Great video. New subscriber. I ordered the E4 Maniacs box way back when it was pre-order time. I honestly thought we were never going to get to see this release. The 'discless' situation is amplified even more in my case. Pretty annoyed about it, I can see why so many sets are up for sale on the various forums and auction sites. I know Filmarena had best intentions and were tied up with the whole Disney/Fox situation regards licensing, so we can't blame them, but not offering a token refund or discount of some sort on future purchases even is a massive kick in the shin considering we committed to them financially nearly 2 and a half years ago now. Surely the disc costs were factored into the final purchase price by Filmarena before the price was set, so if they now do not have that considerable expense themselves, why did they still pass it on to us the loyal customer? It's wrong in my opinion. That said, you summed it up...'a bitter pill to swallow, at least we got the steelbook'. It's an incredible release as always, so we should be grateful, I can't see another premium set of this standard ever being licensed - companies likely wouldn't want the hassle!
‘If it needs spot-glossing, we can kill it’ very nice indeed! Missed out on the original GB for this. Think I’m on the reserve list but not holding my breath. These will be changing hands for mental money, glad you cracked straight into it. These premiums deserve to be opened and used! Great video as always mate 👍
Yeah the discs were part of it when ordered.... Massive delays due to licencing / rights shenanigans led the folks at filmarena to release as discless.... (at least that my understanding of the events)
Nice one! Filmarena is my favorite company for premium releases. I'm a notorious double dipper myself, and a lot of my premium releases are in fact movies that I own multiple times, but I'd still be bummed if I had pre-ordered a set that then was shipped as a discless set. Very cool fullslip of Predator though!
I have that 4k set too.... So want too bothered about the fact this became a discless release.... (LIKE 18 months AFTER pre order money taken...)... At this rested.... I'm on track to own every copy that exists!
@scottishgeekguy with Filmarena when they release 3 editions, one will be a photo book ( which you have) another one will have cast txt and then a film write-up will be in the other one
The art cards are amazing anf the outer box. Not a fan of the steelbook artwork though. Could have gone for something different. Was this very expensive?
I agree mate.... LOVE everything but the Steelbook. While it's ab exclusive art Steelbook... It's just the poster.... I have the other UK Steelbooks (4k and regular) and they're better Steelbook designs Imho... But the box, lenti and cards that came with this set... Are sublime.
I was on a stream on Friday and someone brought this video up on the stream saying that there was no disc with your release and I couldn't believe my ears when I heard it so I had to come over and check it out for myself. I'm a bit like yourself it's not a big deal but having said that please tell me they at least brought the price down to compensate for the lack of discs. I'm very curious because I'm very interested in picking up the maniacs edition of predator sometime in the future whenever I can get one at a good price but I'm starting to wonder does that entire boxset come without discs
No disc, no compensation... Was very much a case of "were sorry... It's a Disney / fox rights thing.... Rather than delay the release any more (after more than a year delay) we're just gonna release as discless." Pretty much take it or leave it....

It's nice, but I'd expect the discs to be included, especially if you'd pre-odered it and was expecting them to be part of the package.
