Did 2 almost Sub 8min BTG lap times this day. But traffic did cost some few seconds in both.

Starke Runde, sehr sauber gefahren und auch cooler Sound dabei. Gut investierte 8 Minuten. ;-) Viel Spass weiterhin mit dem Cayman.

I can hear the air filter housing rattle...mine does the same due to the rigid attachment to the IPD plenum... Great driving btw :)

Sieht so einfach aus, wobei es so schwierig ist, so schnell zu fahren! Schon allein sich diese lange Strecke zu merken ist kompliziert. Glückwunsch! Hoffe bald meinen in Spanien stehenden CS987.2 mal auf dem Nurburgring fahren zu können.

No sports chrono seemed to make little to no difference. Excellent driving.
On PDK it makes a big difference but with manual it doesn't matter. You have all the control.
Great lap! What steering wheel is that? I have a 2010 987.2 6-spd in white and I would love to upgrade to a smaller wheel from the stock, and that white center strip looks great!
I bought a used one from a Porsche Macan and went to a saddler to put Alcantara and the center strip on. The 981/991/... steering wheels are compatible with the 981 gen.

Nice set up and lap! Do you find yourself craving more from the suspension like a coilover system? if yes, which one are you thinking?
Hi, I've now a Bilstein B16 installed and it's a big difference. Car feels much more stable and trustworthy now. Have not done a timed Hotlap yet, but is planned for this year :)
@Daniel, Das Lenkrad, steering wheel = great upgrade. Where did you find it and from what car model, year, does it come from? Looking to upgrade myself. Any problems with fitting the steering wheel/lenkrad? Besten Grüssen! Great video! Got a Cayman S 987.1 but not sure that Lenkrad will work.
Hey, this exactly steering wheel is from a Macan. I modified it and replaced wheel buttons with OEM parts and added Alcantara to it. Since I have a manual my only concern was the airbag and there are just two connector types. In general many of the 991/981 gen parts are compatible. When you search "997 to 991 steering wheel replacement" you should find all the infos you need, since most 997 parts translate to 987 parts.
But I'm not sure about the 987.1. But should be fine too. Have a look at my earlier videos and you'll see my original steering wheel / airbag was also the one used in the 987.1 gen, since mine cayman is from early 2009.
Hope this helps, can really recommend the upgrade - makes it feel 10 years more modern from inside.

Hey @golf1diesel, overall maybe up 400 I'd assume. Around 300 many years ago with motorcycles. Congrats to the track day. Something I've not done yet on the Nordschleife. Only Touristenfahrten.
@@DanielSchwiperich I meant Touristenfahrten,sorry. Didn't go on the F1 track yet. I've sold my Civic Type R FN2 a while ago as a SUV crashed into me so probably won't go there with my standard Lexus any time soon.

Ja genau. Die Lenkräder aus den neueren Modellen vom 991, 981, aber auch Macan, Panamera passen quasi Plug n Play. Nur nicht von den neuesten Generationen afaik.
Das Lenkrad ist ein 100%ige Wertsteigerung, sieht super aus.

@@AV-sf5xq Wie geschrieben ist plug and play auch beim Airbag. Stecker vom 987 ist gleich zu 997,981,991 etc. Gibt nur wenige Ausnahmen bei denn neueren Generationen die einen anderen Stecker verwenden.
Leider habe ich das alte vFL-Lenkrad mit dem dreieckigen Airbag in meinem 987 Boxster FL. Porsche verbaut beim Modellwechsel üblicherweise noch die alten Lenkräder. Leider bräuchte man auch ein neues Airbagmodul, wenn man auf die neueren mit rundem Modul wechseln wollte. Aber ja, bei denen mit den runden Modulen soll man den Lenkradkranz untereinander einfach wechseln können.

and did you experience no brake fade (any issues with cooling the brakes)?
Up to 3 laps in a row is fine so far. Using better brake liquid und pads (factory pads work fine and do not fade, but wear to quick)

Mit dem Cayman jetzt letztes und dieses Jahr zusammen ca. 70 - 80 Runden. Davor war ich aber schon mit nem GT86 unterwegs ab und zu und vor vielen Jahren mit dem Motorrad. Mir mangelt es also definitiv nicht an Streckenkenntnis 🙂

It's not a R. But I modded the S with original R parts + aftermarket parts like the capristo, bilstein etc to make it an even better R version :)

Hey @udodonald, nein habe ich bisher nicht. Hab nur schon ein paar Runden im Laufe der Jahre angesammelt. (Am meisten mit dem Motorrad früher). Aber ein Fahrtraining steht def. auf meiner Liste. Das hilft denke ich nochmal ungemein weiter.
