I appreciate the people who proudly show their city/town in Georgia. I've lived my life in Georgia, but I've seen few towns outside of metro Atlanta. I was born in Monroe in 1949 a few years after the war, and it doesn't look anything like it did when I was a child visiting family there. So many smaller towns have not survived for many different reasons.
Thank you for your comment. Once I retired I needed something to do. I had been watching travel videos on UA-cam. Some of them are so negative. We never know what circumstances cause things to be as they are. We made the decision to not be negative. Most of the places we visit were once thriving but maybe not so much now. What you said seems to be right. Thank you for watching and for your support.
Greetings Mr. Hubert, Nice video. If you ever do another please include the name of Jessie Crumbley Jr. He was born and raised in Dawson, GA in 1925. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal as a Montford Point Marine by the President of the United States. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 and fought in WWII and the Korean War and retired in 1968. He was laid to rest in 2015 at the Georgia National Cemetery. Thank you and be well. Peace & Plenty.
Barry Crumbley, thank you for this information. I did not know this. When I do an update, I will be sure to include this information. Also thank you for your kind words and blessing.
Thanks for making this. Dawson is a real sleeper, a hidden diamond in the rough, I particularly like the music you start playing at the 20:18 mark, sounds like Golden Corral restaurant buffet lobby music….where did you get that ?
The music I play comes from the music selections that UA-cam furnishes. Thank you so much for the kind comment. If you use the UA-cam music, there is no royalties to pay nor do you have to give a citation.
I have a side viewing camera that I started using after this video was made. I am in the process of making a new video of Dawson that will include some side shots. Thank you so much for watching our video.

Thanks for posting. Looks a broken town, hopefully, it find its way back.
Thanks for the comment. Maybe it will turn around. A lot will have to change before it does.
Great video!! I have many family members there.

Every small town Georgia courthouse is brick for brick an exact copy of that one.

That music is "We Made It".
Sure wish your camera would pan to the sides. I just get glimpses of what I’d like to see.
