    Sometime it can be a sunburn, if you lived in southern California then definitely a sunburn. Happened to my dragon fruits too. You need a shade cloths.

      Lily Hau so true there's a possibility of sunburn on dragon fruit if located in southern California. Thank you for your comment and thank you for watching. Cheers.

      Hello. Yes just peel off the yellow gelly parts and rinse it with water to take out the slime and spray it with copper based fungicide if available. I hope this helps. Thank you for your question and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers

    Im giving my dragon fruit 180 litres per day to the area 3 metres around it to no ill effect but the temp usually rises to 33-37 c daily. That water is by way of a sprinkler which drenches my pittaya.

      @@sackboymahalo i think maybe if your plants are getting sun burnt usually the the western side of the plant an then gets too much overhead water those sunburnt area's become susceptible. Cooler climates will become susceptible to this rot. Thats my theory anyway. Lol. I'm currently awaiting my first flowers to open (two days to go)on a Vietnamese cultivar, getting excited!

    • @sackboymahalo
      @sackboymahalo  3 роки тому

      Hello. I suggest to use Kellogg Palm, cactus and citrus soil mix for a good draining soil. Dragon Fruit likes water but not stagnant water. Dragon Fruit is ok with 90 degree weather as long as the temperature do not go up to 100 degrees. 100 degrees will surely damage the dragon fruit plant. I hope this helps. Thank you for your question and thank you for watching. 👍😊👍 Cheers

      sackboymahalo oh, yeah, my friend gives to me some of the liquid fertilizer, I used some of that , if that's why cause my dragon fruit tree drying out , then what can I do ? Thank you for reply my question !

      Janine Chang what kind of liquid fertilizer? How about your watering cycle, did you change also?

    • @janinechang8974
      @janinechang8974 6 років тому

      sackboymahalo it is homemade fertilizer made it from orange pills ,just because I was thinking give it more nutritious to hope the tree will produces more, maybe I didn't thin it enough . After that I realized something is wrong , I started to water more often, but seems not help at all, oh, by the way , my tree is planted in the pot , because I leave in Texas.

    • @sackboymahalo
      @sackboymahalo  6 років тому

      Janine Chang I think the adding of the homemade fertilizer and the changing of the watering cycle might have destroyed the roots which caused the problem. I suggest using 1 scoop of chicken manure compost or steer manure compost every month per plant instead which you can hopefully get from Home Depot and reverting back to your previous watering cycle. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching. Cheers.

    Mine didn't get squishy. it just got thin and turned a light color but only in small areas. It was hard but I snapped those little brown areas off. I thought my plant was dying so I told my dad and he said that it wasn't dying. I still thought it was dying though
