, like A.M or GP, one more, the white chocolate.
Antoine Walker is the one more.
Aye bro, your next video should be your favorite jerseys of all time! I’d love to see your take on them
Getting blown out by the young Bulls during opening night of the next season kind of gave us a big clue of what kind of season they would have
The Celtics created their Big Three in summer of 07 not 08. 🤦🏿♂️
It ain’t that deep
@@TheBearicalWizard it is
If I’m not mistaken they made the conference finals the year before they won and was up 2-1 on the pistons but wade got hurt
That team was really old and Wade got injured alot the next couple years. Its surprising they even won it that year. That team wasn't really that talented anyways. Surprised Wade was able to bounce back and win more titles.
no shaq one of the greatest centers of alll time was another big reason they won in the first title 06 losing him was the main reason they struggled until Lebron and bosh came and they started winning again
Not surprising at all he played with the best player in the league for four years
They had a magical championship run that is very difficult to replicate and Shaq decline so much after joining Miami so its not possible to repeat
As great as Shaq was, he wasn't the same when he was in Miami and the struggle to fit in with the Heat's physical regimen actually made him worse. Once Miami decided to trade him, it was all downhill from there. Though it may have meant trading more assets, I think Miami should have gotten Stoudemire instead of Marion from Phoenix.
hello no suns wouldn’t trade a 25 year old Amar’e for a old ass shaq lmfaoooooooo
They decided to run it back with the AARP squad. When they should’ve blew it up. Imma Heat fan. I seen it all. We got 3 titles. But I seen a lot of pain. 15 game season to draft a bust lol. League robbed us from D Rose. Takeaway the big 3 Wade was stranded his whole career. Just like Jimmy. Thanks Pat!
Make a video on why the Warriors couldn’t beat the Jazz in 07
Your background music choice for this video reminds me of a Super Nintendo Tennis game, or Super Nintendo FIFA, lol.
2006 Finals were rigged just like the 2016 Finals.
8:38 you mean Kobe had the worst supporting cast of the modern era? 🤦♂️ look at the Lakers roster from 2004 - 2007
Yeah lakers sucked after shaq left but also the heat were not very good either after they won in 06
Fuck is you on about?
Stop smoking crack
Can you do one about why the 2006 Pistons didn't get to the finals. They had the best record in the league, and they had the best record in franchise history, just fresh off of two straight finals appearances
Because the Heat figured out they could just slash their way to the rim with their guards and win the game.
I also remember hearing a lot of guys on the Pistons didn't particularly like Flip Saunders who replaced Larry Brown that season.
They would've won in 2005 too if it weren't for injuries. DWade could've been a 4 time champ 2 finals mvp
Lmao🫵🤡

That dicrepit heat team barely beat San Antonio's little brother with all them extra FTs
Pop aint avery johnson, he would have closed out the heat in 5 games and gone back2back and probably 3peat on top at that point since they clapped 05 and 07
Imagine if Walker was on the Warriors from 15 - now? He’d be in the HoF
Michael Beasley could have been great, but he had his own immaturity and issues off court.
they have to be right at or near the top of all time worst NBA title defenses, ironically another team would be the 2011 Mavericks who beat the Heat
Wade great player played along time just had to many injuries
Injuries and an old rosters.
1:43 lmfao what the hell is with that picture
They really should of made the 05 finals
People talk about 06 being rigged but nobody want to admit that the Pistons always got favorable calls in their home games.
Bulls went 7-1 against the Heat in the 2006-2007 season (4 games in the regular season and 4 games in the postseason, and also they played them tough in the playoffs the season before)
Roster got old besides d wade. But that legendary playoff run was always be remembered.
The big reason? Age. Shaq and GP were pushing into their mid 30’s the season after and couldn’t keep up with the more young established teams at the time. Plus you add D Wade’s knee injuries that haunted the rest of his career, and you pretty much have the reasons why they couldn’t repeat.

I think it’s more interesting on how the spurs got 5 championship, but couldn’t repeat or couldn’t even reach the finals again.
2010 Dwade has every right to be pissed. Dude was producing futuristic stats but had a trash support cast.
Because the referees didn't give Wade the same number of free throws per game the next season
Yup
Casuals and heat fanboys cant accept this reality.
There's atleast 4 fouls in that game alone where no one even touched wade and he got FTs for them. All you need to do is shave 2-3 fouls and 4 FTs,and Miami loses game 5
Game 6 went down the same way, wade getting FTs to defend their single digit leads every time Dallas went on a run to overtake them.
@@ultimateyagerman Yeah I remember. It was so egregious, if I were a Dallas fan I think I would’ve stopped watching the NBA.
Lol it was only because no mavs defender that can stay in front of wade. Name me even one mavs defender that can stay in front of 06 wade.

That was the 2nd time in Bulls history where they swept the defending champs. 91 they swept the defending champs Detroit Pistons and in 2007 they swept the Miami Heat
I remember watching the 06 Finals with my family
Shaq was traded before the 2008 playoffs
The reason the 2006 Miami heat didn't repeat to old of a team and injuries
The Celtics formed their "Big 3" in the summer of '07, not '08 😅
Shaq was on his last leg as far as his prime goes.
Also, this is NOT CLOSELY SIMILAR to the 2011 title, stop the disrespect.
Wades image is that he’s a three time nba champion
wade 3rd best sg ever.
and better than KD.
Lol
So Chris Bosh didn't exist !!!!!
He was a huge part of our success in the big 3 era
Because they should have won 05 an 06 not 06 07
As A heat fan injuries
I remember back in the 09 season Shaq was rumored to waiting a trade to go play the Lakers again.
It wasn't happening because Pau Gasol was the better Center and younger player in 2009 plus the Lakers had the rising young star Center backup Bynum.
Wade was not in his shadow. He had to suppress his game for LeBron because LeBron can only play one way.
40k 10k 10k. Played all 5 positions. Keep making fantasy’s up to keep Kobe and MJ your gods 😂💀
Didn’t really expect them to repeat outside of D wade and UD the whole team was old.
I hope it stays the same
Dude you saying d wade was balling moving fast asf around the court with one meniscus ?
As a Heat fan i was disappointed when the heat got swept by the bulls the following season
Wade was only in his 3rd season when he won that 2006 championship ! Lebron didn’t win his first title until 2012. Lol
The Heat got Wade some help. The Cavs didn't do the same for Bron. It's that simple 🤷♂️
You're telling me that a team with Shaq, Gary Payton, Jason Williams, Alonzo Mourning, and Udonis Haslem is better than Ilgauskas and Larry Hughes?

@@greekifreekifan870Lol incredible sarcasm
Look at LeBrons team and look at Wade's. LeBron basically did a carry job as opposed to Wade, especially in 2007. Stop ✋️, you LeBron haters need to sound more logical.
@@younglove3362 I’m not a Lebron Hater. I just made a simple statement. Wade had the momentum early in his career and Lebron literally had a harder road to a championship than all the other greats like MJ,Kobe,Magic,Bird, etc. before he went to Miami and created the trend of a SUPERTEAM ! People might forget that about Lebron. That’s all I’m saying. I never hated Lebron, I’ve actually been a fan of him his entire career! But only rooted against him when he went to Miami Lol
Miami really missed the opportunity in 2005 they should’ve beaten Detroit and went on to play the Spurs but of course that didn’t happen and maybe the Heat wouldn’t have beaten the Spurs either, but with this happening and the fact the roster gotten older and injury’s that’s why the Heat couldn’t repeat💯🤷🏾♂️
Healthy 07 heat (mainly Wade) would’ve had a good chance to repeat imo. Could’ve gotten the LBJ DWade series we never saw
05 also was unlucky with Wade shoulder injury in the ECF. Lots of what-ifs with the Wade/Shaq heat
I remember one guy in the late 80s who also scored well over 30ppg in the playoffs yet only saw early exits due to lack of support.

Beasley was disposable for upcoming big 3 even if he prove expectations.
Its crazy to think even 2006 Wade was already robbed of athleticism. A healthy Wade would've been an unreal athlete.
Michael Beasley was a really good player who could still be in the league today. His drive and work ethic are why he’s not in the NBA.
Andy "parenial" Hoops
They probably had a two year window after winning the championship but injuries and the overall age of the team didn’t get them anywhere near the mountain top until Lebron joined
Wade made the right decision in terms of getting the surgery in college even if it caused issues later bc the NBA is never a guarantee.
Should’ve drafted Brook Lopez with that number 2 pick
Wade goes down top 3-5 Shooting Guard All-time.. He got 3 rings on top of that..
It's pretty simple aside from D Wade at the time they were too old. A lot of those guys on that roster were on the last leg of their careers.
