    I never got this "green bubble" problem. In fact, outside of the US most people use Whatsapp as the main message service, SMS comes in only when you exhaust your data plan or the network is collapsed (third world problem, I know).
    I believe 95% of people will do great with a mid-range phone, and I put my money on that. So my daily driver is a Galaxy A53. So far, it's been great.

    It's interesting how when iPhone users switch to Android, they don't realize some of the benefits like 1 USBC cable for everything since iPhone is the only device using lightning, moving files to the phone doesn't require the use of itunes (but just like connecting to any external drive), being able to side load apps (many reasons to do this), setting up multiple instances of a messaging app. It's simply a case of they don't know what they don't know, and only see what's not there switching over from an iPhone

    • @bluegizmo1983
      @bluegizmo1983 Рік тому +39

      Agreed. It's because iPhone users have been use to being told what they like and dislike, being told what they can and cannot have, being told they must use it this way because customizations are not allowed, etc. They are all so used to not being able to make choices and decide for themselves how to use and customize their devices.

I switched from the 14PM last week to the S23 Ultra, and the first text to people were why did you get a android? Why do I owe an explanation, why does it matter 😒
    I really believe in American imessage is the reason most people stay with Apple. Five years ago most android were laggy 💩
    In the last couple years Android, high end androids, are just as smooth and stable as ios
    I agree about the pill, it never bothered me until using this S23 Ultra for a week. Now when I pick up the iPhone it's a distraction.
    Watching movies and videos is so much better on the Samsung, it doesn't stretch going full screen like the iPhone. I do have a iPad Pro with the mini led screen, so I mostly watch movies on that.
    I wish the S23 Ultra had a flat screen. I'm torn honestly. I think if you don't have any other Apple products S23 Ultra all the way. I think this Samsung is the better phone, is it a additional 1300 dollars better then the 14PM I just bought 3 months ago. Besides your mention of the fingerprint scanner (because it is user error on your part) everything you mention is true. 2 pre installed messaging apps, the time it takes for the the camera app to open up . These are just some of reasons why people think especially iphone users that android/Samsung is messy. Samsungs own icons need some major refinement. While iOS gallery icon is just a flower but it's beautifully done and iconic. While Samsungs still stuck in TouchWiz. On iOS the opacity, blurs and gradients that they use throughout thier system is just gorgeous. I'm glad you point out those details out because android fanboys don't seem to understand the psychology that goes into the work of designing icons. I must say up to 10x the phone produces decent quality pictures.
    But after using it for, just less than 2 weeks, I am really disappointed because I have been having consistent WiFi issues. (And, having problems with bluetooth and LTE connectivity too, from time to time)
    I went to Samsung service centre (in Singapore) and all they could tell me was, "we are aware about the issues" and I (I guess every Samsung s23 ultra owner) must patiently wait until around June 2023 to get an update from Samsung to fix these issues. And the customer care guy gave me a "very valuable" advice that I should use only WiFi 5 and don't use WiFi 6.
    I have been using WiFi 6 for years now! (Everyone in Singapore does!) All my apple devices work perfectly with it. It's ridiculous that Samsung's flagship phone can't support WiFi 6. It's cute that you think the split-screen and pop-out view are experimental features. In fact, Samsung implemented those features in their OS way before Google or Android did, back during the S5. They pretty much pioneered those features, and now I can't live without them.
    Quick Story: the other day at the doctor's appointment, I used split screen. The top part was my old blood test results. the bottom part was my new blood test results. Instead of focusing on me, the doctor started fiddling in his iPhone 14 pro max, trying to find that feature. 😂😂😂

The S23U is a remarkable improvement in three key areas over the last gen model. Processor, battery and heat management. It's the iPhone 13 pro Max of Samsung. Nothing too obvious but the under the hood improvements are quite noticeable. Although, my biggest gripe with the S22U and Samsung continues. The images are oversharpened which I absolutely, completely detest. It's Samsung's insultingly stubborn approach to aggressively sharpen every image and over-brighten unless you manually slide the exposure down on the camera viewfinder that makes me want to sell it and get rid of it. Thanks for the video. Tried iphone 13 after a decade on android. After 9 months I upgraded early to an S23 plus. I just kept running into things that iphone can't do. The absence of a status bar alone drove me nuts. Face unlock was the only thing on the phone that I really liked but I hated that notch on the iphone. There are Android phones that have face unlock with the additional 3D and IR sensors like iphone but I never owned one of those Androids. On my s3 I just disabled face unlock and used the fingerprint sensor. It works great for me. You just have to have a compatible screen protector, apply just a tad more pressure and make sure you do a good job of adding the fingerprint in the settings. I have a success rate of about 90-95%. If it doesn't read my fingerprint I just press again. Its not that big of a deal for me. You mentioned you love the extra real estate without that big ugly iphone notch. That notch is for the additional sensors that make iphone face unlock work so well. If you want smooth seamless face unlocks like on iPhone then you have to give up some space on your screen.
