been listening to tool since i was 14 in ‘94 , im 44 now & they are still my favourite band. i get so much joy out of you reacting to them for the first time! ❤🌀
Pneuma - In classical Greek philosophy, it is distinguishable from psyche (ψυχή), which originally meant "breath of life", but is regularly translated as "spirit" or most often "soul" --- in this song we are "one breath, one word" (spirit) -- definitions are being used interchangeably and leave it to the listeners interpretation.
Danny uses Synesthesia Mandala drum pads that have 3 zones and pressure sensitivity so the tome can adjust by the location & velocity of the stroke. @ 7:31 this is a roto-tom with a tight thin head tuned for this sound (at least that is what I understand).
I played drums for yrs right handed and my friend that was the drummer in our band I played guitar too so one day I sat behind his kit and was playing better than ever and it was more comfortable for me. My friend was like ok teach me to play this thing with strings 😂😂😂😂
Yeah, he has his high hat to the right of his snare, or kind of in front of and to the right a little. It's different, but it works for him. I don't know how recent that style is or if he's always did it that way, but he's a classically trained jazz drummer iirc, so he's very technically proficient and I'm sure there's a reason for him to have it there that likely helps ergonomically or otherwise.
I just love music. I can play just about anything. My parents noticed when I was 5. I'd show interest in the drums at church and I got an old ratty set and was playing guitar by 7. I toyed with keyboards and other types of instruments. I still love the drums. I don't really play guitar much anymore. I mostly walk the beach or sit at the tiki bar as I call it here on Boracay Island. They have a special table you can sit to watch the sunset and listen to the young lady sing and play her guitar.
Took 13 years to write and learn this song, i assume... I mean just figuring out where to set all the drums so it was even possible to play live must have take a year.

Tool army here! This song is a masterpiece! There's no band like Tool. Also, Danny is not any drummer; he's one of the best in the world.
Rep it. No one like em.

“Is he right handed or left?”

Craftsmanship. 100%. This is what practice and teamwork look like.
Phew, definitely a lot of work! Setup to tear down to making sure it’s all tuned right
You have some of the cleanest sound of any reaction channel I've seen in a long time
Really? Thanks! I wonder about it sometimes lol
Bro is asking if an octopus is left or right handed 😂

Danny is the best drummer in the world, as the cam attests to❤

Theres so much depth and tech to drums that I didn't even realize
The 59 year old percussionist wrote this recording five years ago
Thats a dedication to the craft!

Maybe quicker to hit the drums on that side also
Yeah, this isn't your typical drummer, you're going to hear a lot of stuff you never heard before from this guy
i'll have to keep listening then lol

lol, I wonder if, with drumkits that large, if they have them numbered or they just have it memorized
@@RichInReaction I would think they have at least some sort of layout drawn at first until the techs learn it.
Put on some Tool and then not be bothered, it's listening music.
Its how I've been feeling lol. Get off of a work and Unwind to Tool
