Thanks for the helpful tips on the install. One point I would note is that some valve stems do not need to replaced with the cushcore ones. Specifically, Peaty’s mk2 have the holes on the sides of the base to allow for inserts. Thought people may want that info if ghostbusters green wasn’t their jam. Beyond black and silver, the Peaty’s x Chris King version matches all Chris king colors.
Action shots were filmed on Palmer Passage in Round Lake park in Camas Washington, Bonneville Shorleline trail near Provo Canyon in Orem Utah, and The whole Guacamole trail in Virgin Utah.
Interesting product, I can see the advantages of using something like this for the bikes it’s designed for. At some point I expect to add a set of Hunt 650b wheels for my gravel bike, may think about circling back to this product. Thanks for posting!
Thanks again for watching, JR! Let us know if we can help you out with some wheels down the road as well ;)
Great video you two!
Thank you, Matt! 🙏
Great video guys!
Thanks, Lynn!
Great video, thank you for posting! I like the trash can idea to help with tubeless setup. Using the tire lever like that is new to me and I'm sure it'll help. This was my first look at Cush Core and it seems like a great idea. I wonder if it causes any additional grief when repairing a puncture that won't seal on the trail? Is this more of a "race day" type of product or something that is also regularly used on the trail?
Thanks for watching, Charlie! As for trail side fixes, it's pretty manageable so long as you have the right tire lever. If it was something catastrophic that required a tube because the tire simply will not hold air and a plug won't do the trick, you can definitely pull it out in favor of a tube and boot. Depending on where you are riding and what the terrain looks like, there is also a good chance that you can simply ride the bike out with little to no air in the tire as the Cush Core will do a great job protecting the wheel. I do think that it makes a lot of sense to always use these as the tire is a lot more supple, which is going to make it more difficult to harm the tire. The tire will conform to the object that would otherwise puncture it. I've since switched my gravel and MTB over to the Cush Core and they are great!
I use them for all my rides. Racing and everyday use. Since installing them I have had no pinch flats. And every puncture has sealed automatically with sealant.
Awesome, thanks for the information. I’ll definitely give them a try.
