Is there different types of popcorn ? I wonder, the popcorn this year seems
to be very dry and tough after you pop it. My brother said the same thing,he
orders his popcorn from a different place, rather than here in Canada. Is there
different grades of popcorn ? and which areas grow the best popcorn ?
You seem to be very knowledgeable on corns, so maybe you know the answer ?

I love growing my own white popcorn. We package it and give it away at Christmas. My best yield was 48 gallons of kernels. This year looks to be 25-30 gallons.

Hey Eric...probably answered your own question about how the field corn 🌽 got there if if’s in perfect rows. Had to be mixed in from the seed company. Thanks for sharing and we’ll catch you on the next episode. Mike

Nice work man, just like all Tomatoes are descendants of Méxican tomatoes the earliest ears of popcorn were discovered in México and were over 4,000 years old. That's why they call us Chicanos "Gente del Maiz"- "People of the Corn" and more commonly "Cara de Nopal" - "Cactus face" because our ancestors and us still today eat a shit load of cactus and and cactus pears. -lol
Nice video my brother.. I love all types of corn and especially popcorn with Chile Jalapeño at the movie theater.. so damn good. GOD Bless you all.

Luuvly popcorn! My favorite is strawberry corn. It produces oodles of tiny dark red cobs that can also be used as ornamentals for fall decor. It's tender and delicious!

Its common to get different seeds whenyou order from companies.Thats why i save my own and dont order. We are going to see this coming year im trying a new corn that was ordered.WE will see if it happens to me also.If there is no problems i will save the seeds and never have to buy it again.Looks like some good popcorn the ears look longer than regular popcorn.

That's awesome that you make your own popcorn. Any special way that you have to pop it? I usually use a hot air popper and wondered if your final product would work in there.

Looks like you got a nice amount of popcorn there! Really curious how you pop it, do you leave on the ear, or shuck it?

It is something else when a man says he's going to harvest something from his little garden, he brings a wheel barrow, not a basket.

You can buy onion bags from uline. 77 bucks for 100 50lb bags. Also update on thew danny corn. I might try it. Live in central wi. Tho would start mid april and move out side under a low tunnel end of april. Keep under low tunnel at nite thru may. Also i have samee problem with my peppers. 2 thoughts i have. Soil not warm enuf. I would fix 2 dif ways. Landsdcape fabric. Or when you make your rows have soil angle torwards the south.5 degrees. Im in zone 4 doing this puts me in zone 6 growing conditions.

When planting the seeds, do you plant in single seed rows, or group plant 3 or 4 seeds to a small hill, rows, to get better cross polenate.?

Can you plant popcorn from plain yellow popcorn from the supermarket, or do you need specially treated seed corn stock.?

You can. Plenty of people on YT have shown how. It may not be exactly the same it they had a hybrid (guessing). It is surprising that it's so easy.

I honestly think the pigs have a big impact. The last few years we do get a few tracks in the garden but not like in the past. There feeder is open and slamming shut around the clock. We do have electric fence on standby. We try to avoid it but have had it ready to put up right around harvest time.
