Wow it looks different then when we were there about 5 yrs ago. My husband drove the stage In for the sugar festival. I think the only thing open down that strip was the walmart. Looks like they have some growth going on..great to see. The palms were absolutely beautiful there.
I was born in Clewiston. The sugar cane industry used to big. People sent children to college working for US Sugar like it was General Motors or something. The same thing happened to US Sugar.
its a SMALL SOUTHERN TOWN.. NOT FOR EVERYONE. this isnt a place i would recommend. i like it but, i am from down here.. just know, this isnt a place most people would move to. its HOOD, and Country and mostly very closed people to outsiders. not saying its bad, but be careful you dont have end up somewhere thats not for all.
I used to live there when I was a child it’s changed so much 😭 so many memories

I lived in Clewiston from 1959 to 1968. My parents built our house on 135 West Crescent Dr.

Across from the marathon station at 1:30 there used to be an ice cream shop and on the corner by the marathon there used to be an snow cone stand.
