    Eurooptics has these at a crazy $199.99 right now!!! Shipped price for me was around $231. Best price I found by far!

    Man, thank you so much for your insight on this red dot mounting system. I have been thinking about pulling the trigger on this one for my Glock 19X since almost a year now. I just couldn't get any long term experiences/ reviews. Your video encourages me to just buy one if I have the cash. Love the idea of being able to switch from optic to irons in a matter of seconds. You have answered the most important question, I was looking for. DOES IT HOLD ZERO... YES!!! NICE! Subbed and great content. Cheers from Germany!

    Wow, very cool! Had no idea something like this even existed. I just recently got into firearms maybe 8 months ago with my first purchase being a Ruger 16" 1:8 AR556 and just last month got my first handgun after extensive mandatory classes and license payments just to legally OWN a handgun for house protection and range use only here in Maryland. It's a Walther pdp 4.5" full size 9mm and got a holosun 507c for an optic and love it. What's funny is if I wanted to I could go get an AR / Long rifle / shotgun every day of the week for an entire year without once ever having to register it but if I want a handgun of any kind I must not only make sure it's on Marylands legal to own list but then go through a registration period plus 7 day wait for said registration period to pass before getting the pistol and once that process is over I would have to wait 30 days before I could start the process over for another pistol..... ALSO : I can not make/purchase any magazine for any firearm over 10 rounds in Maryland BUT I can travel over state lines into West Virginia or Pennsylvania, purchase however big of a magazine I want for whatever firearm, bring it back over into Maryland and legally own it without having to report it.... Crazy ass state I live in.... Anyways back to the video topic.... I always try to be conscious of spending when it comes to firearms so I try and take maybe not the cheapest route possible but the most optimal spending vs benefit gain and everyone is constantly reminding me that I need to get suppressor height sights to go along with my pistol optic incase the optic fails.... Idk if this is the wrong mindset to have but in my mind I'm thinking I should be able to trust my life on the optic otherwise I shouldn't use the optic at all and also I don't want anything distracting my sight window in my optic.... This product you're showing here might be the way to go if I really want to go down that route. I CAN see my stock sights through my holosun BUT I have to get super super low down on the sight in order to do so.... I can remain semi-accurate at 7 yards through this method but this is on a stationary target.... Can't imagine how hard it would be to hit a moving target lol.... Anyways enough of my rambling! Cool video and something new I didn't know existed. Tysm!

    I really like the idea of red dots on pistols, but I have terrible astigmatism. It's turned me on the direction of prism scopes for some of my rifles. I do appreciate the flexibility of the quick detach system.

    • @ModernMountainMan
      @ModernMountainMan  2 роки тому +1

      Have you ever tried green dots? I think I remember a friend saying that it didn’t affect his astigmatism the way red dots did .

    • @Tex_I_Can
      @Tex_I_Can 2 роки тому +1

      @@ModernMountainMan The only green ice tried is through a prism scope. A green dot may work. I'm partially color blind. My deficit is in the greens. That may be an aid if trying out an actual green dot.

      Have you checked out any of the holosun optics for pistols? I have astigmatism as well and thought I was pretty much screwed when it came to smaller top type optics but tried a buddy's glock 17 with a holosun 507c and it was almost like magic. Was my astigmatism still coming through on the optic? Yes... BUT, with their 3 sight option from circle/circle dot/just dot plus their brightness levels and differences I was able to actually see past my astigmatism easily and effectively. Of course proper practice is always a must but I seriously thought that I would never be able to use such sights due to my lack for a better term, disability.
      P.S. - I went with their red color system but my buddy had their green color system and both for me atleast acted the same for my astigmatism.

      @@TerminalM193 I have not tried them. My LGS carries a ton of different dots, that includes Holosun. Thanks for the info. I will definitely check them out the next time I'm in the shop.

    Are you able to see the iron sights
    rear and front sight
    when the dot is attached like not a co witness but able to pair the irons from below the red dot when it’s attached ? This is a steal if it works without having to quick detach anything.

    • @ModernMountainMan
      @ModernMountainMan  2 роки тому +2

      You can’t quite do that, if you could, the dot would have to be even higher than it is.

    Hey man, great video! I live in Israel and I use this sight on my Glock 17 gen 2. Here if I have a license I can own only one handgun and I think of switching to a Glock MOS. Do you know what footprint does this sight use? Id like to co-witness with suppressor height sights but I don't see anywhere online where people use this sight without the qd mount

    • @ModernMountainMan
      @ModernMountainMan  2 роки тому

      I am not totally sure what the footprint is. I am pretty certain it’s a common one. Maybe reach out to Meprolight

    Can you buy the iron sights separately if you wanted to run the RDS on multiple pistols?

  • @jrcook927
    @jrcook927 2 роки тому +2

    Can you get it without the optic? I've got several BEs and Jerichos, and switching optics would make more sense than spending $400 on each one.

    • @ModernMountainMan

      Yeah you can get the QD system separately. I forget what footprint it is

    How is the battery life on the optic ? And does it "shake awake" cant seem to find that info . Thinking about this system for my xd . Thanks .

    • @ModernMountainMan
      @ModernMountainMan  2 роки тому

      Battery life is great. It doesn’t shake awake. If that is important to you, you can actually use their QD mount system with another mro

    Any thoughts after having this for a while? Does the rmr hold zero after takin it on and off? The the iron sights shifted at all?
    Thanks!!!!!!!!

    • @ModernMountainMan
      @ModernMountainMan  Рік тому +1

      The Iron sites were a super tight fit, so they have not shifted at all.
      As far as the RMR goes, I take it on and off all the time because of different holsters, fired it quite a bit and it has remained accurate. I recently was shooting silhouettes at 125 with the same zero.

      I actually bought this for my HK P30 SK after watching your videos. Glad I did, this set up is great. I have since added another P30 to my collection and the first thing I did was order another Micro RDS setup for that one. Thanks for the and God Bless.

      @@brudy6021Any issues mounting the rear sight to your P30? Did you use a pusher, brass punch or gunsmith? I'm thinking about getting this for my P30L.

    • @brudy6021
      @brudy6021 7 місяців тому +1

      I had no issues mounting the rear sight. My P30 came with tritium sights so I didn’t need to replace the front. The existing rear needed a little persuasion with a brass punch but nothing major. The new meprolight went on very easy. Little tip, any brass residue left on the slide or sight comes off easily with a green scotch pad.
