-These guys are great !
-You said ?
-I said these guys are great...
-Yeah !
It's mind-blowing the riffs Chuck played and sang at the same time.
Ikr!!
Spiritual Healing...Such a good album.
The whole album is a death metal symphony. I remember back in the 90s being a little skeptical about a death metal band but I still gave it a chance as I was a pretty curious kid. I knew there will be growling, screaming and morbid riffs but these guys were at a whole different level. Everything was so clean and organized and perfect. It suddenly became one of my favorite bands. I love this album mainly because of Murphy's contribution but Chuck definitely surpassed himself, too.
Death were the first death metal band to actually differentiate from thrash to death metal, all others at the time were playing thrash but with death metal vocals!
i cant believe how much live material you have.. this is priceless!
I have way more
More Death is always better...best band in the world! 🔥💀🔥
must have sucked being the bouncer and not able to turn around and watch a true metal master at work.
Yeah you bet it was for that guy. Death in all its glory.
Franz Wolf Heart
haha cool. I went there early to hang with Gene for a bit. those were the days, just memories now.
Chuck with the CORONER shirt...
Epic
And that,my Friend..is exactly true....Horns up!!!!!
Is the best album of Death
:/ it is sick but
?
I would have to say Human but Spiritual Healing is still a killer album.
Leprosy is their best album i.m.o. every song is hard hitting and great
I think all albums are the best but symbolic was very technical!
So Much Glorious Hair and Good Music
this show was at the Afterdark Club in Houston, TX and took place 1 decade early April 7th, 1990. Did you see Death play Cardis 2000?, because I don't think they ever did. The last time they played Houston was the Abyss.
extra guitar solo Chuck (RIP) James
my personal favorite is "human". you just hve to listen to it. i think the human-lineup was the best by far. ...drumgod sean reinert...
wow, i can almost see the band...
The purest Death Metal
I wish i could have had the chance to see him before he died.. this has to be his best song R.I.P chuck schuldiner Keep the fucking metal name going
Death wasn't the first death metal band ever but, they were pioneers in the death metal genre. So is Obituary. In an interview, Chuck actually says that he doesn't think that he should take all the credit. he said that he thinks Venom started it all.
best song on spiritual healing
Spiritual Healing is their best album IMO
next to Human.... Chuck was a fucking monster RIP
too bad he was a sissy pants & talked like a valley girl
@@SeanSitka I beg to differ sir. I kinda liked that about him. It made him human and warm. He looked like a delicate, misunderstood genius.
wait James Murphy used to be in death??? wow
He played lead on the Spiritual Healing record.
That’s common knowledge to any true Death fan !
Damn Chuck and James rip those solos!
Show raiz 👏🏾👏🏾
I know for a fact that members of Cannibal Corpse all worked as Pizza Delivery guys, including Chris Barnes and Alex Webster. Phil Fasciana of Malevolent Creation works or at least worked at a south Florida Wendy's restaurant the last I heard. I have no clue if this was the case with Murphy as he would often jump from one band to the next and would produce other bands like you said. He probably did ok.
Spiritual Healing is the best.
Man I see you have stuff from Pasadena how crazy such a small world wish I was around then to see legends like this
He was awesome, unfortunately I was familiar with his music only a few years before he had passed so I wasnt able to catch him in concert.
excellent song!!!!!
Awesome song !!! Great Chuck !!
Thank you.
I love every death album but I would say that ITP is my favourite, it took me the longest to get into but i prefer it slightly more than the sound of... and human, steve digorgio and gene hoglan are awesome... And Coroner kicks ass!
0:28 Wilhelm Scream
Best Metal Band Ever!
Chuck's in a Coroner shirt \m/ \m/
Devastation!
What's up with those pieces of plywood? Were they removing the wall of Death from the audience? (huh-huh;yeah,that's the best I can do).
Epic footage! Great sound for a 1990 vid. Only small downside is that it's not synchronised. The image is slightly behind. But a great, great voice from Chuck!
Security guy on the left kinda gets it: tries to stay down and wears the right shirt.
Jphthe2, this was 20 years ago, Scout Bar wasn't around then. This show was at the After Dark Club.
Caralho banda foda!!
@byerly6 the dumb in China Town was the Axiom The Abyss and the Vatican were the same venue located at 5913 Washington.
this was '90 at fitz with carcass they played at the vatican in houston again in like '93 or '94 luckily i was at both shows
@Jphthe2 haha scout bar. nah, i'm too young for After Dark Club too, but theres another video floating around here of them upstairs at Fitzgerald's circa 90-92 i think. its interesting to see how little fitz's has changed
a-LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE
R.I.P. Chuck!
@halfdeadjp no, that was the Fitgeralds show. Murphy wasn't in the band anylonger. The played as a 3 piece that night.
i like the drums.. i mean i like the hole thing. but those remind me about the good early death metal.. now everything is about speed... speed sometimes sucks...
лучший
Those are the dorkiest bodyguards I've ever seen. I can never take them seriously. Ever.
it was a piece of the ceiling? on the begining?
it clearly says the date it was filmed on the title.
Devastation didn't "open up" they were the main support band for the entire US tour.
While I agree with you in principal, the pizza delivery/fast food thing was taking it a little to the extreme don't you think? I'm sure they make enough to not have to do that. Murphy made enough money to create his own recording studio in Oakland somewhere. A studio that actually records and produces real bands. He made something at some point in his career. He's a legend for God's sake. Top 5 DM guitarist ever. Replaced Skolnick like he was nothing. And Skolnick was the shit in '90-91
Theres nothing wrong with Human or Individual Thought Patterns.I personally like Spiritual Healing the most.
@DeathmetalAxis
Venom wasnt black metal when they started, they were an underground metal band
Well there isn't a lot of money to be made in death metal. A lot of these guys deliver pizza and work at fast food restaurants when they're not on tour in order to get by. I think Murphy is all over the place jumping from one band to another just to make a living.
Is this the Scout Bar?
At 4:09 I wish Chuck just kicked that guy in the head ...
***** I just imagine if he did , it would be funny , I'm not serious ...
Why?
chuck y su primogénito público no 2:40
James Murphy is the man my opinion he is the best death metal lead guitarist ever
just noticed his shirt says corona
you don't get out much do you? he's wearing the shirt from the SWISS band CORONER
So you say because the guitar solo's were better in obituary that means obituary is a better band dan Death? Don't u know songs don't only exist of solo's? Think about lyrics, bass lines, drum patterns, and especially vocals. No one can beat Death.
stupid safe guys i can't see awesome Murphy solo
I think Human and Spiritual Healing, were the beat albums. as far a consistency. But Picture Symbolic with chuck's voice on human. That would have been my favorite album by far. Symbolic was there most dynamic album as far as changes. In my opinion that's when chuck mastered his instrument.
yeah i know. chuck was influenced by bands like venom.
wtf, theyre just sitting there
Who gives a shit? He's a musician not a "band member." He knew he was a hired gun for both Chucks and the Obituary guys among others. He was destined to become a session guy. That was his only way into the business. He was a loner from Virginia that used to look up to an unsigned Diamond Darrell! How lame is that? Murphy could run circles around Dimebag at any point in his career.James was a much better player. But he respected Dimebag's heart and probably envied the fact that he had his own band
I don't know why, but I never got into Human or ITP, whack as hell if you ask me.
No disrespect Chuck, but you should have just kept a steady line-up.
Please obituary is great and I love them but compared to death they bore me stiff.
Security is a Push shet !! This is not really Death Metal!!!!!!!with security !! we want enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please
