My friend is a purple belt in BJJ and your videos have saved me from getting absolutely demolished in the clinch. I kinda sorta put up a fight before getting swept onto my back and tapping to the gogoplata from the mount for another time. As always I appreciate the free knowledge
Please make more ne-waza videos. Also, combinations with the banned throws would be really nice, as I know how to do the throws but don't know how to combine them/set up since I can't use in randori
The throws arent banned in judo in general. They are still part of the judo system. You can use it in randori - randori is no competion. Your partner must only know that you both are hace a trainings match outside of the IJF Rules
Good tips in your first video Judo on the ground sensei, regarding " missing seoi-nage " attack ...and the fight become a newaza .... Thank you for this video. Well done!
In Germany we call this a variation of the Bischofs Turnover (Bischofsdreher) Osu!! (Background: Ole Bischof was the German guy who fought Travis Steven in that legandary match with the headand)
Good vid! Now I understand why you have an affinity for BJJ. You must have learned Judo in the US. The last place a judo guy wants to find himself is on his back, and the last place a BJJ guy wants to be is in turtle. I learned this the hard way👍
Since it's Judo this video is about - Ne Waza ends immediately when both combatants are "back on their feet". So no. You cannot "grab a leg, jump up and perform a (in nowadays Judo: illegal) single leg takedown, the bout would be paused and reset to starting position.

I totally agree with your statement... " make more ne-waza videos" !
@@christianpohl9563 well, that's true, but it's still hard to learn the old set ups and combos

I like that near side arm bar from the turtle. That's one almost nobody expects in my BJJ classes.
That's because BJJ never received all of the techniques. 😁
Last few videos have been amazing
This is brilliant stuff, guys. Keep 'em comin'!

Shintaro, judo on the ground (oda method) is the name of a judo book by Ernest John Harrison
Now we need some old man newaza
great video!
hell yeah dude
Super 👍👍👍🥋🥋🥋
Maybe grabbing the leg is an amateur move but not if you jump up and turn it into a single leg. I've had a lot of success with it.
