      Bruh they are so good, even if compromised, keep it moving. Don't stop. If you find water as a SEAL you have a major advantage from water training. Reset them looking for you. If they become an issue, take them out. Any generator or motor running nearby can double effectiveness of silenced weapons, anything louder than it unlike Call Of Duty games. Its get there, do mission, get out.

    I wasn't a SEAL but was a member of the top-secret WALRUS unit in the Air Force. I jumped into Fallujah with Jeremy Dimwitte from an SR-71 going mach-6 from 106,000 feet in '94. You won't find any records because of course they're all classified and I suffered from PTSD from working with Dimwitte so I break out into fits of laughter whenever someone mentions the mission.

    I was in the Navy during Vietnam and the only thing I remember about the SEALs is that everyone I knew thought they deserved a great deal of respect because # 1 they had the Viet Cong scared half to death & # 2 they had no MIAs or POWs because they refused to leave anybody behind. Who else that was over there can say that.

    • @FrostedSeagull
      @FrostedSeagull Рік тому

      The only troops the Viet Cong were frightened off were the Korean Infantry and the Australian SAS who trained your Green Berets.
      I have read numerous books on the Vietnam War and have never heard off the VC being frightened off US SPECIAL Forces.
      Most MACV-SOG missions were failures because they were hastily planned.
      The Australian SAS had a bounty of $US200 placed on them as early as 1966.
      The Australian SAS were called Grey Ghosts by the VC as they used their own tactics against them. The VC by 1967 were very frightened off them as they could never see or find them. The VC went from hating to really fearing them.
      WHY -
      The SAS would do 7, 10 and 14 day operations. They would sit & not move for days. On the last day of their operation they, for example, would call the USAF and two Phantom 4FB's would appear out of nowhere and accurately drop napalm and conventional bombs on what the VC thought was a safely hidden base, or bases, under the jungle canopy.
      Imagine waking up at 5 AM just to see a 8,000 pound bomb drop on your ass.

    • @slschoon
      @slschoon Рік тому

      @@FrostedSeagull I guess we'll have to agree to disagree because you have apparently read different books than I have. The VC had bounties on many different types of enemy soldiers including Special Forces, war dogs and handlers, Marine Snipers and others. It would be true to say that they never collected a bounty on a Navy SEAL because no one was left behind. The Seals also specialized in calling in air strikes from U.S. jets & also helicopters, the abduction of VC personnel & documents and patrol of the Mekong Delta area. There direct action enemy casualty count is classified but known to be at least 4000 killed or captured and uncountable deaths due to air strikes, etc. while sustaining a Seal casualty count of less than 50. Also from what I've read, the Green Berets began in 1952 and the Australian SAS began in 1957. The SEALs officially began in 1962 although they really began with the Amphibious Scouts and Raiders in 1942 during WW II.

      @@theironmarshmallowg3932 Same here. I worked with a guy about 20 years ago (we were early twenties) and he was active in the Navy and told me one day on a Friday that it was his last day and ended up going thru seal training. He was such a badass that I would have bet money he would make it. We reconnected about 10 years later and he was quiet and super nice (basically the same guy as before) and we spent a lot of time together in the following few months before he moved (got married to a woman who lived in California) and I never really “saw” the difference until one evening some weeks after and his parents’ little farm was having trouble with a wolf killing some of their chickens. That night we had a bonfire drinking beers and dude gets up and doesn’t say anything, goes inside and gets into full gear and climbs up on top of the aluminum roof of the coop (about 100yds away from us). We continue drinking and talking and about 2 hours later he comes over and says “Timmy, I need a hand”. I get up and get closer to him and he’s got a dead wolf next to him. My buddy shot the wolf in the hind quarters and jumped off (I’m assuming this) the roof and cut the wolf’s neck. I was almost in shock and found out the next day from his dad that this wolf had killed my buddy’s favorite rooster (I still remember the name of it-“Big Daddy” lol bc it was so fking huge) and my buddy literally meant to wound this wolf and then slice its throat.
      Synopsis: I wouldn’t ever even wish my worst enemy against my friend lol.

      And to anyone who bothered to read my rambling: You should thank every actual member of the service-no matter the branch-every time you see them. Buy their coffee. Buy their Big Mac. Trade your nice seats to them. Because everything you enjoy in your life, all the way up to you being able to read this on your phone/tablet in comfort and safety, was entirely precipitated by the men and women who have given their lives for you to enjoy that comfort. There are men and women who literally died just so you could enjoy your cup of coffee on a Sunday morning, perhaps reading this. When we talk about “heroes”, I don’t want to hear about Lebron James, Tom Brady, Bill Gates. The real heroes are the ones who sacrifice their lives to make your life better. I wish anyone who didn’t understand how good we have it here would take 5 minutes to walk into hundreds of cities on the other side of the world and then say who has it good.
