One thing that helped me get through some injuries, although I’ve been pretty fortunate, is remembering that Bruce Lee made much of his gains philosophically and strategically while injured. Very sorry to hear this. I had a femoral bypass surgery last year and was on blood thinners. I got a second opinion and was able to get off coumadin and resume training. Wishing for a good outcome for you and looking forward to learning from you again.

Question that I don't want to come off the wrong way: do you think overtraining and/or repeated hard impacts/chokeholds had any part in this occurrence, for you personally? I ask this as a practitioner myself. And, has this occurrence given you any ideas about pivoting from these martial arts to something else, in any way? I'm not trying to cast a blanket statement over any sport or martial art or practice, as I've practiced myself for years, but I would love to see more transparency in the community from experienced people about their lives as martial artists.
