The comparison is not fair to Neil. Danny's taken drumming to a whooole other level. Neil perhaps could've taken the challenge and evolved even more, but fact is Neil didn't play at the same degree of dificulty (4 time signatures one for each limb is beyond ridiculous). Then there is Danny's power and ridiculous stamina. Have anyone ever counted drumhits per song and whole concerts? It'd be intereseting to see how others would stack up to that. Anyway. Not taking ANYthing away from Neil. Amazing drummer.
Exactly what I was thinking. But hey, an actual reaction to the song period, would've been great. I think some of these "reactors" should just say "listeners" . The ones that play the song. Then immediately say farewell. With extremely little to say. And your right. Saying- drum critic - definitely implies. That he was gonna talk about the performance and, I dunno. Analyze and critique the performance, maybe.? Maybe he's just stoned and forgot. Hopefully anyways. Lol
Tight triceps, biceps and the badassiest shoulders. People who work their trades, professions often physically show their work on their bodies. Interesting how that is sometimes.
The band Tool is Danny Carey (drums) Maynard Keenan (vocals) Adam Jones (guitar) and Justin Chancellor (bass). They’ve been around since around 1989. Maynard is also a US Army veteran.
It's always hilarious to watch people bob heads to changing time signatures and their reaction when they realize something's wrong ;). Welcome to tool, so much to learn and experience
Leap Year night 29th February 2020 was my fifth time seeing Tool. We got to experience the 16-minute masterpiece 7empest about a week before Covid hit.
Dude is a freaking octopus wizard! There is so much going on, especially in that 'solo' section.....gives me a seizure trying to figure out the human brain performing like this. LMAO
Paiste cymbals made a drumkit for Danny. The metal shells are made of melted down cymbals. He's a big jazz/fusion fan, so some old school jazz guys(Cobham?) donated a cymbal. So it's like he has a piece of his heroes with him all the time.
Did this man just say Danny is kinda cold!!!. Danny is a master of his craft. He delivered 4 drum beats at once during that musical segment. His octopus nickname is well earned.
I really appreciate your reaction video. Most don’t let more than a couple seconds play out. This is one of the best performances ever and you didn’t destroy it with constant pausing, but gave a proper reaction to the amazing talent. Nice work, sub earned
You are definitely my favorite reaction man. I love to see your face when tool transitions. You also notice the guitar player, the singer, everything. Keep listening to them. You will not be disappointed.
I love watching these reactions to Tool videos…. People try to head-bob to the beat and then realize Danny has left them off beat two measures ago… by the time they catch up, he’s changed time signature, again. 14/8 + 14/8 + 5/8…. And you thought that was a Bird jersey.
One of the things I like about Tool is that there aren’t usually instrument solos. It’s something that annoys me about a lot of harder rock/ metal. I like when all the instruments (including the vocals) are working together for the greater good of the song, and not trying to outshine the rest. No flashy solos, instead a true collaboration. That’s why I feel like Tool is so good. Each member is gifted at their particular instrument, but confident enough in their own abilities to not need to show off. I like my music like I like my economic systems, communist.
This is such an amazing live performance , when I hear the album version of this song , it just seems like it’s lacking something in comparison. If you like videos that also show the drummer’s footwork , you should check out Unleasher the Archers “Awakening”. You won’t be disappointed. 🔥🔥🔥
My man. If you’re gonna do a drum cam reaction, you could at least increase the opacity on the video so we could see it. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen it about a hunnid and forty-leven times, but I still wanna see the octopus work.
love tool & first time I'm hearing this is reaction video only because I neglected this album forever. always get worried shit is not gonna be what I want. this sounds like old tool but the drums 👌👌👌👌
The most Mind Blowing Drummer I know of is Rick Allen from Def Leppard who kept playing with the band after losing an arm. I highly recommend checking out "Pour Some Sugar On Me".
Gotta love the clickbait titles. “Drum Critic”. Lol. Homie couldn’t tell one bit, what was going on, from the start. Lol. Bruh. Come on man….be yourself, brother. I would have watched this without the clickbait title…but seeing as there was no real “critiquing” of a drum master…I’m moving on. Your other reactions are funny though.
Danny is one of the best living drummers on the planet PERIOD. I love watching people react to this for the first time.
I'm addicted to Danny Carey "Pneuma" reaction videos 🤣
Add to that Hallowed Be Thy Name :-)
same. started watching it in the afternoon, now its bedtime and im still watching them😂
Media: What meter was that in?
Danny Carey: Yes.
With Neil Peart's passing, Danny Carey picked up the G.O.A.T. baton and is carrying it in full stride, his polyrhythm skills are insane....👏🤘🏻🇺🇸

Anyway. Not taking ANYthing away from Neil. Amazing drummer.
@@bruun1974 I agree 100%
RIP Professor 🙏
Danny was always better though
The kitty at bottom of screen is bewildered by Danny’s magical talent.
Shouldn’t a drum critic reacting to Tool mention time signature? Polyrhythms? Anything technical at all?
Exactly what I was thinking. But hey, an actual reaction to the song period, would've been great. I think some of these "reactors" should just say "listeners" . The ones that play the song. Click bait
I realized he wasn't a drummer within about 30 seconds of the video
hahaha he said, I forgot he was using his feet... LOL... this kid is no drummer
these kids are not into the music they just want to make some money and see themselves on the internet
Danny is over 60 years old and more than 6’ tall. The man is a beast!
6'5 to be exact
@@SkindrixX you beat me to it on the height

Holy sh!t 😳😳
Talented? He's in the very top echelon of drummers in the world! 👍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

you're obviously a musical guy, this would be a challenge to play for anyone. they are one of the best to ever do it!
This guy is nicknamed Octopuss...... He can hit more notes and in different signatures then others.
Tool Army here ! Danny Cary is the best !
TOOL IS FOREVER
Danny Carey is 6'5" and a complete monster behind the drums. He's pummeling those drums man!
It's always hilarious to watch people bob heads to changing time signatures and their reaction when they realize something's wrong ;). Welcome to tool, so much to learn and experience
Your cat became Pneuma
I've seen Tool last Tuesday on their last show of their world tour 22. I'm still hyped, they played pneuma and almost every song on my playlist ^-^
I seen them up here in denver for the first time back in January and it's by far the best damn show I've ever witnessed. TOOL IS FOREVER
Pushit was my favorite live this tour right next to culling voices

Just watching the beginning I was thinking "Good luck getting your head groove into the timing of a Tool song" :)
That guy on that guitar is the legendary Adam Jones

DANNY CAREY=🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
Someone hand me a sponge so I can pick up the drippings of my melted face.
He's been drumming since 1966!
The end is well worth the wait. Your face at 12:29 said it all. Danny is unreal

Glad someone pointed that out! A different beat on each limb!! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!
I think we're all watching your cats play in the background.
Dudeee, tool is a master piece!! Pure joyyy
Best band
ive been a lifelong Danny Carey fan but those polyrhythms are fucking insane
It's really interesting watching your head movements, subconsciously trying to figure out the time signatures as they change. 👍
I really appreciate your reaction video. Most don’t let more than a couple seconds play out. This is one of the best performances ever and you didn’t destroy it with constant pausing, but gave a proper reaction to the amazing talent.

The ghost of Danny Carey.

@7:24 kinda cold? This is goat level drumming right here.

great reaction bro :)
Danny is one of the greatest
Danny made a deal with the devil. No one knows what danny got, but the devil got drum lessons.
True story.
The Tool stank face never fails
I think the cat is now a Tool fan! 😂
Hes the best drummer in the world. It's so obvious to me that I assume that that's an objective opinion.

Too bad communists didn't allow rock music until after perestroika.

These guys are ELITE in the rock game.

Yer not gonna be blocked w Tool so don't need to use the transparent on this
No comment on his odd timing on the hi-hat? Most drummers notice that first.
Nothing wrong with 60 plus. Lol fire... many singers are up there. Including Till... age only makes you better.

also idk if you take money for requests but as a drummer you'll love the contortionist & tesseract.
love the cymbals? I'm not a drummer but my fav thing is hearing consistent cymbals and bass drum
maynard sounds weak but the band is killing it. not a big maynard fan 🤷 not many are lmao.
crazy this is my first time hearing it but vocally it's boring AF. I'm 35 and been a fan since 18.
