Keep at it Hannah, you are doing great. That "thing" you are trying to learn (hanging the truck over the coping) is called a rock to fakie. Maybe it helps watching some videos on it, there are a lot of people making great trick tips on youtube. Wishing you the best!
Taught my daughter to drop in off a high point drop in, all the boys that were always riding around her trying to show off rapidly migrated to the other end of the park. Ha lol, was like that a baby girl
You should definitely give it a go. My board I bought as a complete so I didn’t have to put it together. For your first board I recommend getting a complete as you don’t need anything too fancy. My board is also an 8.25 but board size is all down to preference. Go to a skate shop and they will be able to give you guidance with what one to buy. I however got mine online so it’s completely up to you :)
