Hey i love your videos! I had a question i was wondering if you could help me out, i would highly appreciate it. My question is, i have a 2017 ipad pro and I just upgraded to the latest one. How do i transfer my brushes and settings in the clip studio from my old ipad to the new one?
Does the iPad version have cloud sync? You can save them as materials and just redownload them. Otherwise, there might be a way to export them to like Dropbox for or something.
what version is the paperlike screen protector as of now, im looking to buy one and this is the only recent video ive seen of it. Is its quality much better than older versions? and does it seem more durable?
Great review, I have been using another cheaper brand for years, and it works well enough, but now that it's actually wearing down, I'm considering upgrading. Though I will say I haven't had my tip wear down, I only replaced it this year after a nasty fall that broke it clean off. Ipad has taken place of my cintiq 13hd that I had since 2011 for producing art and design. Though honestly, I still can't replace the feeling of ball point or prismacolor on paper. Have you tried bellemont? l, I have been hearing that it's "better than paperlike and cheaper."
I haven’t tried them. Some people get turned off by the paperlike price so they go elsewhere but the Amazon reviews for all of them are mixed. I haven’t experienced problems other than it get scuffed up easily but that doesn’t bother me. You can’t see those when the iPad is on.
I love the Paperlike, but half a hundred bucks puts me off. Rather, 25 bucks. So I bought one (a set of two, Rather) and wow, what a difference the Paperlike makes when writing on the screen.
Right, most of the reviewers will pick on how it scratches but you can tell they didn’t use it long. Then they complain about applying it which is a pain will all screen protectors. I still have my first version of the 2.1 version installed. I can’t see scratches when the iPad is on so I don’t care.
Here's a bit of help for your video - you've got 3 issues affecting lighting quite badly. The blacks are far too light, the screen seems adequately exposed but your ambient light is killing the skin tones at that exposure. I don't know how much effort you've put into the videography side but it looks like an auto exposure issue. Here's the easy fix - expose for the room and skintones and dim the ipad to where it fits in! - then shoot at that exposure ONLY (manual) so that a hand in front of the camera doesn't make it jump around. You should also check your shutter speed - 180 degrees is most natural. I'm not sure you are but I'd throw it in. Thanks for the review. sharing knowledge is part payment! cb
I’ve switched everything since this video. I’m shooing in log now and edit in Davinci. My old editing software had no color correction at all. Second, I was attaching the camera inside a ring light which made it go crazy. I have 3 lights now but I’m still learning the right brightness vs color correction in post. I noticed post rendering tends to look a little darker than onscreen so I’m adjusting to that. I’m using the black magic app to record, I have a conversion lut applied to tune in iso but it’s still a work in progress. I have a new iPad to shoot so I’ll try that skin trick.
@@CreateNowSleepLater In photography we use 70% grey cards, color passports and other aids to set the exposure correctly - rather than adjust it in post. Because I'm involved with industrial printing, I also use monitor calibration devices and colorimeters. You can try the colorchecker passport target - this will greatly simplify your ambient exposures - but you'll still have the problem of the ipad brightness - as you would with any mixed lighting situation. BTW - if your monitor isn't calibrated, you could be wasting a LOT of time for zero gain.

About to install mine. It’s the first one I’ve had. I need to get procreate now and some brushes off a friend.
Believe it or not, the default Procreate brushes are pretty good
Very detailed review thanks for all the info!
Glad it helped!
Thanks! for the upload! You ever try the Elecom protectors (bond or smooth type)?
I have not, I think they make magnetic ones.
Really helpful review, thanks!
Nice vid as usual! Thx!
Thanks Dennis!!

They are calling it paperlike 2.1. You can get it on their site. I’m not sure when they update it on Amazon.
Also, mine lasted quite awhile. It still scuffs though but I don’t see the scuffs when it’s turned on.

@CreateNowSleepLater thanks for the quick reply, think I'll give them a shot. This slick surface is killing my precision.
Let us know how you make out, good luck!
Buble free ?… I just installed it and I have tons of bubbles left

“Drawing on glass is trash!” :)
Honestly, it’s barbaric.
I just received Paperlike 2.1 from Amazon. It is made in China! Returning back.
