    I don't know what you are talking about... This is a severely under-optioned S450. You can get the same high quality Nappa leather, same upgraded high-end sound system, etc. on the S450 that you can on the S560. And what are you talking about when saying that if you get the S450 - to get "the better seats"...?

  • @AK-rx6hv
    @AK-rx6hv 5 років тому +17

    I love how he thinks that the S560 has better seats. It's the same f'n car, just different engines.
    ALL features/options are the same for both S450 and S560. You just happened to drive an S560 with the luxury seating package, and a S450 without it.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 років тому +1

      FYI the seats are completely different yes it is an option but the structure, power adjustments, foam, leather are all different including the bolstering so yes they are different seats.

    • @aypues
      @aypues 5 років тому +1

      This doesn’t have nappa leather. On S560 nappa is standard. Sounds like this one doesn’t have the active bolsters either.

  • @jimwilkins7209
    @jimwilkins7209 6 років тому +16

    I know this fellow believes that the seats in the 450 are lesser quality than the 560, but there is zero--repeat, zero-- difference between the models.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  6 років тому +2

      sorry but your incorrect, the 450 i tested has the base 16 way seats with thicker harder leather, versus the 560 Premium which has the softer Nappa leather, active multi contour seats, ventilated seats, heated seats plus and executive rear seating package, there is a substantial difference in comparing these two versions of the seats. I have yet to see a 560 with the base seat around here.

    • @jimwilkins7209
      @jimwilkins7209 6 років тому +9

      Auto Fanatic exactly. U have to compare apples to apples. Of course, the nappa is nicer than base. But the base is the same in both models, just as the nappa is the same, and in fact there's a third, higher level--the "designo"-- that's also identical in each model.

    • @Sixty2OneThirty
      @Sixty2OneThirty 8 місяців тому +1

      @@autofanaticcarsthe problem is you’re comparing option packages and making it seem like engine choice is what determines the interior quality. The S450 and S560 are exactly the same once you option them out with the same packages, the only difference is the engine. You can option a base S560 and a fully loaded S450 also vice versa.

    great review as always, never been a big mercedes guy, but i always appreciate their detail when it comes to timeless styling and luxury and i also want to thank you for giving the people pointers and gems as far as leasing or financing a car, most reviewers dont do that, i watch your car reviews at least a couple of times a month, lol, especially the q50 reviews, lol, i always learn something new each time i watch your videos, even your knowledge on early models of the mercedes benz and the history and experience with them, keep up the great work, big supporter of your channel, later.

    I don't understand the silly love for larger tire sizes. The smaller tire sizes are 100 times better than larger low profile tires with respect to performance and durability. Yes, the larger tires might look better but the chances of accidents due to hydroplaning, wet/snowy conditions and uneven surface or pot holes are vastly greater with larger sized tires. Just don't understand how the visual effect of larger tires makes people sacrifice comfort and durability and cost. BTW, the audio system and interior seats are absolutely the same for both models as Burmeister audio and upgraded seats are options for both models. The larger sized tires are for people who don't drive more than 5K per year and don't realize that people who know cars are actually laughing at them.

      Just like spoilers you don't need (cough - Honda Type R) or stupid gearboxes (Dual Clutch), it's all about style and gimmicks and nothing to do with every day use. Like quoting Nürburgring lap times or downforce figures, all that is superfluous when you're shedding out $15,000 for Merc repairs within the first six months of ownership … most of which isn't covered by that worthless warranty that the Merc convinced you to sign up to! ua-cam.com/video/5pI9Pt-98pI/v-deo.html

      their styling is very nice but also very conservative and "safe" as i call it because of their target audience. the SLS, GTS etc are amazing machines for sure but those were designed to somewhat compare to the exotic niche market, mass produced cars need to appeal to the masses unfortunately who may not want a super flashy ride.

  • @erics9754
    @erics9754 Рік тому +1

    18-inch wheels make it ride so much better and it looks great to me. I have the opposite opinion I think huge rims and rubber band tires look stupid on the s class it's not a sports car. Sidewalls make the car ride smoother which is what s class buyers want. They are mature men, not little punks who want to look cool lol. This is a luxury car and I want a smooth car and do not give a rat's ass about sporty handling. It's not a sports car!!! I Buy a sports car if that's your thing. Sports cars are for young men or people with low self-esteem looking for attention. I have loved luxury cars since I was 16 and have had sports cars that were fast but the bumpy ride that came with them became old fast. I like to drive slow and cruise with no stress and I hate the jarring ride that skinny tires give you and do not understand this no-sidewall trend it's just dumb. Why would anyone take a smooth-riding car and say how can we make it ride worse I know put tires on it with no side wall pretty soon will have just rims with black paint on the outside lol. I wish I could put 16-inch rims on my S like my old Lincoln had that thing floated and did it handle well no and I could care less it was a cruiser and I loved it. I agree with you I am old and do not want any of these nanny features that's why I love my 07 it has none of those but still has the ride I like and power and heated massage front and rear seats headlight washers night vision and so on.

    I'd rather take this car a thousand times with those "small" 18-inch wheels than with ridiculously large 22-inch wheels which are more vulnerable to flattening

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  4 роки тому +1

      good point as 22 ruin the ride so badly on these cars

    • @erics9754
      @erics9754 Рік тому

      Yes, the huge tire trend is for the special people we have today lol. I can not understand why they are so popular. To me, they look silly and I wish they would go back to sensible tire sizes like they did in the past or at least give the customers what they want. I can only imagine how nice an S class would ride on 17 or 16-inch tires.

    Hello again. I wanted to ask if adding a spoiler (for about $500.00) would help on the S450?

  • @MusicLuv80
    @MusicLuv80 5 років тому

    So there is S450, S550 and S560? They are same car but S560 is the best? But isn't S Class AMG 63 the best one?

    • @juststuff5216
      @juststuff5216 4 роки тому +1

      NO, the AMG 65 is. It's the V12 version. The 63 is the V8 versions, and dare I say the most common S-AMG ... but who wants to be common?

      I agree they always had crap rims, however not many guys do rim upgrades on these cars like we did in the 80s and 90s you can opt for nicer 20-21 inch rims that will crack at the first pothole and they rape you for the upgrade to.

      This isn't a cheap car, I mean, you're not buying a C-Class or a motorized skateboard, it's supposed to be the flagship model … and yet Merc still penny pinch on the Entry & Diesel models especially. Like those people who spent $100,00 on a diesel car don't want a bit a luxury or aren't concerned about the styling.
      For me *it's the diesel models in most brands that get the short end of the stick* - What's that, you want cruise control? Tell you what, I'll give you and stick and you can jam it between the accelerator pedal and the arm rest on the door card, how's about that?
